I was a house painter for years. It ABSOLUTELY is the light reflecting off of the floors that is making the walls look green.
Thank you! I was going to comment that they should wait till the floor is done. It’s probably the green floor reflecting on to it.
I'm not a painter and that was my first thought. Or something with a glass treatment from the windows (solar reflective or thermal related).
I was thinking the lack of finishes and the Low-E coating and glass does change the lighting on the interior. Having worked in commercial glass, tinting the glass blue or green seems to make the light less subtle and less annoying

The walls are reflecting the color of the floors. Don't worry once everything else is finished it will look Simply white!
It could also be the light coming through the windows. Some window glass has a slightly green tint (caused by iron oxide in the sand they used or possibly from the metal container they used to melt it). It's much more noticeable when you look at the edge of the glass. There's a special type of glass called Low-E glass that also has a green tint, caused by the metallic coating they use.

It's the floor reflecting off of the white! White is such a reflective colour so the colour of the concrete is casting a green shade on the walls. Once you get some flooring down it'll be bright white as it is supposed to be!
tint is in rooms without concrete floors as well.
The green floors and greenery outside is the reason your walls look green.

Those walls may actually be white, and picking up a green tint from that light waves reflecting off the coating on the concrete. You may notice a change once you start installing your floors, and other things into the house.
I was about to make the same comment. It's definitely picking up the color from the floor. Throw some tarps on the floor and the color will change.

I wouldn't worry about the walls looking green, likely just reflecting the hues from the floor. In reality, its ability to do that means its actually a pretty good white.
Once the rooms get floors and furniture they'll be white. The rooms that don't look too green right now are probably the ones with tile or something else covering the concrete.

Looks like the paint is reflecting the natural light bouncing off the concrete giving it a green tint. White paint will always reflect the colours around it. Once you get some flooring and furniture in there, you'll be golden.

Also your windows might be adding to that tint as well. I redid my windows recently and everything got a similar tint because of the UV protection in the windows. Wonder if that color is the same at night with the interior lights on...
same thing I wanted to say. its actually white, but it just reflects the bounce light from the nature around the house, plus the concrete and it just makes it look like green.

That “army green” sealant layer on your floor is causing that green tint to the white paint. White reflects a lot. Wait until you put your flooring in and you will have the white you are looking for.
I think youre right, the need to paint a piece of sheetrock and take it outside
you could put a white drop cloth over the floor to check whether the light reflected off the floor is changing the apparent color of the walls.

It’s the light reflecting off of the concrete. Any floor you choose with that much natural light coming in will reflect to the walls in some way.
Matt still doesn't seem to understand that we want to see all the "not very exciting" stuff. I'm planning to build my own house soon, I need as much boring info as I can get.

I’m not even a painter but as soon as he mentions his green floors I knew that’s why the walls look green
I think the green tint might be a reflection from the concret floor... the floor is a light brown/grey/green and the white walls could just be reflecting it all over the room... so when you put furniture, flooring, carpet, etc. in it'll look better

People with $ paint each room individually, tile the rest, and each painted room has an accent wall, painted in a different color, or colour. It is fine Matt.

The green tint is probably coming from the light shining through the UV coating on the windows, which is usually a greenish coating, then being amplified by the green bouncing off the floor sealer.
Make the infinity edge pool have a glass wall on the western side, so the sunset illuminates the water.
Thank you for posting these. It is nice seeing the finishing work. It would be interesting to do a walk through showing all of the rooms. Like number of bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. So maybe you will do that once it is all completed. The finishing part is often the more fun part as you see it coming together. Keep the vids like this coming.

