    Loved it when board makers actually made the mobo's have color outside of just leds.

    Ceramic capacitors short circuit during momentary voltage increases. This is quite popular. It is usually caused by filtration problems in SMS power supplies. to pc
    Audio systems connected via 3.5mm may encounter instantaneous voltage between +12v and +90v due to the opamp problem. There is also a short circuit problem in the Electrolyte solid capacitors on Gigabyte motherboards. It is one of the rare problems. Good job.

    I think that Sorin say: "no capacitor no shorted capacitor". Thank you for sharing, next video fixing 12v adapter :D.

    I have a Gaming PRO, after some tinkering I can't understand what is siphoning power from the BIOS (it only gets 0.45V instead of 1.8).
    I suspect another component that sits at around 50+°C doing nothing. Debug LED sits at Cpu error as BIOS isn't working.
    Now I'll inspect thoroughly with a camera for broken caps. Watching gave me an idea :)

      Glad that i was able to help you! If you have a boardview you can also check specificly what is on the 1.8V line and inspect those components!

    Those tiny MLCC caps are very vulnerable, and can die from any number of reasons. The issue being that the ceramic layers are very very thin and brittle.

    So, did you replace that capacitor before you did the final testing, or did you leave it of and is everything working fine without it?
    Thanks for a very informative vid, hope you can fix the adapter

      Different discords like Electronic repair school for example. Sometimes you can just google for them, but most off them are for sale and you will have to purchase them. I also often buy them.

    Wonderful work, I also buy from eBay, do you only repair AMD boards only?
    I have one AMD board that does not turn on with CPU installed what could be wrong?

    • @MainboardMedic
      @MainboardMedic  5 месяцев назад

      No i do all board, but i like to do amd. Well the obvious stuff would be CPU 12V to ground and CPU 12V to VCORE. Also check the other CPU Voltages like 0.9V i think it is, if that is present on the board. There are like "logic" voltages for the CPU as well that might be bad.

    I've also learnt something ..without a thermal cam its virtually impossible to fix boards with this size.

      Jap, using IPA or your finger would take ages on this board, would be easier just to blow the cap up at that point or wait for it to boil!

    Can you please tell where I can locate the power bottom on motherboard. So I can manually power on by shorting

    • @MainboardMedic
      @MainboardMedic  2 месяца назад

      That would be PSON. That is on the 24 pin the 4th pin from the bottom on the right. Connect that to gouind and it will start. But be careful with this, it could destroy something on the board!
