i don't think its matter of "normaliz(ing) guys being fans of women for who they are, Its a matter that there is just plane not a lot of artists worth looking up to as a musician, What makes H.E.R. different than most newer artists, is that Gabriella and her band are just that, a band, actually playing music, and actually passionate about it. If there were more female artists that cared about the musicianship of making music instead letting a bunch of record label executives make the music, then more guys would be fan of female artists. but because the people in charge of who gets record deals and who doesn't (that importance is fading but i'll get to that) if a female is noticed by a label then she is marketed mostly on her looks, and less care is (if any really) given to the music, (I mean when that girl from DR phil gets a record deal you know its not about the musicianship or craftmanship of making good music) I'm not going to listen to cardi b because of the way she looks, i'm going to listen for the music (i personally think her music is trash) and if that music lakes any real passion or human soul then that "artist" is a write off for me, (regardless of being male or female. people like Gabriella, who it seems have made it up the ladder on musicianship and talent appeal to me, I'm not even a huge R&B guy, (metalhead) but the simple fact is that companies like Fender, or Gibson or whatever don't make you signature instruments based on how you look. I'm not looking at fenders choice to make her a guitar as a gate keeping kind of validation, i'm just pointing it out that you need to be a musician for that to happen to you. Female artists like Billie Eilish, appeal to me as well because of the love for the music that she makes. even if their sound isn't generally what im listening to. Luckily the power that record labels have is diminishing and places like youtube and such (and the fact that decent recording gear is fairly cheap) is making it easier for people to make their own music and get heard. when more females take a hold of making music and focus on that then their fans (and subsequently male fans) and admirers will come to appreciate them for who they are and what they do, but if they rest on the fact that they can get a label to make their music for them and rely on being pretty, then nobody except the vapid and shallow are going to take notice, and at that they aren't really admiring them for who they are, they are just taking in eye candy.

It’s funny, because especially the songs here in this video, and how they are performed, doesn’t touch my heart at all😂 the guitar solos seem to be a ton of noodling to me, without any red line in the Solo, any melodic target etc… IMO she can’t be compared to the great guitarists at all… but who of the youngsters can be? Brought me to tears twice watching this! This music, H.E.R performance and testimony put me in a state of flight emotionally. I’m 63 and not of color, yet all my musical past was abridged and brought to a new place where I have found myself renewed and reinvented musically, emotionally! I have an 11 year old that plays guitar, piano, and drums, sings like an angel. As soon as he’s awake, had breakfast and is ready for the day, I will introduce him to H.E.R. And all the possibilities she has laid before him.
I'm not only impressed with her musicianship (vocals, guitar, keys) but her presence is absolutely breath taking. She is feeling every word and every note in each song. Thank GOODNESS there is true talent and art being made these days. H.E.R. is hands down one of the most timeless artists of the generation.

I watched most of the video and she's pretty talented as a songwriter and guitarist although this type of music really isn't my thing. Sure there are better technical players, but I mean Blink182 got signature fenders. I have nothing against Blink182. I own most of their albums but guitar prodigies they are not.
