Mr Gooch, Warnie called you Mr Gooch because you are a legend yourself.
Absolutely. You should hear how highly rated Goochie 👏
when you get tributes like that from competitors you've dismantled, it's speaks volumes. classy words from mr gooch
Warne also said Gooch was one of the best batsmen he faced
Gooch is 69 and still looks amazing
You can see his wig
@@cobar5334 He had that in common with Shane, I remember those advanced hair studio adverts.
@zach gavelton Think he had a hair transplant.
Does not look a day over 71
One of the true greats of English cricket talking eloquently about the late Great Shane Warne. RIP Warnie, we'll miss you.
I am.the biggest England fan from all sport i have the utmost respect for Shane and his charisma Though niy so much in the ashes series but he was true legend and seemed to be really down to earth
Went to the MCG today
Nearly cried when they announced the great Southern stand is going to be the SK Warne stand. The end he got his Hattrick from.
Yes, very well said Graham Gooch
@@jacknortham8281 That is a great decision. Obviously sad circumstances but a very fitting tribute nevertheless. I am a Brit but lived in Melbourne for 9 years and I know how massive that decision will be.
Great to see G Gooch. Legend as well.
Gooch all class here. RIP Shane Warne, Very sad day
Shane warne said in recent interview gooch was the hardest to bowl at 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😔
Gooch would play the ball on its merits and not get sucked into Warne himself. Something Warnie was the best in the world at. There was a palpable change in the feel of the game every time he came on to bowl. That's part of what made him so good at taking wickets.
As a Dane I never really understood cricket untill I moved to London in 1991, and only fully appreciated it thanks to Shane Warne and that generation of cricketers. Tear or two or three to the eye. RIP you GREAT!
A brilliant spin bowler. To me the best. God took him away when he was very young. Rest in peace Shane.
Good on ya mate
From Perth WA
Graham Gooch
Great Batsman
Great Captain
Absolute Gentleman and sportsman
Fitting that he has given the most eloquent tribute to S Warne that I've heard to this date.
Update 5 days later:
Jus belatedly heard Nasser Hussein's tribute/comments which was at least on a par. Two English captains, champion cricketers and fine men. So sincere.
Johnny kelly from West London, he was awesome mate 👏! Warney is gonna be truelly misses buddy 😢 I have big respect for the ausies mate , especially the baggy greens of the 90's ,, all the best mate and sorry for the loss of the mighty " Shane Warne " good day from your pommy friend 👍

G'day John,
G'day is Aussie for a 'Good Day' greeting, we like to keep some of our communications brief.
Thanks for your response and positive comments.
I was pretty choked up in the aftermath. Such an incredible shock. He was utterly unique in so many ways. A sportsman whose greatness actually transcended sport. And he had massive respect for this man speaking. If someone like Warne picks you in a combined Ashes 11 (corresponding to his playing era) that speaks volumes. He appreciated greatness in others too.
Outstanding words from Gooch
Shane’s death proves the saying “only the good die young!” We all knew he was a tough & brilliant cricketer. But so many stories about what a great guy he was. He was the rockstar of cricket for sure!
Warne's Commentary and Match Analysis was Gold class...Shall miss it💘
Great tribute from Graham Gooch.
I shed a few tears today when i heard him and rod marsh tough day lot of wisdom gone
We've last two great of Australian English and World cricket RIP Warnie will be missed and Rod Marsh
A Good Summary of Warnie by Goochy. The man and the Player,a Amazing talent and modest. The best Legspinner of them all. RIP Shane and Rodney two great characters.🏏🇦🇺
So surreal to write Late Shane Warne.. gone way too soon. RIP Legend Warne
Even surreal now! Still find it hard that he is no longer in this world, R.I.P. Shane!
Goochie you did your share of entertaining...and a very nice tribute, thanks from aussie
Goochie was a true great in my opinion. That unbeaten 150 against a top WI attack at Headingley in 1991 was an all time classic. He outshone everyone else in that match. It sealed his reputation.
When the world's greatest living sportsman dies so young and so suddenly it's a terrible terrible shock. RIP to the brilliant, unique Shane.
I remember Gooch taking on Warne in 93 when the rest of the England team looked totally at odds, good battle.
