Everything is bound but I cannot set this thing up. I’ve been trying to flash the FC but it didn’t work. I’m new in this and have no clue what to do next. Can you help ?
Couple of things to try if you bought the PNP version and can not see control stick movements after pairing DJI radio remote with your Vista unit: 1. Be sure to pair yoyr DJI goggles to the Vista unit FIRST then pair DJI remote to Vista unit SECOND 2. Vista control transmission using DJI transmitter uses SBUS so check your Betaflight Configuration tab to be sure SBUS is selected 2. DJI actually uses 2 different SBUS types, SBUS and SBUS_FAST, and they are not compatible. So your transmitter could be set to SBUS while the Vista unit is set to SBUS FAST also known as HDL. Hi @AndyRC have just purchase my very first kwad this Rekon, could i ask what batteries would be best for some great flight time? for 6s version? i am pretty new to fpv and still learning about batteries :/ also if you could recommend any godd spare props i would really appreciate your help, thank you kindly sir :)
Question - The Rekon 5 has a built in current meter and the Betaflight readout for "current sensing" is way way way off. Like I'm pulling 30+ amps at 45% throttle on a li-ion. (Which would toast the battery). Has anyone calibrated the Zeus flight controller and got a proper readout on amp draw?
Hi Andy, great review as always! I'm looking to buy the analogue version of this quad however I would like to try and put a Caddx Loris in it. Would it fit do you think?
Dont go 4 inch props. If you want freestyle/dynamic cruise it, try new Gemfan 4525 prop for a lightweight setup or give a try on Gemfan 5126-2 biblade prop for long-range, although they definitely want to use those support brases for stiffer setup.
Good review. Can all boards handle powering the vista and gopro at the same time? I thought the FC could not provide the current but seems to work for you.
Andy nice vid again, have you tried inav lately for freestyle, its a lot better than it used to be and as a great RTH it will land and shutdown. close proximity at full throttle not the best. i fly one of my quads freestyle with inav on and as long as you are not at racing speeds works just great. you do need a compass though.

Hey Andy, I just got the Rekon 5 6s version. I'm a bit disappointed at the tune. It seems to have quite a bit of prop wash and even some wobbles during a punch out. Did you end up doing any additional tuning on yours? Have you noticed vibes and prop wash?
This model looks great and your neighbours will appreciate how quite it is. However, I don't really get the long rear arms. Wouldn't stability and durability be better with some sort of H frame hybrid? And while the thicc bolts provide more area to distribute the pressure there are also more carbon fibers that don't go through the whole length providing strength. But that's just theory, maybe the Rekon 5 does do decently in crashes.
I put the GPS on all my quads, (I have the roma f5 and it comes like all the others, unprotected. ..) then I slipped the wire of the GPS in a copper braid with the sheath thermo above and a small wire set to negative on either the pdb or the esc. and I have the gps in 1min cold, and 20 seconds hot. however it is BN220, set at 10hz, with a baud rate of 57000, it works perfect. I don't understand why they make drones mounted with gps, but without shielding, and it sometimes works piecemeal .. you have to dismantle everything to do it anyway, and solder .. (if you want a gps which works....)
Just picked one of these up and the presets on the board were insane. P terms in single digits while I in the 100s. Also refused to let me turn on air mode in the config. Reflashed to BF4.2 and it flies better but I am unable to get rid of the mid throttle oscillations and they seem to keep cropping up regardless of what I try. Any advice? Anything close to a decent tune seems to generate them.
I just flash my LR quads to iNav, and have never looked back. I tried Betaflight RTH, but definitely don't trust it to bring my quad back every time, and almost lost one twice thanks to BTFL. iNav doesn't fly quite as well though...
