The Wreck of Old 97

For those of you that don’t know, the story about the wreck of ol 97 is based on a true historical train wreck that happened on a Southern Railway mail Express train that ran from Washington DC to New Orleans, Louisiana, on the date of September 27, 1903, perhaps, it is best known for as the best country songs that was ever written well, let’s say for entertainment. The story about the wreck of Ol 97 takes place at Monroe Virginia, where the train was already 1 hour late, so they had to push fast to maintain the schedule as instructed by their supervisors and well that’s what caused the accident really. The locomotive that was at the head end of the train consist that day was Southern Railway 4-6-0 ten wheeler No. 1102. I don’t have a Southern Railway ten wheeler or Southern Railway Mail Express baggage cars on train simulator classic, so instead I used a Bessemer & Lake Erie six coupled 0-6-0 switcher steam locomotive.
