I learnt something monumental today: Welfare economics has little to do with equality. I had previously thought that pareto-efficiency was equality. Excellent illustration, clearly, you can't be worse off by missing what you never had (Like Bob in the illustration)
Thanks for making me understands this concept, you are the reason I'm going to pass my exam. Insha allah Tomorrow i'm sitting Mid-term exam for IntermediateMicroeconomics. my allah make easy. pray for me. mny thnks Mr. Burkhard C. Schipper
@@muellerd123 at that time it was complexity to understand pareto efficiency coz teachers they don't explain the way you want to understand the things.
Applying this to societies/economies, it appears to me in practicality that a pareto efficiency represents a status quo. This status quo is not necessarily the most fair; indeed the majority of pareto efficiencies (in their respective societies) that are fair to everyone, I assume, is slim to none. However, would it be casuistry to assume that an ideal societal/economic structure is self-evidently a pareto efficiency?
Not really. Say you allocated something and there's no other allocation that can make one happy without getting the other bad, then your allocation is Pareto Efficient.
Why do youtube videos always explain concepts better than my college professors
