Wow! Just came across this video. Brought tears to my eyes. What a lot of fond memories of my growing up in NYC provoked seeing the title of all those shows. Having been born in 1956, I got to see them all as they were being released and a few others not mentioned. These last few years I been enjoying reruns from the 70"s, now I have another task of finding these shows to enjoy once again, Thank you so much.
The good old years weren't always good; actually, in the sixties the world was in turmoil. Little wars going on all over the place, social and racial problems all over the U.S.. it wasn't all 'flower power' like so many like to believe. Race riots all over, killing, oh yeah, and Viet Nam. Cold war, my ass. Nam was hot as it could be.
I watched so many of these during my childhood. Even though it's a reminder of just how much time has flown by, thank you for the stroll down memory lane.
Thank you for the memories. I grew up watching these shows like a lot of others and it made my eyes well up. My mother told me a long time ago that your childhood is a very special time in your life and well, these shows were a major part of my childhood. Thank you and thanks to the actors, actresses, producers and musicians from that time period. To those not here physically, RIP and hope to see you on the other side in a good place and those who are still here, I love you and god bless.
Most of these programs were 30 minutes in length, but had a moral. It was a fun, safe, and healthy way of intertainment. May those actresses and actors who have passed away, rest in peace, and God bless them. Thank you for all the fun entertainment you provide us with.
I loved these shows as a child then and I still love them watching them as an adult. Thanks for putting this together. This brought back alot of memories, not to mention Richard Harris singing McArthur's Park.
Thanks for taking me back down memory lane .. your video and song were wonderful.. and we will never pass this way again ~ Memeories are a wonderful thing
WOW!!! This reminds me why I USED to watch TV.A lot of these shows were so well done they stand the test of time and people still appreciate them today. Thanks for the retrospective.
Wow, this makes me nostalgic! Beautifully done. Thanks for reminding us of the good old days!! And God bless these actors and actresses, especially the ones no longer with us. They provided us with so many great memories.
thankyou for the memories--luved it---very kind and genius of you to put it out there....gave people who just arrived here on earth a view of what they missed.....thanks again.....:)
I was almost moved to tears watching this. Like a song that brings one back to a certain time in life, this video was one favorite song after another bringing back memories that had long been stored away. Those times are gone but not forgotten now.
Hey! I'm addicted to this video! This brings back so many memories that I made a point to NEVER forget! Like when some of these shows first aired and how we used to run to the TV so we wouldn't miss them. This is when television was QUALITY! The song by Richard Harris fits the occasion perfectly because this is just exactly how I feel about these great shows!
Thanks for these great memories... Car 54 Where Are You, the Smothers Brothers, Get Smart, That Girl, Patty Duke, Gidget, The Man from Uncle - and Davey and Goliath! You did a wonderful job on the video, thanks for posting!
awesome thank you for taking me back to the good old days so many memories and I'm proud to say I grew up watching most of these shows. wonderful tribute!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this!! Boy did it bring me back-I think there's probably only a couple shows I didn't watch. Those shows are so much better than what's on now! Awesome job-thank you!
Great to hear the late great thespian Richard Harris sing this monster hit. I will never ever forget the greatest decade in television, and music. Priceless!
Thanks, great memories I used to climb in the window after school to watch a lot of these shows when I should have been up the road being watched by a neighbour.
This was a good presentation. This was like going back in time through the 60's All these shows were memorable, I would like to see Ben Casey come out on DVD. Thanks for putting this together.
Thanks for the wonderful memories. One of my favorites of that time was Here Come the Brides. It was only on for a couple of seasons, but I watched it faithfully. So much great tv back then.
Many thanks for reminding us how good TV was in the 1960's, Bring on back the good old days! Today's TV is pure drivell..Thanks for this wonderful production...
THANK YOU for this! I lost count on how many "OH MY GOD! I remember that!!" I'd blurted, or even laughed about! Thank You So Very Much for a nearly 7.5 minutes "Portal" of great memories that were never gone... Just forgotten. Classics for sure!
Amazing. I read through the comments and just as I'm thinking, "how about . ." someone else mentions it. So many happy memories. That was an incredible amount of research to pull those together. Thank you. If you do a second tribute video, include The Rat Patrol, along with the others. And the music was a nice touch - bittersweet - just like looking backwards at our youth.
This was really nice ! I too am old (born '56). This, seriously, was the best I have ever seen. Thank you for posting !! The music was perfect, just perfect !
VERY nicely done. Though I mostly know these shows from reruns in the early 70s, I do know practically all of them. Nice walk down memory lane and excellent musical accompaniment.
