- My dad is colorblind and has never been able to see color, so for Christmas this year my family got him a pair of Enchroma glasses so he could see color for the very first time!
Thank you Enchroma for bringing color to my dad's world!

One of the best enchroma videos out there. His joy is just overwhelming. Never seen a person looking at a can of mountain dew with such amazement.
Thank you so much!!! It was an overwhelming day for us all, especially him! Yes, that was too funny, he loves Mt.Dew and was so excited! haha
You haven't met gamers and skaters then 😂
After watching at least 100 enchroma videos, I can objectively say this is top 3. Great editing streamlined the video while keeping all the good stuff.
I have watched so many as well, they are so fun! Thank you so much, that means a lot to me!
I think you guys did a really good job of not overwhelming him when he first put the glasses on and letting him explore at his own pace. I see a lot of the encroma videos where the family crowd round and harass them
Thank you! We tried our best not to overwhelm him, it was hard though because its so exciting and you just want to shove everything colorful at him! haha
Peachy Pie this was such a nice video, I agree. It’s such a sensory overload to begin with I always think shhh let them take it in...
@@AllieSchweizer This is what people forget. It's so exciting and the family is excited for the person, sometimes they can't shut up for a minute! Understandable.
Agreed. But it's just excitement when families do that. They don't mean any harm.
YES! That drives me nuts! People make it all about THEM and not about the person having this mind blowing experience. People saying, "DON'T TAKE THEM OFF AND ON!"; "What colors do you see?"; "What's this color. What's that color?" And the worst thing of all, how many times they tell men, "Don't cry!"
So frickin' annoying! Just shut up and let the people experience the moment in their own way, at their own pace. Ask questions later.
This family did such a good job and this is definitely one of my all time favorite Enchroma videos.
I remember buying this for my friend, she broke down crying hard and kept saying, "our planet is beautiful!"
Awe, isn't that moment with them so beautiful, they have such an appreciation that we don't have because we take our regular sight for granted!
The things we take for granted! Always zaps me to see what it is that we don't see
"That's celery" , I am dying.
That part cracks me up every time!
Lmfaoooooo 😂🤣💀
HahahahahahahahH
One of the best enchroma videos ever aw 💙💙
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
cant agree more, exactly what I was thinking... and I watched a bunch of 'em
"THIS IS RED!" I love it! I've watched several videos of people receiving these glasses and I'm always very moved, sometimes to tears. It gives me the idea that this is what it'll be like when we get to heaven and see and hear things we never have before! As the song goes, "I can only imagine!" Scripture says, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those that love Him!"
I agree, we talked about that too, I can't imagine what it will be like!
I really like this thought
*”Are you sure this is what you guys see??!!”*
I died 😭
I knowwww! That part always makes me cry!
I just love his reaction when he first realize he is seeing different colors. His reaction is so heart warming. I am a painter and can not imagine not being able to see the brilliant colors that I put on a canvas. What a special family to do this for him.
His reaction is the best, yes, I am a photographer so I agree!
It just never gets old. I could watch these Enchroma videos all day. I’ve seen dozens of them and every one makes me more and more thankful for my God-given senses.
Nothing beats driving out in the country in Texas in the spring to see the multitude and vast variety of gorgeous colorful wildflowers.
Same!
The BEST!!!
YOUR DAD IS SO COOL!!!
I am so happy for him!🌈🌈🌈
EnChroma should get a Nobel prize.
Isabelle in Canada🍁🍁🍁
So cool that you are watching from Canada! Thank you, I think he is pretty cool too and I agree they should get a Nobel prize, they are awesome!
So pure, he's so happy!
this has to be my new favorite of the enchroma videos. He is like a kid in a candystore, discovering new sweets
I saw all of these and this is the best one I every saw . I feel like I know your family almost and I really love you Dad . You really seem like a wonderful family . Thank you for sharing this .
Awe thank you so much for the kind words, I love him too, he is the best!!!
SO beautiful! The best present ever...I am so happy that this company was able to invent this life changing product for people like your dad
I agree, Enchroma is the best! What a wonderful invention!
the star is RED???