Over 600 runs at age 40 years, not too shabby!
Wow GRAHAM GOOCH best batsman of the 90s.
Not a Micky take. He said that Graham Gooch was the best English batsman he ever bowled to.
Well he would have been. Think of all the English batsmen he played against. The best of them would have been pieterson, Vaughan, strauss , Thorpe, Trescothick, Bell, Collingwood, Stewart Hussain, Cook maybe latterly. He might have been retired when Cook came around actually. Gooch was better than all them.
From one advanced hair studio ambassador to another. Thankyou Graham for your very gracious tribute, you've outshone the commentators down here that I've heard so far with those clear headed and beautiful recollections. Its obvious to me why he would call you Mr Gooch.
I don't watch cricket. Don't understand cricket. Will never be a fan of cricket. BUT I've watched Shane Warne's bowl many times on RUclips. It's just too ridiculous how he can manipulate the ball. That zigzag ball was out of this world. RIP Mr Warne.
U should it's a good game if u love warne check out more
Very, very well said Mr. Gooch!🤣👍🏼🇦🇺🤝🇬🇧
Hated Warnie for that first ball, as I grew older I realized he was the GOAT! RIP 🏴
32 years of watching TV in the summer watching warnie bowl what a absolute Legend. Thanks for the memories Rip Warnie
32 years playing test cricket... Warnie’s longevity was legendary
I’m going to miss his commentary, analysis and stories. He’ll be greatly missed. This one really hurts. RIP legend.
You will be missed buddy, so much love from Pakistan
Thank you Mr Gooch (after having heard many stories of Warnie over the last 24hrs...I'd say it was his respect of you more than taking the mick) for those such kind yet such true words of the champion player and human that Shane Warne was, and will always be remembered as...you good sir have summed up our legend better than any I've witnessed since his sad passing...a terrible loss to the cricketing world and world in general...he will be sorely missed by family, friends and his millions of fans alike...he certainly made his impact felt on many...bless him...now he'll star in Gods XI for eternity!!!!
RIP Warnie...champion bowler...champion bloke...champion human!!!!!
@tippsy69
It's just a RUclips video ffs...calm the fuuukkcc down with deluded 'sentimental' crapp like you're his dad or best mate at his funeral.
Yes, absolutely great man he was. I remember I was a boy when he first came to play in Pakistan, and went to meet Abdul Qadir at his home who was a rule model in leg spin at that time I was watching a program in TV where Qadir said that he had witnessed a huge passion in Warnie and he predicted a great cricketer in future. Qadir also said Warnie was highly respectful to him. My condolences to his family, friends and lovers. 🙏
Summed up cricket perfectly for me at that time,a Warne peach,Gatting just nodded as if to say that was a decent ball to get me,Gooch deadpan expression at the other end and Dickie putting another stone in his pocket, doesn't get any better
Poms loved him and respected him too. Good old Goochie!
Heartfelt and to the point. But the cricket world, especially here in Australia, must not forget that it has also lost another of its stars. I have fondest memories of Rod Marsh, in particular during world series cricket and the era that followed. He was a showman, and an entertainer. He and Shane Warne both gave the very best they could give to cricket. My deepest sympathies to their families team mates and anyone who had the privilege to know them.
Yup - he was a class act too. Calling Randall back in the Centenary Test because he wasn't certain he'd taken it cleanly was wonderful - certainly made me think, as a cricketing youngster back then. Play hard, play to win, but play fair - it really ought to be that simple and it's a great shame it isn't always.
The world is a better (well, less bad) place because these guys played cricket for a few years - they certainly made my life better, anyway.
Englishman here.... Made me so angry many times whilst secretly admiring the delivery he just delivered... I remember watching the ball of the century live and thinking OMG surely he can't do that again ( oh boy was I wrong)
Australian here mate. You're spot on. There was many an Aussie who had to watch that ball 5 times over because we couldn't believe it.
Englishman here. Totally right John. What an amazing player. I will sorely miss him
@@jameswilkins4motion which John are you agreeing to?
