The latest game, star wars outlaws, is being massively downvoted. People everywhere on social media is making fun of the game and its main character and the story trailer is being mass disliked. In addition ubisoft has a rediculous pricing model for this game and it only adds to star wars outlaws being dead on arrival.

Honestly, the thing that bugs me the most is seeing a Han Solo clone with a gender swap. Like wtf? Why not introduce real original characters instead of this crap?! It's not even about it being a woman at all, mind you. It's about it being such an obvious Han Solo, without it actually being Han Solo. By the way, I wouldn't say Star Wars is dead necessarily. It just needs videogames and movies that are closer to the original trilogy.

the only thing that is wrong is Ubisoft *GREED* with charging high prices for digital second and third tear pre-order packages. that isn't reflective of the quality of the game as that is yet to be determined. Saying it "sucks" is way too premature of a judgement on the quality of the game's game play etc etc

I've never played any of the new games and they don't appeal to me, but I don't care cause it doesn't impact me, if I don't enjoy it I just don't consume it. I'm not an egotistical little man child that demands the star wars franchise to only make things about what I like lmao

Don't get me wrong, Disney has written one absolutely fantastic show in Andor, but the rest? The mandalorian was decent but other than that it's missing the mark. Sad but true.

The start to Mando was great and the moment we saw Luke's return was INCREDIBLE.
I rather enjoy those moments that to say we should just abandon star wars and "preserve" it as it was as the trilogy/prequels.

Ubi got me on Skull and Bones for $70. I FORCED myself to play it just because of the price tag. I lasted about 2 weeks before I lost interest (and I LOVE pirate games).
I just paid $70 for Baldur’s Gate 3, in fear I made the same mistake like S&B. I’m in absolute LOVE with BG3! Thank fuck for Larian!

Or just sub to their game pass for $17.99, why is no one talking about how good of a deal that is? 1 month is in all likelihood enough time to finish a game like that and there probably wouldn't be much replay value so I see no need to even buy it if they're putting it on their version of game pass.
I'm glad I never became a star wars fan this whole time now in my early 30's lol. appears to fallen off like many other things...they just got too much shit it's hard to find one thing. Might have to start with the movies, I haven't even played KOTOR, and definitely not this.

ALL I WANT is a story where you play as a clone and work your way up through a battalion of your choice. let you go on missions have online coop and let the game be played in 3rd and 1st person so we can FINALLY get a story that revolves around the life of a clone. Battlefront 2 2005 was SO GOOD but thats the only perspective we ever got to see from their POV.
I honestly just want a Knights of the Old Republic remaster or something or even a remaster of the Force Unleashed I would love to see a Knights of the Old Republic movie as well it saddens me that Star Wars is the way it is now
I am completely and utterly exhausted with Star Wars. It has been so savagely oversaturated in various media over the past decade that I could honestly go the rest my life never hearing or seeing anything related to the franchise and be perfectly happy about it. At this point, Disney is just squeezing as much much blood from the stone as they possibly can.
It's a Ubisoft game. You'll be to buy it on a sale a month later for like 30 im sure.

but at least they have a good esg score. and that's all that matters to them. because it's more profitable to destroy your business for a good score than it is too create good content for profit.
I always wait for the deep discounts on Ubisoft titles. The gameplay loop is fun sometimes. Wish they would have went with the male / female option for Star Wars Outlaws or let us make our own character.

It might suck to look at, but unless you play it, how do you actually know? It's good to see life from a different angle, we've played Star Wars games where we've been Jedi, Sith and Stormtrooper, but I'm not sure we've been an Outlaw. I might give it a go, but at the extortionate prices they're charging I'm gonna wait a while, so I can understand a lot of the negativity. Oh and did you watch the trailer? It does include someone we recognise, Jabba of course and perhaps maybe others who they've not shown.
The pricing structure has been 3 tier for ubisoft games for a long time. Yeah it went up just like everything else. That why wait for reviews and or sale.