I cried when he hugged his mum and explained what he was wearing. Only his mother would have felt that burden. As he rightly knew. He reverted back to a joyful child running to share the joy with his mother. Very touching. And she knew exactly the value it would mean to the man. Soul is full.
hell man seeing a full grown man being so happy explaining his mom he can see colors... that is so touching im literally crying....
I know right, we all cried too! Crazy how many emotions come with the beauty of seeing colors!!
I don't perfectly speak English but the emotion your dad showed us definitly speaks for itself. Hope he's still enjoying ! :)
I agree, I love how emotion can be understood in all languages! And yes, he is still enjoying them!
Must stop chopping onions!! Great video - Definitely one of the best Enchroma videos - Congratulations!! Hope you enjoyed your 1st rainbow and sunset!!
Thank you so much! :)
I hate onions , I went to the eye wash .
Amazing job. I agree that this is one on the better reaction videos. I like how you all just allowed him to enjoy the experience himself and didn't pepper him with a bunch of questions about "which color is this and which color is that" you just let him determine what he wanted to look at and went along with the flow. Nice video and your family seems really great.
I love you Dad.
How simple joys manifest themselves into grand blessings. Hand him a can of Mnt. Dew and he's thrilled, just at the color of the can. I love these vids.
One of the best videos on this topic, thank you so much for sharing! :)
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
"Look at yourself in the mirror"....."Huh"....lmao...No lie though, i cried like a newborn when he cried mom with his arms open.
haha I love how he looks at himself and then does a double take!!! I know right, I cried like a baby too and I still cry every time I rematch the dang video!
I love all the cuts of his reactions. He’s like a kid seeing the world for the first time.
That's so sweet. It's been a few days now - is he still amazed by the things he sees?
Yes! He keeps finding new colorful things to look at like the sunrise and the sunset which he got to see for the first time the other day.
@@AllieSchweizer I am happy I am not colorblind - but that experience of seeing color for the first time must be such a wonderful thing for him. I am a bit jealous. :)
thats celery !
my favorite part! lol
@@AllieSchweizer
That WAS hilarious!
😂😂😂🌈🌈🌈
To see a grown man ask “Is this what you call orange?” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Aww.. when your father hugged his mother......... ❤️
What's an even bigger blessing is to still have his mommy at his age❤️ What a wonderful thing that you all did!!
"Printer ink?" Ha, no. Printer ink is more expensive than Enchroma glasses.
“That’s celery “ 🤣 that’s so funny
Humberto Gutiérrez haha my favorite part, my brother was cracking us up!
What I take for granted on a daily basis. I have absolutely no right to complain about anything.
You good family for doing this :)
If he hasn’t seen colors before, how can he name the colors on the baloons? Totally scam! It ha been debunked so many times now!
You apparently know nothing about being color blind or about color theory lol. He can name the colors of the balloons without the glasses on because he can see the shades. So when he put the glasses on he still knows the colors even though he has never seen them as vibrant before. Not a scam at all & these glasses have not been debunked. Not sure how you could watch his genuine reaction and think the glasses are a scam. Critical thinking is key here.
@AllieSchweizer That's not how colors work. If the man truly has the very rare form of color-blindness called achromatopsia and sees the world in monochrome, he could not describe colors by their shade, as it is completely different from hue. A green can have the same shade/value as a red and vice-versa.
Stars really red?
Love it.
Happy for your dad, he finally knows what celery is all thanks to your brother.
hahah! I know, my brother was so excited he just kept pointing out everything like my dad was actually blind, not just color blind! He's too funny! I'm glad my dad can finally see celery too!
Well sir I would just like to say.
Welcome to the world in Technicolor 👍👍😎
Wonderful. What an amazing thing to be able to give someone.❤
I loved your dad's reactions.. however.. I almost cried when your grandma explained your grandpa your dad can see colours and he felt like crying.. and was like..
Ili Qna I know, my grandparents reactions were so shocked, neither quite knew what was going on at first but they were so happy for him!!
