    Thanks for the terrific interview with a brilliant, beautiful, and great artist, Ralph Steadman. I would like to offer the highest compliment I am capable of: “Mr. Steadman when I am in front of your art I feel grateful and glad to be alive.”

    Ralph Steadman has become a beloved icon of his generation, along with Hunter S. Thompson. For me, the fundamental connection between these two manic geniuses is how goddamned funny they both are. Absolute hilarity coupled with off-the-wall anarchy, united by their incredible talents. One is a fantastic visual artist, the other was one of the greatest American writers ever.

    Western Civilisation is in its infancy Ralph, i understand the horror you feel all too well. I do sometimes see it that there's a rot at the core of it but I believe it's salvageable indeed. I cherish my copy of Proud to be Weird. Thanks for putting it out. The book about Sigmund Freud is awesome too. And Paranoids. Keep it real bud.

    Anyone knows why he says at 19:28 "He had no right to consider himself the creator of gonzo"?

    • @skinnyfeels6769
      @skinnyfeels6769 5 лет назад +4

      He means that Gonzo was created when Ralph and Hunter met. (They both created it)

      Worms....I remember Tom waits being interviewed when he played Renfield in Dracula. He was nibbling on bugs. He said, "One day, we're all going to be working with insects."

    that drawing shown while he was talking about Sarah... Tolkien barely touched on Balrogs. maybe a few sentences, but more if you take other contexts... "it percieved me and my spell. the counter-spell was terrible. i had never felt anything so strong..."
    Balrogs stopped Ungoliant.
    Sarahs not a Balrog. you want a Balrog, come to 1305.
