I live in California, and went to school with a guy who was also from California, but watched southern movies all the time, and wound up with a country accent...and he was full on Japanese too. It happens.
Zachary Quiroz hmm he must have literally watched them all the time from AM to PM. Usually as an adult you don't lose your native accent. My grandma is from Jamaica and she came to England more than 50 years ago but her accent is still fresh as ever.

1: nose width
2: jaw shape
3: eye colour
4: hair colour
other than that, they could be identical
