This is the place that the Arabs dug the Nabataeans between the mountains to be the capital of their kingdom and be a strong bulwark against the enemies and they are hidden from the hilt to the extent that they are called the lost Arab city, really beautiful and wonderful
It's beautiful. I'm glad I went. One of the cool things is the water system along the walls of the Siq. There are deep wells and something that looks like a canal along the wall. If you don't walk down or back up from the Treasury at least one direction, you will miss all of that.
did you build it with your own hands then? people are so quick to identify themselves with something they actually have no connection to. i never understood this national pride people feel. it wasn't even called jordan at that time. in the name of this national pride a lot of crimes against humanity have been commited and are still being commited daily. just the fact that you said that tells me you never really thought about this issue but i hope you will now. and if not, oh well, welcome to the majority of human race.
@@meskalino are you fucking dumb????? it was always called jordan... since the beginning of time it’s even called jordania or yordania in many ancient texts and languages... in fact, the word jordan itself is older than the history of your entire country since day 1
I was there in 2010. Amazing place. My friendly Jordanian tour guide showed me where Aaron, Moses' brother, is buried on a Mountain top nearby. We then went to newer Petra and had a buffet dinner. People are quiet because they are awestruck like in the Grand Canyon. Ali, Question: The doors and steps on some of the monuments like the treasury are massive. Did the giants that used to live in that area, Horites, Amalekites, etc., build it?
amazing place indeed! loved it I will have to go back at some point. I'm not entirely sure about the giants there is a lot of myth around how and who's built the city it's definitely worth a bit of research the tour guide at the time did mention that there are beliefs they were built by giant people but god knows. i guess its a bit of a mystery :)
goldenjeru I can give you an answer according to the Quran. Maybe you're not Muslim, but i think that you'll still find it an interesting answer. Scholars of Islam say that the people Thamud have built these giant monuments. The people of Thamud were descendants of the people of Aad. The people of Aad were giant, and powerful. Thus they became arrogant and received a punishment from Allah. The people of Thamud, as they were the descendants of the people of Aad, were giants, but smaller then the people of Aad. Allah says desribes the architecture of the people of Aad as an architecture no people/folk has ever built with. Basically the people of Aad had a new type of building and architecture. -Quran/89:6/ "Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad -" -Quran/89/7/ "[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars," -Quran/89/8/ "The likes of whom had never been created in the land?" The reason why im telling you this is to show you that since the people of Thamud are descendants of the people of Aad, they most probably inherited this new way of building, style or architecture with them. Than Allah says -Quran/89/9/ "And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?" -Quran/7/74/ "And remember when He made you successors after the 'Aad and settled you in the land, [and] you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of Allah and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption." -Quran/15/82/ "And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure." So, basically according to the Quran the people of Thamud were people who: -were bigger than other folks, giants -carved their houses out of the mountains -who carved palaces out of mountains -who inherited the unique architecture from the people of Aad as they were their ancestors. -who were Arabs and lived in lands of which we know today as Arab lands So, seeing huge homes and palaces carved out of the mountains, in Arab lands, with a unique architecture, so huge it was impossible for humans of our size to have built it in ancient time.... I'd say it's the people of Thamud who have built the palaces.
@@childmandude4390 The interesting thing about thamud is that they have giant structures and small structures. If i'm not mistaken they could be giants as well, as they were the successors of Aad. But Allahu a3lam. Also look up the narrations of ibn Battuta. If you don't know, Ibn Battuta is a Berber Muslim traveler who traveled around the world on land. He says in his narrations that he actually came across the skeletons of Thamud. But Allahu A3lam.
@@childmandude4390 "Iram Dhaat al-3amaad hiya al-7adaarah al-Misriyah al-Qadeemah" If i try to translate it, i think it says something about Iram being related to ancient Egypt. Nice video but it still gives the wrong information that the seen carved building is called Petra. I was mistaken since childhood about that. Petra is the name of the whole town which is 8 km long. The building we all know is called THE TRESAURY. In Arabic AL KHAZNEH. In the opposite site of the town is the MONASTERY which is not presented here. Actually this video presents 1/3 of the town of Petra.
If you go there you will make a test with the limestone and you will see that it is a soft rock easily manipulated. They also builded it from top to bottom. This is the most preserved building as it is protected from the near rocks so no wind can brake the façade. The monastery which is at the opposite side of the town has some damage due to weather conditions.
Unless there's a reason that the shooter of this video didn't exceed average human head height whilest in view of the site not once, like some kinda flight restriction or prohibiting factor... I fail to understand this video.... Even if there was I still fail to understand this video utilising a drone capable of capturing things that us humans being restricted to ground cannot, instead shooting video anyone who's of a reasonable height can do exactly the same... Shit if I had my drone there even if I were aware of any restricting rule that dictates I couldn't fly beyond a certain height, I'd still be getting shots from heights and angles that cannot be achieved from ground, so long as I was sure I could do so in a risk free non destructive manner to the location.
