Yeah , at the time it was released people found the animation style outdated and the colors weird which is why it went under the radar for most anime watchers

It was released in before 2010 or something like that not sure so many aren't aware of it.
The light novel that this anime is based has finished years ago. The anime was shorted out because one of the production member died and for respect they never made season 2.
This anime was one of my favs
underrated anime
The only problem I had with this anime is the start. Ok you really want him to help your city cool. You can't threaten someone that is stronger than everyone in your city. Honestly in what world would someone in Leifon's situation, just be like "ok I'm going to do exactly what you say, because you said so." The whole thing with Leifon just doing whatever he is told to do, is silly at best. Better start would be the city being run by an old friend.
Your right, physically, they would have no chance at actually forcing him to do anything, however he didn’t want to continue with all of the fighting. He could fight them all and win to get his way but if not handled properly, then that would end up making people see him as an enemy. The way I see it is, he basically chose the path of least resistance. He gets to be a mechanic or whatever he wanted to be and in exchange, he lends the city his strength. That way he can stay on decent terms with everyone.
Of course that is just my take on it. I might be over thinking it.

Problem is humans can't live outside of shelled cities even if he could beat everyone to submission the city would stop functioning and Leifon knows true terror of beasts outside and how foolish human struggle is
like Kaya said, Layfon doesn't have much of a choice, since he was already kicked out of his home city and is just trying to live a normal life, but that normal life is being threatened, not by Kallian but just by the battle for resources between cities. it's not so much that he yielded to being threatened as he listened to common sense and realized that he has to protect the city in order to continue living there
