@@Argeaux2 I don’t know if I would use the word “questionable“, but I have never been a fan of Judge Judy because she’s mean just for the sake of being mean. Judge Milian gets pissed off because people behave really stupidly inside her courtroom.
The one I remember is when a couple sued over a $1500 (?) wig that got destroyed when it was washed with laundry accidentally, only for the Judge to figured out the destroyed wig was actually a $65 Revlon wig and that the expensive one was on the plaintiff's head.
One of my favorite episodes was when she went after a law student for acting like an entitled child when he wasn’t getting his way in the courtroom. What made it all the more scathing was they attended the same college.
That sounds like the one where he said to Judge Milian "that's your opinion". She literally wiped the floor with him after that. I've only seen a piece of it in a Karens vs. Judges video compilation.
I loved The clip at 8:21 where JM is dealing with the marine and his cousin. His girlfriend was visibly disappointed in him when Judge Milan read the texts out loud. That episode was priceless.
I remember case number 1. That whole thing was just horrific!!! I also never believed that the male defendant didn't know. Oh and the worst part of all: HE'S A YOUTH COUNSELOR!!!😨😨😨😱😱😱😱😱😱
I would love to know how that family is doing now, if the girl's ok, and if the creep dad was ever locked up. I always had the impression that it was the perv "youth counselor" and the bf in on it, and the female kiddnapper was threatened or something to go along, (though still guilty as sin), but the girl and her bf talking about unali.ving her parents/mom! horrible.
💛💛 I love Judge Milian. She is honest with her feelings and I love that she doesn’t hold back her anger when necessary. But she also has a softer side when families are in front of her. I think she’s the best TV Judge ever‼️
Since i don't watch this show, i don't have a personal favorite moment. But still, great top. Happy tuesday moring, Jen. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
One of my favorites and originals that I saw was a female defendant being sued for dog bites and her attempting to blame a little girl on the plaintiff's side for the dog bite. Judge Milian ripped her a new one and then looked at the little girl and said, "Listen to me. It wasn't your fault." The girl cried with her parents hugging her. It was heartwarming. I haven't been able to find that clip on the internet for a while. I wish it could resurface.
I remember case number 1. That whole thing was just horrific!!! I also never believed that the male defendant didn't know. Oh and the worst part of all: HE'S A YOUTH COUNSELOR!!!😨😨😨😱😱😱😱😱😱
OMG...I'd almost forgotten that one! The plaintiff was suing about the defendant not allowing her to return the designer sunglasses, Her Honor takes a look at all her cards in her wallet, and it turns out she's on some sort of state medical welfare and using it to partially fund her sunglass addiction. Her Honor is not having it!
From everything I've seen of Judge Millian, she respects the LGBTQIA+ community. She uses the proper pronouns for her transgender litigants, she treats same-sex couples the same as hetero couples, and she's spoken out against homophobic comments made by litigants.
Yep. She threw someone out for making a homophobic comment. If I remember it's because she said she had family that were LGBT+ but obviously didn't say who.
I grew up watching the People's Court. There are two cases which were mindblowing that still have not made it to their RUclips channel. One was a case where a woman who wore a wig for religious reasons was suing her dry cleaner for washing her expensive wig that she accidentally left in the basket. Milian takes a recess to call the wig store to find out if it can be repaired only to find out that they don't even sell the brand. Milian accuses the plaintiff of trying to defraud the court by switching the cheap wig with the expensive wig and reams her out. The 2nd was a landlord suing a former tenant who stuffed rags in the kitchen sink and left the water on, flooding the entire apartment. She asks the defendant "How are you not in jail?" and kicks him out of the courtroom. The plaintiff also reveals that the man left his cat in the apartment when he moved out to let it starve there and she didn't find it for 2 weeks. Milian says "There's not a hot enough place in hell". Hope those ones come online someday!
My favorite this Judge Millian ever said, while talking to a complete liar, was something along the lines of…I was a prosecutor under Janet Reno. I have interviewed serial killers. Do you think you are a challenge for me?…I stood up in my living room and cheered her on at that point. She is awesome!
My other favorite episode is when Judge Millian called out a woman who rented out an apartment to a couple and wasn’t even the landlord and hadn’t paid him rent ever. He showed up with the plaintiff. The said her paperwork was in Cat In The Hat Bag. She lost the case. Judge Millian called the defendant a common thief.
