We have a black raspberry patch here in our Michigan zone 6A garden, and it does very well for us. I feed them with holly tone at the beginning of the season, once they flower, after pruning, & before winter if I remember to do it. We give them 5-1-1 every 10-14 days throughout the growing season. Once they flower and fruit we cut those canes off so new ones can grow to fruit the next season. Black raspberries have amazing flavor compared to regular raspberries and blackberries, but the fruit itself is smaller than regular raspberries. The thorns are good for keeping the critters away & they limit how many berries the bird bandits end up getting. I'd have to cover them with netting if they were thornless.
GREAT information as always fam and I appreciate you sharing it with me! I’m excited about growing these varieties and I have to keep them in containers because they’re to invasive for my small backyard. I’m hoping to get some fruit off of them by the summer so fingers crossed🤞🏾😂. Stay blessed!
That is great mail! Good partnership. That is a beautiful bunch of raspberries you got there. We have put fish heads under our tomatoes before. So smelly… 😝 You probably won’t be surprised if I tell you I have made a knife like that when Glen was into making knives about 27 years ago. I made it from a cultivator shovel and it still stays as sharp as ever. Take care Calvin, Annette 🌺
I actually got some fish heads from my neighbor last night for fertilizer. He fillets all of his fish and throws away the rest but not anymore 😂. Y’all have knife making skills too…now that’s just AWESOME! Please show it on one of your videos in the future because I’d love to see it. Thanks as always for your support Annette and y’all stay blessed!
Yes I purchase Raspberry from grocery store . Its doing fantastic. It has thorns but growing like crazzy. Cut back in winter. See what it will do it bloom first year with about three berries. Its in large barrow now. Started with 3 grape vines as gift. Was growing in grow pots then purchased raised beds. Thinking about getting couple more in fall. Think that's best time to prepare. Like the bare root trees have a 5 apples (one with 2 different fruit ), peach, plum, Asian pear, Fig and two Elderberries. Then currant, Blueberries (5), Blackberry and 5 grape vines. Was able propagate from one apple did not want throe away cuttings . Enjoyed the video always nice see trees. Last have white dogwood beautiful blooms. Finally have two large mulberries came with house its like wine in the summer time. Take care. PS saw you live with Broke enjoyed!
WOOOOW 😱😱😱! That’s quite an impressive lineup of trees that you have there. I’d probably be the exact same way if I had more space. I’m looking to add some black currants soon. Thank you for coming over and watching from the live. I really appreciate it!
Hey, Calvin 👍🏿 happy gardening. I a new subscriber from uncle broke farmer channel the fruit trees look so goodi I will definitely go and check them out 😊
Hi Calvin. Your yard/trees look amazing. Thanks for the tips. I'm almost afraid to go to the food forest nursery website because I know I can't help myself. 😂
Please 🙏🏾 do and use my code to save yourself some money. I’ll be going back to them as well because they have so much to offer. Thanks for watching and stay blessed!
Hey Calvin. Thanks for sharing your secret weapon 👍🏽. I’m gonna need a cutting off that Orient Pearl and mulberry . The ones I got from Lead dies. They never did anything. Your food forest is looking amazing.❤😊
Hello 👋🏾 fam! The tuna can be used as a natural fertilizer to help feed the roots as the plant🪴gets established. The difference between using it and not using it is around double the amount of growth in my experience. Sardines in water work just as well.
❓️❓️How do you keep the pea gravel from falling out of the holes you drilled in the bottom of the container? Also what is the size of the red pavers under your blackberries in the pot?
Thats awesome Calvin. This will feed in two ways. Thanks for the sharing your special mix. Cant wait to see how they grow.
Thank you 🙏🏾 Kenny!!! That tuna works wonders and makes my plants 🪴 do more than they’re supposed to do in the first year.

Tuna is my go to along with sardines in water. They’re both game changers for your garden 🪴!

Hi Calvin. 🌱 I always love friend Mail. 📬 Very cool. What is the tuna good for? Have a blessed day. 🌱

Also two persimmons thanks
INCREDIBLE!
Good job❤
Thank you 🙏🏾 so much fam!!!
Hey Calvin, I'm going to try the tuna.
Please do because it REALLY works and your plants 🪴 will love you for it!
@@SowGoodGardener is the tuna just for fruit trees?
❓️❓️How do you keep the pea gravel from falling out of the holes you drilled in the bottom of the container? Also what is the size of the red pavers under your blackberries in the pot?
The pea gravel filled in the holes but still allows the water to drain out easily. The pavers are 16”x16”.
Are you going to trellis the raspberry
I’ll up pot it in a month or so and then trellis it up from there.
Ok, antioxidants!
What’s up fam?!!!! Good to see you!
🍃 #loveit 🍃
Thank You for sharing💛
💞🌱
Thank you for watching fam! I really appreciate you and stay blessed!
Does it have to be starkist tuna. Can it be Dollar Tree tuna?
As long as it’s the ones that say “in water” and not oil or something like that, you’re good to go. Name brands don’t matter at all.
Oh No not the stinky tuna fish 🐠
Tuna fish is an amazing fertilizer mother dear!!!
❤
Thank you 🙏🏾 fam and I haven’t forgotten about you! I’ve just been busy but it’s coming, I promise 😂.
