For over 15 years, Mark Newman has been at the forefront of network science. His contributions form much of the backbone of the field today, especially in the areas of clustering, community detection and large scale network analysis. Prof. Newman's Herculean "Networks: An Introduction" is an essential summary of the rapidly expanding field of network science and used across a wide array of disciplines from sociology to epidemiology.
Please join us as Prof. Newman talks about his past contributions, the emergent interdisciplinary field of network science and some of the current key challenges in the analysis of networks across the social and physical sciences.
