Use the coke anode from AA/AAA batteries, crush the coke, mix with wood glue and a few drops of vinegar to make the paste.

I saw this film from 1959 where someone made a very crude lead acid battery by just putting 2 solid lead plates in an acid solution and charged it for like a minute, it was able to power a pretty powerful light for like 10 seconds. I'm probably gonna make one like that someday cause it's more like how the original one from the 1850s worked.

Great video. I think you can paint metal mesh instead of using plain Pb plates. Also, adding some porous insulator in the mix will improve the contact surface even further.

For positive electrode you should use mix of lead dioxide and graphite powder, for negative electrode you should use mix of lead and graphite powder, to mix use deionized water or distilled water. Use sodium silicate as binder. As the electrolyte you should use 30% water based sulphuric acid solution.

Have you ever tried mixing the active materials with activated carbon ?? I have always wondered if they can be constructed in a way where it is a hybrid between a battery and a super capacitor.
Yes l did. There is no significant difference except increasing conductivity but decreasing energy density

I mixed 50 grams of lead powder, 10 grams of graphite powder and 10 grams of sodium silicate. And that's the problem, sodium silicate is clearly not enough for the active material to become liquid. In this regard, you can tell me how much you need and in what proportions to mix everything in my case, otherwise my hands are frozen from the cold. I do everything on the street, I'm from Russia. nice video. why did you short circuit it? what is the difference using lead/ lead oxide versus using the lead oxide / lead 3 oxide they use in cars?