I'll have to admit... I was worried when the choice for music of MacArthur Park for this great collage but it grew on me and ended up really enjoying this. Great Job on hitting so many show both familiar and eventually and with joy recalled here. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.!!
We laughed and even thought is was corniest of all TV in the 1960's (especially this shot of Gilligan's Island at 3:43). Now I wish they'd bring shows like this back as they had a sense of morality, true wit and classic humor that we find now today in such dire need! And i might add a fave from our Brit friends in the UK, The Avengers and Emma Peel! God save the real queen, Diana Rigg!
Nice to remember these TV shows we used to watch when some of us were a bit younger!!! Nice to have memories!!!Now it's those blasted reality shows!!~~~
loved Rat Patrol! Born in '55 we always played Rat Patrol, it had cool jeeps with machine guns, big hit for little boys. Combat another favorite. Born in the shadows of WWII, the son of an Omaha Beach veteran and surrounded by Vets everywhere, even my town of Farmingdale NY had an old closed down military factory "Liberty" right next to a railroad track, it put together P51's and more, we use to go into the yard and play in old shells of planes at 5 years old and run around the junkyard there and RR tracks pretending we were Combat. What memories.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a great retrospective! Three things: (1) given its length, one can see why MacArthur Park was liked by so many 1960s DJs; (2) I really loved Star Trek, Bonanza and The Fugitive and um, was gaga over Angela Cartwright of Lost in Space as well as Barbara Eden; and (3) no matter how hard you tried, you can't make everyone happy...The Outer Limits...The Carol Burnett Show... :-) Thanks again!
Thank u for this video, it must have taken you some time to put together! It made me cry as I am getting older and very emotional anyway! Thanks for your efforts! Good job.....
Wow.....just wow. Some of these shows were a big part of my youth. Would watch them religiously. They just don’t make em like they used to. The good ole days.....I miss them
This was awesome. I wish a TV network existed that would air these shows. I guess I need a time machine. Davy and Goliath put an unsuspected smile on my face.
Had a 60's thought and found this. Thanks for a fantastic journey (hey what about fantastic voyage), McArthur Park was the perfect song. Iwas elated and sad all the same. When We Were Young" Born in '55, Farmingdale NY, my Dad was second wave on Omaha Beach, met my Mom in England. My town was baby boomer Utopia, thousands of kids and an old shutdown military factory "Liberty" where we rambunctious boys climbed over a barb wire fence to play in old P51 Mustangs and pretend we were "Combat" in junked jeeps there. I grew up on all these shows as they first came out. All the great family shows, what happened to this country? At 5 yrs old I could walk alone (actually with hundreds of kids) to a bus stop 3 blocks away. I could get on my bike after breakfast, ride with friends 20 miles away from home all day long and parents never had to worry. TV has steadily turned to porn and sick violence, hit shows now are those that glorify Jr High sex, trash talk, dress like a hooker, more sick violence, more nudity, more sex everywhere you look. I cant even think of any family based shows but I remember nearly all Nickelodeon shows with Tweens all live in a home with an older brother or "caretaker" and NO PARENTS. Then, Barbara Eden had her navel covered up, now the material used to cover up a female body would just about be material for Jeannie's tassel. Then, Gidget & Patty Duke, now naked, dope smoking, live sex act, Miley Cirus and the trio of hollywood bad girls drunk, naked and drugged in public and Hollywood has the audacity to lecture us ever year how bad we are as they insult America and give themselves awards for forcing aspiring actresses to have sex with troll like men. How can society take such a trash turn Thank God and my parents and the decent people, the Greatest Generation I grew up around. 50's to 70 was best time to grow up, was the last of Americas moral center, the most simple yet greatly entertaing shows, when you could turn the TV on any channel with any and all family members there. Well loved this collection, fantastic job, well done, gosh I'm old, how did I get this old, what happened to that little kid?
To AmberWaves444 - Thanks so much for this. I rediscovered some favorite shows from kidhood, and that amazing song, MacArthur Park, which I was moved to download to MP3 Player. Hooray!!!
I am Saudi but grew up in the US in the 70s, they were wonderful years and I remember a lot of TV shows that bring back beautiful memories. I am 41 now, how the years fly by so fast I do not know. Thanks for the memories Texas.

Anyone else get choked up just a bit with the images and the song? Takes me back to simpler days. Man, didn't know how great it had as a kid.
The good old years weren't always good; actually, in the sixties the world was in turmoil.
