I love how the announcers, who seem to be all professional and you would think get annoyed at an untrained dog in this event, absolutely LOVE seeing puppers have all the fun lol... they completely roll with it
Fergus and the others at Crufts who don't run the course properly may never win the agility contest but i guarantee they will win the hearts of the audience and the entertainment award (there should be such a thing). Their time on the course will be what the audience will enjoy and remember the most. Its an endearing example of how funny and playful our pets can be. Love it!
@Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this this event Is all about the dogs having fun, the course is just a formality, these dogs were abused beyond belief, my border collie was chained up for his first year of life and didn't know what love or a toy or treat even was, and we just started doing it in the rescue portion and hardly any dog actually completes the course correctly, its all about the dogs coming out of their shell
There's a good reason why Rescue Dog Agility is as well attended as it is. The regular show dogs are fun, and seeing something like a bulldog tear through the agility course is always surprising, but the rescue dogs are just so much more relatable.
I had a really severe panic attack lasted until a few minutes ago.. then I opened youtube and this was on my feed. Made me smile, among my tears and runny nose. Gosh, what lovely creatures they are, dogs. Thank you so much, Fergus, Squeaky Chicken and Teddy. You have no ideas how this helped me. Thank you.
Im actually SHOCKED they got a Russell to do the course at all. On a good day maybe. . Most of the time they sort of do what they want. But have you ever seen them kill a rat. Omg. That shaking motion breaks their neck, and its a gory mess. Obvious what they were bred for. Now we want them to sit happy on the sofa. ROFL.
Katie Rosa Sooo fun - but absolute demons! 😂😂😂. I ran into a couple with their little JR (mine was at home) and I asked how old she was. They said, “She’s 9 - so she’s starting to settle down a little!” 😳. Mine is only 3!
@@tracyplantagenet9798 😂😂😂 yeah, they are little bundles of energy! And the better you care for them, the longer it takes for them to mellow out. But there's never a full moment with a JRT! 😂
@Carol Howard they certainly aren't ones to be pushed around, that's for sure! 😂 And they won't be told they can't either. No matter what the obstacle ... Even age. 😂😂😂
@Carol Howard that's funny because I had a sheltie that was also like that. She was this little 20lb fluff ball bossing around my 90 and 75 lb boxer mixes! 😂 It really is a funny thing to watch. Especially the hurt look in the boxer mixes faces when they'd get in "trouble" with her and she'd tell them what's up! 😂
My Jack Russell is 16 years old now. He is mostly orange with white, shorter legs, with larger front paws. The best of the Jack's. Very patient and cunning with lots of energy.
You sir know how a Jack Russell works. They are certainly independent at times and it seems like it's always the worst time. Aaaahhhhh... the joys of living with a Jack rascally terror.
thats so true I ran Agility with my parents Jack Russell and it was 50/50 when you was doing comp runs if he was more into sniffing or he would run like a champ because he was fast and skilled when he wanted to
Phil Herbox it’s a big part of why we love them I think. My boy was stubborn as heck and too clever for his own good but he knew his own mind and heart!
For example my Truman was laser accurate in pinpointing a termite or other pest problem but he’d only do it if he liked the people. Otherwise he was like “You raised your voice to my mom so I don’t care if bugs destroy your home!”
I would much rather have a fun loving & happy dog enjoying life like this little guy than a lot of dogs. He's a joy to watch. He tried really hard but he just wanted to play with his toy more.
I miss the legend that is the Crufts commentator (and former Blue Peter presenter) Peter Purves. He would have relished commentating on Fergus and his rubber pig and Teddy getting on with his/her bit (PP's commentary of Ollie's antics at Crufts for two years were superb). I'm sure the other commentators will relax and get into the swing of things when it comes to the rescue dog's Agility in time. I love the rescue dog Agility time because it's not just done for fun but to show how great rescue dogs are and for the charities that take care of them until they find their forever home.
What a joy to watch - just the tonic to get my mind off the news at the moment. Well done Fergus and his trainer. I have a two year Jack and she is difficult to train as she tends to suit herself but her recall is very good. I’m been meaning have a go at agility as it looks like a lot of fun. :-)
I love that these videos comment sections are all full of people who just love seeing dogs have fun, be silly, and joyful! We can learn so much from these furbabies who just live life , go their own way, and are proud! 🥰
Simultaneously being “mum” to 3 Jacks, I TOTALLY understand just how stubborn these little guys and dolls can be. Not one single day is like any other day. The breed keeps you on the run because you cannot anticipate what’s going on in their twisted little minds. 🐾🐶🤪
I've so much respect for the human when his/her dog feel free to do whatever it feels like. That shows for sure that guy never threatened or punished the dog during training. Again I'm not saying all the well trained and focused dogs are punished, just saying the one that "do whatever" was most likely are not.
I agree. He was quite happy to just play an have fun despite the handler trying to get him to do what he was trained to do but the dog was obviously happy and relaxed enough to know that if he didnt want to, he didnt have to and there would be no consequences for that. Lovely happy little dog
That’s so Jack Russell: All about bragging with their toys! 🤣 Mine has the time of his life being chased around the house when he steals one of our shoes 😁
That would've been my Jack Russell Milo to a tee if I'd ever even tried to do something like that with him! I probably would have ended up on the floor, rolling around laughing! 🤣
I fostered a Jack Russell Terrier when she was 15 years old. It was one of the best experiences of my life. She was awesome. Unfortunately she was a breeder dog at a puppy mill. Has she passed away of breast cancer which I did not know dogs could get. As much as a pain to me to go through the experience with her I wouldn't change a thing and I miss her terribly I'm watching this has made me remember that so thank you
what is absolutely essential to remember is that the pups who are their own dog remind us that none of this is really important. What is important is that bond between that pup and the owner/handler and the love that they have developed. Fergus reminds us of the wisdom of animals. They teach us to remember what is important in life and, no disrespect intended, being the fastest Crufts in your category is not the most important. Great if you are, but even greater is if you have that relationship regardless of where you end up in the competition.
I’m probably wrong but Fergus doesn’t look like a JRT. He looks like he’s at least part beagle. None of that matters to me, he’s a beautiful little dog and I enjoyed his performance very much.
a jack russell stole one of my teammate's glove during a little league game. Took almost a half hour for both teams to finally corner him and get it back while he had the time of his life sprinting around the outfield
They really should have a category called Had the Most Fun.
YES
YES PLEASE
Or another one called "The most entertaining".
@@fireskycam9889 Agreed. Can't get enough of these silly, fun pups.
Or encouragement award
Can we take a minute an give Teddy a standing ovation for not losing concentration during his run??
I know! I was thinking the same thing!
For a dog to ignore a near collision like that is actually quite impressive.
Extra points for Teddy ignoring Fergus and his toy.
I loved the off-stage squeaks whilst Teddy was on. Classic.

@@silencegaming3227 so these dogs were rescued and trained for fun??
Top comment, we don't deserve these doggos sometimes

I miss Olly!
Jack Russels are brilliant, loyal and very smart dogs, I've had three in my time and they all had the heart of a lion.
Announcer: Here comes Fergus +🐔.
Meanwhile, a diligent Teddy is just running along the proper course and does not pay attention to the toy.
😝👏❤🐶🐶
I always love crufts for not being so serious and enjoying the dog for all of its quirkiness! Always puts a smile on my face!
I've just love this Crufts thing. In my humble opinion Jacks are too smart to train. They train humans.
My friend has a Jack/-Beagle he is so enchanting
@@mariaconway405 interesting. i love jack's but i also like beagles.
Best dogs in the world (I M H O )