Best video about colour blind glasses that I have seen ❤️
This is the best one I have seen by far! Wow, so pure! So happy for him ❤️🙏🏼
Christmas is literally the best time ever to give someone these glasses because for those with red/green issues, it would be an insane reveal for them how much of it they are missing with just about everything being red or green in the decorations. This makes me so happy. I loved the moment with his mom because you know his parents have seen him struggle since a young age and to finally have a dream come true to see more colors, how marvelous! Lovely family. Thank you for sharing.
The star is RED!!! Love the video
haha yes one of my fav parts, he was so excited the star was his favorite color!
What a wonderful family, thanks for sharing
Beautiful story experience!!!
I cannot even imagine not seeing color for most of my life. Color is an emotion. They mean something to everyone. I cannot fathom not ever seeing a beautiful sunset.
Kimberly Quintanilla I feel this same way! It's so crazy the small things we take for granted that others do not have.
great reaction, one of the best ever. I was so happy for him. The star is red! Adorable
Thank you! His reaction is my favorite! Even though he is colorblind red was his favorite color so he was excited to see the star was red!
You can tell what a nice guy this is in every way. Grateful to each family member even one on one when he could be out enjoying the glasses more. This gentleman is blessed even before the box opened, surrounded by loved one’s.
Thanks Greg, he is always go grateful, I love that about him! We are very blessed to have him!
I'm Brazilian!! That's amazing and so pure! !! I loved this video! !!!!
So very glad my family avoided the gene pool that has colour blindness in their DNA. I couldn’t imagine how depressing the world would appear.
I love this. His amazement and joy is great to see. Can never imagine the difference a pair of glasses can make. Wishing him many colourful years to come.
Thank you so much!
These videos are so beautiful. Turns the heart of an adult into a child again. Priceless gifts.
I’m glad you guys just let him experience it without directing his attention here and there like some other videos.
Thank you, I have gotten a few similar comments! I'm honestly surprised we didn't do that because we were all so excited! lol
One of my favorite reactions, your dad is so cute! God bless him and all your family.
Thank you so much, he is adorable!
"Let's go inside. Let's see if stuff looks different in there." About the cutest thing I've heard in my life.
Right! It gets me every time too!
His enthusiasm can’t be beat! It’s contagious! Adorable! ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful video, beautiful family.
“It was at that moment that
Mr. Schweitzer realised that he’d been living in Soviet Russian all along”.
I really appreciate the editing of this video. You hit all of the major beats and didn't linger on any particular moment too long, so it felt fresh all the way through. Thanks for that.
This comment means so much, I worked really hard on the video and it was one of the first I had ever attempted to edit! Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it!
His reaction was just so priceless..! God bless and enjoy your new colorful world..! Beautiful Christmas gift family..! 🙏💯%👍💕😊
God bless the people who invented this.....simply amazing
👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! He definitely will go bonkers in spring about all that green and the different blossoms/flowers. Thanks a lot for making recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health to all of you.
Question is, if they are completely colorblind, how are they able to identify so quickly the colors of the balloons?
Isn't that so cool! Colorblind people can usually identify all the colors before ever using the glasses. They learn to tell the difference just by the shades of gray. My dad could have named the balloons before the glasses but it would have been harder for him and took him a bit. Also colorblind people know the colors of things in their environment, such as green grass, blue sky, he knows my truck is red, and so on. So even though he had never seen the actual vibrancy of the colors he automatically knew what they all were.
@@AllieSchweizer He cannot see colors still. The brain doesn't process it properly. There is no fixing that. Putting something in front of the eyes won't change how the brain parses the information that is sent by the eyes. It has already been debunked. More vibrant grey is still grey. The fact that your father learned how to recognize shades of grey is just that. The glasses don't add color, even if they make the greys more "vibrant".
Enchroma even changed the wording in their marketing materials. Placebo is placebo
This video was such an amazing view of his experience. Love his expressions. Sweet man.
