You will need AD; but if you require certain functions that require the integration of enterprise apps from a directory perspective; AD will be needed. Just like MS Intune, in most cases, a toold controlling windows devices and enterprise application within officer 365 will need AD integration with MDM solutions. Jumcloud comes with AD alternative. You can select from the solution package if you want everything including SSo, core directory, and password -less solutions... Perhaps, MacOS can be domainless if you define the policies and configuration profile well that meets compliance. Otherwise, I believe Jumpcloud can be used without any Domain .. so this means you are going domainless :) if the is is fine with your org.