I remember watching the #1 case for the first time and spent half the episode in tears. I cannot imagine how the plaintiff parents felt, and the absolute smugness and ignorance from the defendants? Allowing a troubled 14 year old girl to keep seeing their 16 year old son, even after the manhunt? Those texts between the teenagers about killing the mom? *shivers* I wish they could have sued for ten times that amount of money and won.
They may have been able to, in a regular courtroom. Remember, "The People's Court," "Judge Judy," and the like are small claims. They have a hard limit in what they can award. But the cases are also resolved rather quickly. If the plaintiff parents sued in a regular court, they may have been able to win more money, and may have had a jury trial. But the case could have taken years to resolve.
I remember case number 1. That whole thing was just horrific!!! I also never believed that the male defendant didn't know. Oh and the worst part of all: HE'S A YOUTH COUNSELOR!!!😨😨😨😱😱😱😱😱😱
@@powerofk Yes, I know that. I'm pretty sure the plaintiffs even said in the episode that they were advised by a lawyer to go through small claims because a larger suit could take years and cost more than they'd actually get.
These would be so much better if we could actually hear what the people were saying, rather than the voice over telling us how bad/outrageous/whatever it was.
I remember case number 1. That whole thing was just horrific!!! I also never believed that the male defendant didn't know. Oh and the worst part of all: HE'S A YOUTH COUNSELOR!!!😨😨😨😱😱😱😱😱😱
Been watching The People's Court since the age of 10, and I have been hooked ever since. Terrible how today's political landscape has changed so much as to get court shows canned.
There was a case back on the Wapner version where a woman sued a baker because the cake she got was moldy, so she had a case and she was just asking for $9.
A few other (Dis)honorable mentions -Defendant (A U. of Miami law student) tells Judge Milian "That's your opinion" about her ruling, and her response is nothing short of "So you have chosen death?!" -Judge Milian declares defendant to be racist for calling the (African) Plaintiff the n-word. -Judge Milian calls a case rare instance of one side so right and one so right when Defendant gives sassy attitude about it. -Judge Milian tells off Plaintiff for cursing at her (when he had case working out in his favor) for not returning stolen phone. -Judge Milian tells off Plaintiff for calling CPS over petty issue. -Judge Milian goes off on Defendant trying to claim moral high ground over her dog attacking Plaintiff's daughter's dog by earlier warning daughter "don't walk your near my property, my dog will escape and attack" -In a very bizarre case, Judge Milian tells off a con-artist Plaintiff, posing as an agent that hires nude housekeepers, and demands money upfront for background checks, but only pockets it, who was suing the defendant (a potential job applicant who didn't get hired, and made social media posts about him being a fraud) for defamation of character. After the official ruling, things got worse, as the Plaintiff, while being interviewed about his reaction to the ruling, goes back to attack the defendant, resulting in security physically dragging him out.
I like the episode where the elderly lady exposed her care giver, by recording a mean and hatful conversation by the care giver, who put on a kind and loving face in the court room.........so good!🎉
One of my all time favorites is the Blue Fire Prophet case. A self-proclaimed prophetess posting messages about a woman from another church about how it was her fault her young son got off'd. Crazy case.
Just google Christopher McManus of Rochester NY. Sometimes uses intials C R, R or C. And Melinda E McManus of Rochester NY. Their son was shot during a burglary by police in April 2023 in Rochester. What a family. The results may say Greece, NY. The Claudia Vasquez case was in 2019.
There two I love of her one of the lawyer made a remark back to her "that's your opinion!" She street him have it and another lady with the addiction to sunglasses trying to claim some Receipts or something as store credit
I wish the titles of these episodes would be mentioned, since (even though I have seen many, many episodes) there are some I haven’t seen yet… and would love to watch! PS: The Nr 1 on this list I HAVE seen, more than once even, and the defendants ARE truly the most despicable, disgusting people ever to appear on this Court show! (*) And there are plenty of other terrible people who have also been on TPC over the years, so being the worst of them DEFINITELY says something!
I've watched the case from the number one spot so many times. It's so satisfying to see such entitled, clueless people being shown that their actions do, in fact, have consequences.
My 2 favorite Judge Milan cases. 1. Plaintiffs start talking spanish to each other, not knowing that Judge Milan speaks spanish. Judge Milan first lays into the plaintiffs in spanish and then explains to the camera everything that was just said. And 2. Judge Milan literally starts belly laughing during a tenant suing a landlord case. She asks the tenants if they read the lease. Tenants insist that they did. That case was wild
