    I done Watkins path and the path just disappears very easy to lose track especially with the heights people don’t know how scary it can be at some points. Congratulations guys. From a Englishman wales is absolutely stunning. Amazing culture amazing scenery! One of my favourite places to be!

    Nice video. In '05 I walked the route along the Watkin Path to the summit and descended via the same ridge as you did. Brings back good memories. A wonderful day's outing.

    I did the same route in 1979 when I was 14 on a school trip. Watkin Path and the ridge back to our mini bus. It was spectacular. Two years later I did the Pyg track with my family. But forty three years later, I'll never do it again on foot so it's so fab to see it again on your hike/climb. I actually remember some of the bits of the ridge that you showed. Funny what stays in your mind. A real pleasure to watch. Thank you and I'll watch again. Safe hiking you two xxxxxx

      @@mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974 Great video , can I ask : Do the steps now cover the whole route where the scree used to be? I struggle with heights and I've been up the Watkin Path before, loved the path but the scree section has put me off doing the walk again.

    • @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974
      @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974  4 года назад +2

      @@rodhewitt6966 Thank you for your kind comments, on that walk that day they were laying down the stones where the scree and scrambling was was not shown on video so I would say it must be complete by now, of course heavy rain can wash away or damage the repairs again.

    That is a fantastic walk, I am due to holiday in Harlech in May, firs time to wales. Although I would love to make the summit of Snowdon, its not the end of the world if I dont. As I will have my young dog in tow with me. I woul dbe happy to get as far as the Tarn/Lake you have on your video and then have some lunch hand back down. How long would that take? Its likely I would stop a lot of times a) to get my breath back and b) taking copious amounts of photos

    • @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974
      @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974  2 года назад

      Hi Julie, it is a gruelling long walk, you can walk to the lake in that video easily on the the Miners path from the Pen y Pass car park but the parking charge is now £10 and has to be pre booked on line with very limited space. I would suggest another easy walk only to Llyn Idwal and back from the Ogwen Valley Centre, car park £6 plenty of room no pre booking required and fantastic scenery, check out our video on the Glyder Range thumb nail video.

    Great video & content! Thinking of doing this next week with the family - can you give me an idea of how long this same route would take assuming reasonable weather/conditions...? Thanks in advance

    • @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974
      @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974  3 года назад +1

      Hi Guido, this is a hard walk it took us 4 hours up and 4 hours back down, of course it depends on fitness and how many times you stop for photos or video shots, we were very tired when we got back, if you are going to have a go my advice to you is to make sure you all carry plenty of water in cooler bottles and take something to eat for energy, we took 4 litres of water and drank it all, we had to get water from a stream with purifying tablets in it on the route back, do check before you go if the café is open again as it has been closed due to COVID and people have run out of water, check the weather forecast before you go and take care, all the best from Epic Walks Wales.

    Great walk as always Jeff and Mandy! One question: slightly confused by your crossing and re-crossing the stone Bridge over the cascade at 4:00. Is this part of the walk or just a detour? Thanks John

    • @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974
      @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974  3 года назад +1

      Many thanks for your kind words John, just a slight detour to take some still photos of the waterfalls with the SLR camera John, we crossed the bridge to take shots from a different angle then went back across the bridge and up along the side of the stone wall and back on the proper Watkin path, it was only a small detour, many ignore this and stick to the main Watkin path, take care John from Epic Walks Wales.

      From the road car park just over 2 miles or 4 kilometres say depending on how fast you walk about 35 minutes, the entire walk is about 5 miles or 8 kilometres from the car park to the top of Snowdon summit one way.

    If you’re not good on heights, is this a good way to travel up and down Snowdon without using the railway?....lovely vid by the way!

    • @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974
      @mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974  3 года назад

      Hi Jeffrey thanks for your kind comments, if you're not good on heights I would say No Jeff, the way up via Watkin path was not to bad but the South ridge return path can be a bit tricky in parts, the easiest way up and back is the Rangers path near the village of Rhyd Ddu: N53.074047 W4.145450 or the Llanberis path at Llanberis, hope that helps and good luck with the weather, take care from Epic Walks Wales.