@@tenzaemtade6146 Both
🙏 Om Shanti 🙏 Shane Warne 😔 Great tribute from Mr. Gooch, very popular name in Mumbai cricket world, those 80s days 👍
Yes Gooch was the best in those times
To be the best, you have to beat the best. Thank you Graham. R.I.P. Warnie, the Man, the Legend.
well said Goochy, from Adelaide
Warne a t a live match, loved the crowd banter and gave as good as he got. A genuine great of the sport.
Lovely seeing our Essex and England skipper, paying tribute to the legend Shane Warne. Mr. Gooch looks amazing
Condolences to Shane Warne's family and friends.🏏🕊
I came home, the Mrs just said 'Shane Warnes died!!'
I teared up. Always loved Shane. He lived here in Brighton half the year. Obviously captained Hampshire. A great Australian Cricketer. A great Cricketer. A great human.
Just a legend. Shane Warne. An absolute Assassin on the pitch. But the kindest sweetest guy off it. He tried to help cricketers from the Captain of England, Australia or India to the lowliest club cricketer he met in an airport. Always happy with those big green eyes glinting at the camera, and his huge Hollywood white smile. What a ripper. They broke the mold when they made him. There really was, only one Shane Warne.
A knock about bloke from the suburbs of Melbourne who became an Australian icon. All aussies are shattered by his death. VALE S K WARNE
Another amazing record that Shane had was that he captained Australia in 8 ODIs and never lost one match. Shame his off field antics at a certain time prevented him from potentially becoming a Test captain.🤔🥺😬
Man he looked old when I was a baby he looks old when I m old.. But such a nice gentleman.
What??
Very well said, RIP the king of spin
Great interview with Mr Gooch I reckon Shane Warne just had a fascination with his last name like my mates and I always did when they played against each other lol RIP Warnie🍺
I wouldn't say I was a supper fan of cricket, I only really follow international cricket. As a Englishman the ashes is a very important event for us with a long history. As a kid I would be forced to watch cricket by family members as well as football, rugby and unusually for brit ice hockey. it took me a long time to be drawn into these sport as a fan but there's one thing I that caught me very young is the moments of true brilliance almost superhuman ability. things that seemed like true magic, and if there's one thing that gives me hope, on this rocky spaceship hurtling through the vastness of space. Its sport, the never-ending pursuit of improvement. the combat of war. but also the humbleness but resilience of defeat, the respect towards your opponent. this is how countries should battle not, by tossing the most precious fragile thing in the verse to the sword. So thank you Shane Warne a Legend among legends, super Hero of the IRL and all the "I AM LEGENDS" shoulders to which we now stand upon.
Shane Warne man….what a completely brilliant human. Such a great player. Such a great commentator. Such a great bloke. RIP MATE
Such a great loss
Australia loves GG.
goochie my favourite cricketer ever
From one legend to another
Still cant believe Warnie is gone
I still can't believe it. Shane Warne, gone at just 52. Devastating doesn't begin to cover it.
I thought it was a joke when I first saw the headline
The Real Rockstar of the Cricketing world.... Greatness Personified... RIP Legend 💔
i love watch him playing .It was amazing and fun to watch him ball. It is really so sad.
Always Love❤️ Warnie bowl ,the greatest leg spin bowler of all time & my personal favourite one .
Leg spin Bowlers will come and go but there will no other leg spinner like Shane Warne .Once in a lifetime genius . Growing up Always enjoyed his great cricketing mind, skills and magic he created with ball ,an artist with the ball in his hand . Rest in peace .He will be missed forever .Evergreen Legend!❤️
The Leg Spin Wizard of OZ, Shane Warne. R.I.P., Leg Spin Bowling. The greatest ever spin maestro to have graced the game. Never before. Never again. My heartfelt condolences to his family and legion of fans across the cricketing globe. Om shanti.
Good words Goochie. You are looking more and more like some polar explorer....a face lined with strength and fortitude. The characteristics you have always possessed oddly enough....
3 words for the Man....Shane Warne....Legend......!! XX R.I.P.
Shane to cricket was like Mohamed Ali to boxing, different class and showman.
Gooch was my heroe followed by Alec Stewart and Michael Atherton.
Shayne was a legend above my 3 heroes rest in peace shayne God bless you
Brilliant interview.
What a wonderful tribute from one great cricketer to another.
