What a beautiful video. We just finished our El Chepe experience, it is a trip of a life time! We could make an one hour video of it, all those views...
Beautiful video! Just a little correction. They're not "tarahumara indians", they're "rarámuri". Only the mountain range they inhabit is called Tarahumara.
I took the trip in June of 2013. It was hot and there were fires. The smoke was thick. It felt like I was traveling through hell. As we climbed above the smoke and the temperature cooled it was a beautiful trip. I would like to take the train again in cooler weather and revisit acquaintances made.
Thanks for you thoughtful comment. The trip for us was one in a life time - We had hoped to go some 10 years back but the train service was canceled, because bandits where attacking the train - much safer now...
We have beautiful country, beautiful places, but we are like more silent people in this aspect, most of the 1rs world people believe mexicans don't have nothing but desert, that we are hungry and living in to extreme poverty 🤣
It is a wonder of the world , just not as well known....and that is not necessarily a bad thing. Remember this canyon became accessible only in the 60's and is still off the beaten path. Even today the area is not considered particularly safe by outsiders and is probably not by an interstate highway so it may always be less well known. Cancun is a very popular place but not somewhere I am very interested in going, unlike the Cooper Canyon where I hope to visit some day.
We had delayed our trip by 5 year because in (2015) of the bandits stopping the train - when we went not such danger was active - Check the train company for updates! The video was delayed being edited.

@@martinguerrero5510 Thanks for answering the question - we had prepaid and where apart of a larger tour - so not sure what it cost - but worth every penny.
Its a hard job finding music that is not copyrighted and/or available to procure - better lowering the volume, or have your own music play in the background. abet no apologies as the whole task of traveling, shooting the video is the smaller part, the larger segment is editing, in this case some 10 hours of footage had to cut down to 15 minuets. That job was near 20 hours and nobody is paying for this to be made - Its a pastime - but I appreciate the time you've taken to post; which then allows the opportunity to provide my response - many thanks and safe travels. Cheers from David and Tracey the Blue Planet Travelers

Great vacation to beat the heat ! ...
Differences between mexican deserts compare to other countries, Mexicans deserts are green with thousands of different species flora and fauna ;)
Great video!
Question: Why isnt this canyon a wonder of the world like the Grand Canyon?

Politics...⁉️⁉️⁉️
I have read about the safety issues for travelers in Sinaloa and Chihuahua. Comments from those who have been? Thanks.
