If you want to watch an anime that is lighthearted, will teach you to not sweat either the big or small things, will show you the value of simple living and humility, and make you laugh straight from the heart, Barakamon is for you. I have the entire series saved on my computer and I watch it on days when I am low and need to remember to be kind to myself. The OP is nostalgic, and Naru is Best Lil Girl ever. Seishuu changes over time, and he begins to love the island.
This show is a gem. This, and Silver Spoon, are great slice-of-life anime.

Nope, he became popular in the new school but in the elementary and middle school he was bullied for being frail and weak (but I also think he was bullied by those who is jealous of his good looks) that’s why he learned calligraphy and became anti social. When he perfected his calligraphy in high school (the time where Handa kun takes place) people idolize him because “he act mature” (well in fact he is just ignoring them because he is afraid of them) and is quite handsome.

Actually Barakamon has an another story, you could say prequel I guess? The title is called "Handa-kun", the MC of Barakamon which is Handa goes into a High-School and pretty much that is where the story mostly takes place, his best friend (I do not remember the name but I remember he was blonde and had glasses) is also still on Barakamon, anyway going back to Handa-kun, Handa thought everyone from the school hates him, but actually not. I am not going to tell you why I said he is not hated because it might spoil the fun, though I finished Handa-kun but I dropped Barakamon but that doesn't mean the anime is bad, just not really my type. So for people out there who watched Handa-kun and haven't watched Barakamon, well there it is, I said it, same MC, different story.
Just extra thing, I found Barakamon because of the opening of Barakamon when I was trying to play the opening of Barakamon on Osu and when I watched Barakamon the MC reminded me of someone and when I found out his name was Handa, that was pretty much there I kinda freaked out so I searched if the MC of Barakamon and Handa-kun has any connection which there actually was and they were the same MC of 2 Animes. Also, I had more fun watching Handa-kun than Barakamon because of the events that happened in the school but again I will say it it is only my opinion. If you want to watch what happened to Handa on Handa-kun in the future, watch Barakamon next, SAME MC alright? Handa is not a side-character on Barakamon but is still the MC.
I think Handa kun shows how he developed his social skills (kinda) and became more mature after the series of events happened as a teenager. I watched Barakamon 1st so I guess Barakamon is still better than Handa kun but, it’s a matter of preference anyway and also age, I find most teenagers liking Handa kun because of its high school set up and also the more immature and relatable Handa for them, same goes to adults who relates about the struggle of work in the city and just wanna contemplate the meaning of life.

The thing you won't get in these recaps Is that the mc knew a lot about calligraphy and practiced it a lot but his way of doing it wasn't filled with much passion and thus was worse? It's an anime so not 100% reality