Its a total tragedy......
The Melbourne Cricket Ground will honour the great man by naming the Great Southern Stand after him.
Legend passed away.
well spoken Mr.Gooch : )
Much respect for you Mr Gooch, I loved to watch you back in the seventies.
Thanks for sharing Mr Gooch.
What Gooch didn’t admit was that he was one of Warnie’s most famous victims! One of Warne’s greatest wickets was when he clean bowled Gooch round his legs with the most unbelievable delivery, which fizzed off the pitch turning nearly three feet off a full length. Watch it on YT…
Well said Mr Gooch...
Inspiring words from one great about another. This is what it’s all about.
I have watched many clips since Shanes death but this one is the best.
There was so much curve on the ball from left to right really a remarkable ball.
Nicely put, Graham!
Thanks Goochi, super honest conversation
Feels like a family member has passed. I'm still shook now
Pure class Goochy
RIP Shane warne Sir. He was a legend. Indians love him very much. I think he has millions of fans in India than any country. India was just like the 2nd home for him. Every Indian used to love the legend Shane warne Sir to bowl against God of the cricket.
Warne Bowling masterclass videos were awesome.
You are a legend yourself Mr Gooch
Unbelievable loss. Too soon King. 🙏
Seems fitting the man telling the story is the man Warne said was the best England player he played against.
Well spoken, Graham.
That was one of the most intimidating things about Warne, he didn't need a 3 or 4 day old track. He could turn a tennis ball sideways off a sheet of glass! Arguably the greatest cricketer ever! Rest easy mate 🌹
Great guest.
so eloquent !
Shane Warne was indeed a great Leg Spinner. He used to play with the mind and used his leg spin as his weapon to get out the batsmen. He used trick right from his first Ball of his career. He was devastating in his attack against all the batsmen he played. Batsmen were not having any clue to face his deliver it may be a flipper, googly, legspin and used to got out. Amazing to see him bowling and there wont be another Share Warne for sure. He was man with full of Confidence by which the Australian team's confidence was at Peak at 1990, Even his look on ground with cream on his face, Long hairs and chubby ckeek, . He looks very smart in all the Australian Jerseys
The worst thing that happened that week, is that Rod 'Iron Gloves' Marsh also passed away. Gooch played against both legends of Australian cricket.
Onya Goochy, well said mate!!
Warne played in a great Australian team but he was also the greatest Australian player in that team !
Sad news . Rip mate .
The best exponent of leg-spin bowling ...ever
❤❤❤❤❤❤
A lovely tribute to a great man.
52??? Terrible.
Well said
Rip Shane Warne
Its quite easy to sum up Warnie, ask anyone who has a modicum of cricket knowledge to name the best XI of all time, I guarantee that most people will start with S. K. Warne at number 8 and build the team from there. Was so shocked to hear of this, RIP.
🇬🇧🔥🇬🇧🔥🇬🇧 Search and rescue Cornwall still looking for that delivery from warne, who hands down said it was nothing to do with the swing he had there yesterday. Gatting was swinging at Hornets out there, I think there was about 50 or so. Luckily it didn’t interrupt tea. RIP warney . 🇬🇧🔥🇬🇧🔥🇬🇧🔥
The arm spear is DEFINITELY working as intended.🤣🤦♂️
" Gatt's face". LOL.
Warne had won a match against Sri Lanka ( 3wkts ) and WIndies ( 7wkts ).
Prior to the ball of the century, in cricketing circles he had already made a name for himself.
That ball cemented the legend mate
@@davewilson9738 It sure did.
I was just making the point, he was a rising star.
I also remember his performance in the 99WC semi against SA.
His sheer will, determination, mental strength won that match against a very, very strong SA team.
I’m a baby bloomer. I’m very grateful, I enjoyed a life with chook Raper, Marshy and Warney. There are many other’s. I choose to cherish them in my memory bank, at 69 I tend to do that more often these days. Sometimes I forget the password. I think I’ve lived the era, in the best world at the time. What a wonderfull world. Who sang that ???
Louis Armstrong
I would say that he's more of a Maradona than Messi ...a flawed individual, someone who upends conventional norms in professional sport but is an unquestionable genius and peerless in his craft.
