love that you made this video because hopefully more people get into begonias and they become more accessible for everyone. begonias feel like a niche plant sometimes lol
I love this video thank you for showing all of your excitement. I volunteer in a begonia garden with some master begonia gardeners. It’s pretty amazing to watch them flower.
I got my first begonia, an angel wing, at a plant swap in June and it's grown so quickly! It felt so rewarding so I just got another one, a begonia soli-mutata. Love your video as always
i've had 5 of the most sheen and beautiful begonia rex silver lace in diff colours for 2 years now and they were starting to take up too much space so a few months ago i decided to pot three of them together. fast forward i now have two and a few very floppy leftovers from the experiment. i've since then gotten a ferrox and have been dredding to repot it, so this video is heaven sent. i'm gonna try my luck with dranage layer and cross my fingers i get it right this time. thank you. this is the second time your content lines up with a mini crisis in my plant life and helps me get the joy back. love you and your channel and it's always such a pleasure to spend time with you and your collection ☺
my boyfriend has a begonia rex "Helen Tuepel", now i'm growing cuttings of it, it's beautiful 😍it has a particular leaf, black, with reflective spots and can change from silver to green to pink, depending on the light
If you take picture with flashlight of Lukuana you will see it turns blue-ish. I have a quite big Lukuana and I love her. Easy and fast growing. NO fuss 😊thanx for sharing your collection. Tips om Beautiful begonias is maurice amey and pink minx❤
I'm just starting my plant journey and I am obsessed with appearance to begonias, but they intimidate me. I really want a begonia maculata, they're just stunning.
I have a bog standard polka dot cane begonia. Had it about 5 years always lived outside. Undercover usually. My sister in law looked after it while we between houses she plonked it in her driveway in full Australian sun. It survived quite well actually. It now lives still outside but in an undercover porch and it loving it. It's about a metre high full of cane in a terracotta pot supporting itself and flowering madly. Its actually quite tough
i rescued a plant that was really on it's last leg and super cheap, turns out, it's a cute spotted begonia, I think Begonia maculata, the leaves come in a wrinkle and gradually open, getting bigger, it's fun to watch.
I just ordered a Begonia thelmae. :) I have gotten into begonias the last couple of months and am most excited about my Sinbad. I hope it gets as nice and big as yours. :) Looking forward for more begonia content from you. :)
I moved my Begonias away from bright grow lights, because they were drying up, even when a foot or so under a light. I think they are "bottom of forest floor" and seem to prefer lower light. My Rexs like a little bit of sun and go reddish in Summer, but the leaves are so paper thin that I think they just like it mostly shady and damp 🪴
I've got three begonia maculata plants and the older one has been flowering for the past month (I keep it in my east facing window next to the orchids) and a begonia maui sunset: both kinds are lovely and colourful just the way I like it 😊
.. Begonia 'Coralina de lucerna' is an old cane bogonia, not easily found in stores or garden centers, but best found as cuttings from private.. Like most cane Begonias they do best in semi shade/shade, out of sunlight.. They do not like grow lights either.. Their leaves turn bottle green or very dark green when mature, backside dark red, size of leaves can be up to 35-40 cm.. Plant can grow up to 160 cm..
I don't know what kind I have but it's doing really well!!! Love it, it's spotted, polka dotted looking with big leaves. It looks like a corelina based off what you've shown.
I love begonias and I love that you are getting into them. My favourite in my home at the moment is my begonia 'boomer' because it is growing so vigurously and it has such pretty leaves.
Love this video! I’m defiantly begonia obsessed right now, lol! I just ordered a begonia venosa, they are fuzzy and more succulent-ish! I’m super excited to get it! You’ll have to look them up!
I have a Beefsteak Begonia and if anyone wants a HARDY and easy Begonia, this is the one to try. Fair warning: It grows like crazy, in the right conditions. The leaves are red underneath, and the flowers grow from a stalk and are beautiful! Also, you can propagate from cutting up a healthy leaf.
Begonia Paulensis or Spider web begonia was on my radar for a couple of years! Finally found one and purchased on EBay! Stunning plant! Love your videos and content!
Words cannot describe how happy it makes me that you're a begonia girlie now! 😁 Love your collection and especially your chlorosticta - it's one of my favs as well! Some of my other favs are: sarawak, baik, mantuk, u690, roseopunctata, baramensis, sumatra utara, dracopelta x sarawak, daunhitam and solimutata. Of course, there are so many absolutely stunning and diverse begonias, it's hard to choose! I'm excited to see how your collection grows.
Beautiful collection! I just came out from the begonia rabbit hole (I live in Singapore and they are much affordable here) after collecting over 20 under 2 months 😅 and swiftly went down the Alocasia hole 😂
I'm so happy you're jumping on the begonia train 😂 I love them too ❤️ I think you should cut the leaves off of the thrips begonia unless you're treating weekly because otherwise new baby thrips are likely going to hatch out of the leaves. For ones I recommend- melanobullata and/ or ferox, natunaensis (sp?), grey feather, silver dollar, cleopatra 😅 are a few I have or are on my list ❤
I LOVE my begonia tiger kitten! It’s an escargot/Rex begonia which are typically known to be more finicky and more of a terrarium begonia, but it has done so well for me that I have one in my terrarium as well as many propagations and a big hanging pot that’s in my laundry room (which is in my basement and I’m in the Midwest US so it gets cooler down there and the thing is thriving!) I also got a begonia Fannie Moser (thanks to Wild Fern influencing me 😂). It’s dark with smaller silver flecks and ruffled edges! My amphioxus is my only begonia to have bloomed so far! I’ve even had cuttings bloom! It does seem to be a little more needy than my others but it’s one of my favorites so I don’t mind.
I bought 2 cane begonias (double dot and polka dot). I love them, those angel wings 🪽 ❤. I keep them in self watering pots because they’re thirsty girls.
I was never a begonia person either. Earlier this year I got the bug real bad, in part due to the rescue I still have from last year. I got a bit of collection (around 10ish) and they have just been dropping like flies. To be fair, I may have not gave them enough attention due to some depression over the summer. I am feeling g better now but I'm scared to try again. I still have 3 left that are on the struggle bus and I'm trying not to lose them.
Hi Claire, your collection is beauiful. I love them all. I have the Sinbad and she is blooming white flowers. I thought they were supposed to be Pink, but maybe it just depends. Has yours flowered yet?
Great episode and looking at your reaction you are definitely a begonia girl lol I love your birthday present but that's sook expensive. Maybe you can send me a cutting next year❤
hi clare, i saw your video about your wishlist plant. are you always looking about an alocasia sarian? i ve a mature one and i love to share (free) so if you want combs or a baby i'm absolutely pleased to help an other plant addict ;)
That one begonia you don't like has high contrast, as well as a lot of colour; could that be the problem? A begonia on my wish list is the Begonia Maurice Amey.
Begonia amphioxus just doesn't like the draft and only prop in perlite ,moss doesn't work neither does water , mine flowers like crazy and if you get small leves it's either needs reporting or there isn't a lot of light
Why am I getting your videos dubbed in Hindi .. even though I speak Hindi I am unable to understand much as the translations are awful.. and I do not get an option to choose to watch the original English version. Just wanted to let you know about the issue .. hope it can be resolved.. ❤😊
love that you made this video because hopefully more people get into begonias and they become more accessible for everyone. begonias feel like a niche plant sometimes lol
Begonias are everywhere where I am, (Aus), at very reasonable prices too...the whole "Begonia trend" has been and gone here, but remain very popular

