    Since I use only small cameras and tripods, I use the Arca quick release you showed (exactly the one) and removed the small screws on each side of the plate, so I can slide it out, instead of open it up completely, one small twist and slide. Is almost as fast and hassle free as your new system. What I don’t like about the iFootage is, that you can’t use long QR plates for adjusting position. It is always centered, which is not always preferred (i.e. cameras without centered tripod mount; or adjusting for center of gravity with a long lens or for nodal etc.) Other than that it seems great and suitable for professional gear.

    I've recently purchased quite a few joby gorilla pods. It is currently working for my situation. However I have a small camera (SL1) the moby build quality is plastic and plates lack consistency. I had to file one down so it would fit in my other joby heads. ARCA swiss good stuff but some camera plates have slider pins underneath that will not let you dismount a camera and place it on a table without it tipping over. The sea star appears to have a flush flat bottom that would remedy this. Thank you Kevin and congrats on 100k!

    • @Debtfreehomesteaders
      @Debtfreehomesteaders 4 года назад +1

      @@BasicFilmmaker I hadn't thought about using it on the Joby. Not a bad idea. I have just used the Joby heads as a cheap effective way to save time moving all of my microphones and cameras around on different tripods and Sliders and C stand overhead microphone rigs. I can buy just the swivel head and Camera mount for $40 or I can buy the whole tripod and head and Camera mount for under $20 gently used on eBay. Cheaply built it fits my budget and helps save time. But I am interested in the quality of the sea star and the flat bottom profile. Definitely on the list 4 upcoming buys. Thanks again.

    • @BasicFilmmaker
      @BasicFilmmaker  4 года назад +1

      That sounds great will. The reason why I question it is I wasn’t sure if you were trying to mount something like a little action camera onto a small tripod that was flexible or something like that. For a flat bottom on a tripod, a mono pod, etc., I highly recommend these as they are stable and make moving your gear A breeze.
