I use a light coating of Lucas lithium grease on the struts to keep them clean and lubricated. It will help them to last and reduce wear. A Toyota shop mechanic told me that.

I installed these on mine, I noticed the steel bracket that the old rod was mounted to, started chewing into my strut. Did you see this happen?