I love the way you are growing your begonia.. it makes me feel like I should try begonia again.

That last Begonia is a stunner! It’s so unique!
I’ve just bought my very first Begonia and am absolutely I live with it!!! Thank you so much for your helpful video 💚🪴
My favorite begonia is a Fanny Moser! Super gothic looking

Just started trying to grow begonia. So far so good😊

I’ve always felt the same way about begonias and recently I actually just got my very first begonia and i love it so so much

I’d chop the black forest’s leaves and give it some humidity. They bounce back beautifully ❤
I really love the corallina too, beautiful plant! Mine is still tiny, but it grows very fast, once it's going.
Love this video! I’m defiantly begonia obsessed right now, lol! I just ordered a begonia venosa, they are fuzzy and more succulent-ish! I’m super excited to get it! You’ll have to look them up!

I second this. I love my beef steak. Mine is about to flower and I'm so excited😂
Begonia Paulensis or Spider web begonia was on my radar for a couple of years! Finally found one and purchased on EBay! Stunning plant!
Love your videos and content!
I have my eye on a Begonia Paulensis as well. Beautiful plant.
Oh that last begonia you showed was stunning. Can’t wait to see how it looks like when it grows up some 😊
You are glowing! ❤

I am not a good begonia mommy, but I want to be!
Please let Ross know I’ve been eyeing their creations from afar! 😜 so cool! 🤗 🌱 💀
You have to get an Iron Cross Begonia, it’s sooooo beautiful, you’re not gonna regret it.
Beautiful collection! I just came out from the begonia rabbit hole (I live in Singapore and they are much affordable here) after collecting over 20 under 2 months 😅 and swiftly went down the Alocasia hole 😂
You must get the gryphon begonia!!!

Love your videos and plant knowledge you share will you be doing a snake plant or succulent tour next?
Your begonia collection is beautiful 😀🇨🇦
I keep my begonia amphioxus in a cloche, i really think you’d like it tons !!

I cannot seem to keep my begonias happy. They're juvenile & seem to love staying damp, but I'm bad for letting them dry out 😅😅
Yaaaaassssss!!! Thanks Claire! As timely as ever!
Hi Claire, your collection is beauiful. I love them all. I have the Sinbad and she is blooming white flowers. I thought they were supposed to be Pink, but maybe it just depends. Has yours flowered yet?
Beautiful plants
This all reeks of love, if you ask me Claire… 😘
Great episode and looking at your reaction you are definitely a begonia girl lol I love your birthday present but that's sook expensive. Maybe you can send me a cutting next year❤
What’s the benefit of the soil on top method, as apposed to straight semi hydro?.

Begonia amphioxus just doesn't like the draft and only prop in perlite ,moss doesn't work neither does water , mine flowers like crazy and if you get small leves it's either needs reporting or there isn't a lot of light
@Aspen_like_the That is one on my wishlist, so that's good info to know since I live in a drafty apartment. Thank you.

Apparently this is a new RUclips feature. Here's how to fix it:

It’s because you’re dating Ross and he is a begonia for sure.
