How long before you realize electric vehicles regarding semis is a stupid idea. In the first place the weight of the electric vehicle is double that of a diesel. Bridges are rated for the way of gas and diesel vehicles not battery twice as heavy vehicles. How long before a forest fire from a Tesla truck burns down 500,000 acres.
How many times a year does the 80 get closed cuz diesel semis are running overweight and speeding? Dozens so far this year, and 3 of those sparked brush fires as a result. The Carr fire back a few years ago burned a couple hundred thousand acres... it was caused by a bald tire on a car throwing sparks. The Park fire, that is still burning up near Lassen, was started by a car catching fire and then igniting nearby bushes. How long until you guys realize this particular argument against EVs isn't as solid as you think?
You're exaggerating the weight differences. Diesel Semis used for long haul (with a single sleeper cab) can have a weight, without trailer of nearly 20k pounds...more if its a queen sleeper or double). Most Semis without sleeper cabs, with at least two filled 150 gallon fuel tanks come in at 17k pounds. A Tesla semi without trailer and with the max battery capacity comes in around 25k pounds, mid range battery pack brings it to 21k pounds. That is nowhere near double the weight.

They don't even have an effective way to instantly put it out like the other vehicles you mentioned. It could be burning for days. So do the math... The other examples you gave are bad enough without adding cataclysmic EV truck fires to the mix.
Where is OSHA and the EPA? EV trucks not safe! Burn for hours, needs thousands of gallons of water to put out. Toxic water runoff. Fire can restart days later!

I’m just glad it didn’t start a big fire near Colfax, we haven’t lived here long and it’s my biggest fear.