It looks like Uncharted/Tomb Raider but in Star Wars. If Star Wars 1313 came out, this is probably what its inevitable open-world sequel would have been.
Its probably going to have a ton of unnecessary Ubisoft busy-work so that they can say the game takes 800 hours to complete, but that's the only negative I'm seeing so far. I never cared about Star Wars so the story is whatever. I just want more Uncharted

Sometimes U isoft does great, some of the farcry games are decent and the games I've been liking from Ubisoft is the Crew 2 and motor fest, AC Valhalla was pretty cool, and GR Wildlands and Breakpoint were good, R6 Siege as well. But this doesnt look like a game ill pick up. I Love Starwars but its really been going to shit and it is sad to see
I’m hoping that this game is good. Modern gaming has let me down. And I can’t remember when I’ve been excited for a release that comes through since Halo 3. But, I’m having high hopes for this one.
I'd rather have a Star Wars Total Conversion for Starfield, TBH, even with Starfield being underwhelming.
The amount of tears when people that paid for early access that doesn't work and is filled with bugs will be legendary. Even better will be once they are able to play and realize the game is ass. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show boys.
It just sucks because the kid in me is still so enamored with the endless wonder of the Star Wars universe, and to see what it has become with greedy devs like this. It just feels so bad. Sad. Good analysis, Boogie!

I was already kind of lukewarm on this game, no way in hell am I paying over $100. I still have a 1060 3 GB graphics card, and a 7600 K so I likely can't even play this without buying a whole new system.
To be fair some of us saw this coming all the way back in 2005 with the horse armor for the elder scrolls oblivion.
To me this kind of looks like they aped some bits from the game that was supposed to be about Boba Fett the 1313 game but with the "modern" touches

Here's my absolutely insane idea: I'm going to wait for the game to land on Steam, buy the game at the base rate, play it for a few months, have fun, then buy the DLC at a deep discount the following year, and move on with my life. I know, bonkers, right? How could someone be so unhinged.
If I were you, I’d wait 30 days for it to go on sale because they always deeply discounted their games. No reason not to save some money.

The failure is not that it's a "star wars game" the failure is it's an UBISOFT game.
Though the $17.99 for one month thing seems good, unless its like a mandatory 3/6 months contract, would be enough time to dick around and check out other games and to unsub when you're done.

It's a Ubisoft game, so the usual things apply: Don't preorder (never preorder any game actually). Wait for tests. Wait for user opinions. Wait for technical analysis videos. And then wait a bit longer, especially if you wanna get it cheaper.
But apart from that there are some things I cannot agree with you. The pricing policy of the publisher is not new and not exclusive to Ubisoft and it also has nothing to do whether the game is gonna be good or not. That is up to the developers.
Apart from ongoing technical difficulties, the last couple of Star Wars game where good in terms of gameplay, story, characters. Jedi Survivor, Squadrons. And I also liked most of the shows, though quality was all over the place, with Andor sticking out, Obi Wan being kinda okay-ish and Ahsoka somewhere between the two.
Declaring Star Wars being dead might be a bit over the top here, imho.

You can just buy Ubisoft plus for one month, play the game and unsubscribe for just $18. A lot better imo than paying $70+ for a game you don't know is going to be good
Dude I really enjoyed watching live as the Suicide Squad game crashed and burned just like we all knew it would. We're so lucky that we're gonna get TWO of those this year. Great year for gaming!

I'm gonna call you out on the title as these complaints have nothing to actually do with Star Wars.
As you accurately pointed out the pricing is a Ubisoft issue not a Star Wars issue.
The second thing I'll say is (and it's cool if you want to wait for a sale always down to pay giant companies less) but there's really no reason to get anything but the standard edition. This goes for most games, because other than that one DLC mission you don't get anything of value for higher versions.
I'll also say (and this might just be a personal opinion) but I don't really care about the stories of the main line characters all that much. I'd much rather see something from a completely different Era like KOTOR or that Acolyte show or from a completely different perspective that's unrelated to the main SW story like this.
All that said will I get this game? Maybe. I'll wait for reviews to come out, and depending on them, I might wait for a sale.
I will say to your credit I'm glad you didn't just rely on the current annoying video game discourse for this video.