You lucked out buying all the wood you needed before they sky rocketed in price. Could you image how much more expensive it would have been
houses are now DOUBLE, TRIPLE, EVEN QUADRUPLE the price to build now. The only way for the problem to stop is if people stop buying the stuff and those greedy executive bastards feel the effects and their stocks suffer. Everyone suffers but those major wood execs. Home depot/Lowes/Wood supply stores, US the consumers, The saw mills, all contractors, all home builders, are all in jeopardy. This madness needs to stop, there is no shortage! That is just a made up excuse that will be reused and is getting old just as the excuse of covid, which has very well died down here. People are working now and half the year has gone by, so what's the next excuse?
Problem will be when everyone stops and then it lowers it will get bought out and their will be an actually shortage.
Facts, take plywood for example. Tryna to build a house in Alaska and before 1 sheet was like $7-8, now it’s like $70-80. Prices grew exponentially!

Thus thousands of restaurants are building outdoor seating areas. With the quarantine happening, Hundreds of millions of people are buying wood to do renovations on their houses and other small projects. I love how much attention went to how the "floor is OD green"... I don't know much about paint but I know light reflection is a thing. The "green" floor is reflecting green light on to the white walls. Looks amazing Matt and Mere! Keep up the amazing amount of work you guys do!
The paint might be getting a green tint from two sources.. 1, the concrete reflecting light onto the walls & 2, your windows have a coating to give you at least an E366 rating for energy efficiency. That coating is usually a shade of green, tinting your walls as well.
Yellow and blue make green
So, Matt, the way light works is, it travels in a linear direction until it hits a surface. Then it bounces off that surface, taking with it the color of that surface. You have a lot of green foliage around the house, plus you have a bare cement floor that appears to be a khaki green. Mix that in with the glossy white walls and you've got greenish-white walls. Wait until the floors and lighting are done to make any repainting decisions. Also, check the colors during sunrise or sunset, and also at night. You should see differences in the colors that won't be green.

You're a painter, look up the color code for "simply white" paint. It has a green tint.

Yall are freaking out about nothing, the walls are reflecting the colors coming in from the windows. Green trees and shrubs/grass and blue tints are from the sky. When you fill up the house with furniture and stuff you will see it less and if you go around and put a reflective tint on the windows you will see it even less.

My girlfriend is a decorator and she said they have found out the green tint in the windows are making paint colors change. You could do bright white and it would still have that green tint do to the tint in the windows. The house looks great
I agree with this. If you put a heat blocking tint on all your windows, the green will go away. Go look at the walls once the sun has gone down and I bet they are stark white, or whatever color the light source is.

Done that exact same tile basket weave accent on 100 floors and it turns out pretty cool. I like the fish scales too. Done a one similar for a couple on a big backsplash that had that scale look but was outlined in 1/4in wide brass. Don't worry Merest dear has some good eye for what looks good

I think the color of the floor is giving the walls their tint. When you put in the wood flooring it should give the walls a brown tint. White reflects all the colors that hit it, so if green from the floor hits it it reflects more green than any other color because it is getting more green light hitting it.
The float glass they use for windows has a slight green tint causing the light to reflect green off the walls, and the floors dont help. Once you get blinds, indoor lighting, and carpet the walls will be white

I don't know if it's because you suggested the walls have a green hue to them that I could see it or not but I don't they look bad even if that were the case. I think just keep going and it will turn out great. The fireplaces, tiles and beams are all beautiful. That will be a magnificent place for the pool. Good spot to relax while enjoying the wildlife and the view. Glad you decided to do an update. 🙂

Been a builder for 25 years and I can tell you that the light coming through your Low-E glazed windows is reflecting off the floors and casting that green tint on the walls. Low-E coating has a greenish tint to it. The color of your walls will look white once your finished floor coverings are installed.
The gym floor has brown floors and no green walls show up! It’s a reflection! Will change once you get your furniture in too! Also you have a lot of windows with reflections from all the trees & grass out side that’ll cause the change in wall color!
I painted a bathroom a smokey taupe color. Turned out to be baby poop brown. "It's easy to repaint, don't worry honey". 3 years later we moved, still baby poop brown.

The green on the floors is probably the reason they have a green tint on the walls. As soon as you put the flooring in I would bet that green you are seeing goes away