This is the best enchroma glasses video I have ever seen. In all the others the family crowds around, they all talk at the same time saying look at this look at that! You all stayed quiet and let him explore outside and inside on his own. There is a lot of love in your family.
Thank you, this means so much! It was hard to stay quiet, we were all so excited for him, so I'm glad we didn't overwhelm him too much! Yes, there is lots of love, I am very blessed!!
Best enchroma video! What a beautiful family. God bless you all.
I think red is his new favorite color 😂😂. That was amazing!
Cant imagine what thats like wow .. I watched a lot of these and glad to see a family let him discover everything on his own ..instead of suffocating the poor soul with what color is this questions ...what a Gift ... I wish I knew what he said when he watched his first Bama game ...or TV for that
He was holding it together so well but when he got emotional in front of his parents. That pulled on a special heart string
That's how you edit this type of vid. Great job.
Thank you so much! This was one of my first videos so that means a lot! :)
😭😭 Beautiful
What a darling man!
Ginny Lorenz haha isn't he the cutest in his all denim outfit! Gotta love him!
That was amazing! You have a wonderful family. Your dad's reactions are priceless! Thanks for sharing.
"He's not BLIND blind!" 😂🤣😂
Loved the video. I feel so happy for him. All the best from Brazil
fantastic ... the best gift a dad can get from a loving family
I think this was the best gift I've ever gotten to give someone! He is the best and definitely deserved it!
🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣 Sooooo happy for you!!! 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣
What nice, sweet person your dad is! Greetings from Denmark!
good for your pop ❤️ so sweet
What a lovely moment. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Everybody is a tough guy, until their mom comes in.
your dad is so lovable :)
I agree, he's a big softie! :)

My Dad was a wheat farmer as well, many years ago, in Tunisia North Africa...
The land that had been bought by his family in 1885 when they came from France to attempt farming the beautiful rich land...
But, our land was taken/stolen from my family and other French owners when Arabs declared Tunisian independence in 1958.
My parents hearts were broken... I was born a few months after they were kicked out of their homes with nothing...
We came to Canada a few years later but having lost everything, my family could not afford to get back into farming.
But we lived on the Canadian Prairies and Spring, Summer and Fall my parents LOVED to take me on drives out of the city to see wheat fields...😁😁😁
The Land makes GREAT, and GOOD people.
You are Blessed.
Please hug your Dad for me...
Cheers!

This is so lovely!
You have actually given him another world, bright and beautiful.
i have seen 100's of these and this is the best one. you are all one heck of a family hats off to you!!!!
I wish this was longer...his reactions are just enjoyable!
Thank you so much! I know right, his reactions are my favorite!
If it's the 1st time seeing colors,
...HOW DOES HE KNOW THE COLORS ALREADY?
Seems wild but he actually could tell you all the colors before, without the glasses on. Even though he's colorblind he still knows what the colors are and what they look like for him, he can see different shades of gray and each color is a different shade so he can identify any color. He can see and identify colors just like we can, they just look different for him and aren't as saturated. So he knew all the colors before he put on the glasses, so then when he put the glasses on he still knows what colors things are but can now just see them at more saturation and vibrancy. :)
I needed to exercise my tear ducts. Man, that was heartwarming!
haha right, makes me cry every time too!
Invented by accident by Don McPherson.
The feels! He's so cute with his reaction.
Very cool. The joy and amazement comes through to us.
What a lovely family. This man was mesmerized by the new colors he saw.
brilliant so pleased for him.....shame about the spoiler intro to the video
Ah, sorry! I know, got to get people hooked though!
I have watched several other enchroma videos, but his joy and excitement were the best yet.
OMG, great video, thank you for sharing with us. I'm sorry, by the way, I don't know if is a blackboard or a wall frame, but I loved - "I keep my eyes always on the Lord..." - amazing.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks, I will have to tell my mom someone noticed it in the back, I believe it is black chalkboard paint in a frame and then the verse is written with calk, I love it to!
This video is so sort
This is beautiful
It is lovely how so many people are fascinated with the sky and grass.
