I never even bothered playing vanilla SoC, i played through the entire game with this mod. Truely punishing and immersive, an amazing mod.
One of the best I might say

I'm currently going through my first playthrough ever and using this mod
Punishing is putting it gently. But I'll be damned if it hasn't grown on me; even if I am still on novice
Having played it on release is why this game is still in my top 10 ,To much change in these mods to core game play that made it fantastic experience, Just a mod with opened areas,great graphics and fixes for the bad stuff like guns jamming, weapon deterioration silly carry weight ect would be great

Amazing channel man, I love your lore videos. Sadly Stalker is still a niche game but hopefully with the release of Stalker 2 both the series and your channel will gain more attention and recognition.

I prefer the original SoC OST because the nostalgia and general ambience is better. The unforgetable Cordon ambience is always immersive and reminds me of the first time I met Sidorovich and Wolf.
SoC with Autumn Aurora 2.1 was perhaps the most immersive experience I have had on PC. Even though the very last part of the game (for true ending) crashed every time I loaded into the final area, it’s still 10/10. I’ll revisit the zone soon.

So it’s not possible to get the true ending in this mod? Cause I started my second play through with this mod and was hoping to get the true ending this time

I'm a fairly new Stalker, started this year:2020. I played through the games on vanilla then moved to CoC(with a few mods mainly: AO) and then Anomaly. And my god I love Anomaly it's like a culmination of it all. I've tried revisiting SoC but I just find them so outdated now after playing the newer mods with gunplay being a big point., this mod seems like a good reason to try it again.
I wanna start the series today and I'm eager to start playing SoC now and vanilla, but is it worth it to play with or without mods first time? Ik some are for bugs but some of the bugs add character in good ways but some are to add more realism making it more enjoyable I'm not sure how to start if you have any tips would appreciate em asap
@@NoxianSoulHarvester I can only speak for myself and I'm happy that I played the base games modless. There is a 'complete' mod for SoC which I've never tried but changes some things, one thing being able to carry 10 more kilograms, which just changes the game to much from my personal perspective. It means carrying an extra gun + ammo while I think the charm is to only carry what you need and only pick up what you need. Its not a fame where you collect all guns you see, the game tries to tell you that imo by paying you jack s**t fir them :)
@@NoxianSoulHarvester BTW on SoC I had 0 crashes on complete playthrough unmodded. I have the GOG version which came with a tiny change: some optimization of the inventory screen on higher resolutions.
@@NoxianSoulHarvester also I recommend not to watch any videos or such in advance, these games are very satisfying to figure out for yourself, get ready for the AI, they have dome tricks up their sleave :)

The hands no longer change depending on your suit, the feature was removed in the final update because it led to savegame corruption.
I'd love to see an expanded version of Autumn Aurora for CoC. The gameplay just feels almost perfect. My only complaint is that sone of the new items, like the vodka flask, make vanilla items obsolete.

Loved Autumn Aurora when I replayed SoC a few years ago. I can't see myself going back to vanilla after the experience. I suggest reviewing Spatial Anomaly.

I agree that AA2.1 is the best Stalker mod ever, but I hope in next vids you go to a bit further depth into what each mod does and how its different from other mods; Its weird to see you mentioned the ENB but not the mods ultimately main appeal: the new autumn textures, much like MISERY it pretty much retextures the whole map on its own.
Also maybe you didnt experience it, but a well known issue with this mod is frequent save corruption, this mod is what engraved into my mind the practice of only hardsaving and never deleting any saves at all lol.
I didn't mention the saving corruption because I have never encountered it tbh

@@RobertCBRN In this case, especially the npc's. Are there just some very small new sidemissions or did they add whole storylines? There are a lot of mods out there and often i can't decide what to play next. Also a rough estimation on how many new weapons/items they added would be nice. The general question when i (of course others may do different) search for a new mod is: "which one adds the most interesting content". Good graphics/atmosphere and lots of items are good too, but at least for me it's all about content like in areas/npcs/new mechanics. So a little bit more detail or a few examples about that would be much appreciated :-)

not even Anomaly/EFP/GAMMA managed to surpass AA2 in graphic environment/atmosphere (visual, grass, horizon, etcetera)

This mod is awesome,it makes the game way more up to date.Too bad it broke my saves even though i only had the 2 main missions activated(they say having multiple active missions on this mod brakes them).
i have a request could you do a difference video between call of Chernobyl and anomaly? just got into anomaly after bingeing coc for awhile
That would be prety easy, because coc is basically all 3 games in one, most of the vanilla stuf, and anomaly long story short is moded as fucc coc.

I loved playing this until a weird bug happened. All was fine until the Dark Vally bandit base, at which point the frame rate would tank when using the flashlight.
Yeah, the mod looks amazing at the firs sight and I really like the gun play, but.....

Didn't they remove the hand textures for the different outfits at one point because they said it was very buggy? Or I recall it wrong.
That's exactly what I remember too. I think it caused crashes. It was a bummer as I really liked that feature.
Hi, I love your video. I recently got SoC and I was wondering if you know how to install the mod?
Download the mod...then extract using winrar..you will get a gamedata file...copy that to your game directory...
Then open fsgame.py located inside the game folder.. then change the string $gamedata$ false to true...save it and you are ready!!

Hay off chance that you respond to this, is this a good mod for first time SoC? I've just been given SoC by a friend and I am looking for a good mod to throw at it. My experience with STALKER has only been CoP MISTERY 2.2.1 so I don't mind a challenge.

@@RobertCBRN Just found that its apparently been resolved by removing the blowouts. That's fine considering the chance of loosing all progress.
Great mod or overhaul rather. It's like a greatly improved vanilla.

I can play it on Intel i3, HD graphics 4000 and 6 of ram. It run smoothly with ENB on low/medium settings
definitely can't play at high settings but still playable at medium and below i guess

i had a pc with 1.75gb of Ram and 256mb VRam and a cpu of 2.5gh while i played at minimum, it holded pretty well, with a few crashes when i reloaded too many times, quite less demanding than misery mod

Yes it is.. My personal experience is that it is true.. It is starting as innocent time to time crashes but after then problems rises and in the end you can't load any saves that you have.... Don't play this mode please.. It is graphical very good work but not working entire game....

@@2dollarchickenwings689 64x engine, more of everything, enhanced alife, graphics update, a very detailed customization of gameplay and progression, anomaly-only features. it's a pretty great mod.

i have a i3 7th gen and a gtx1050 2gb, 8gb ram, and i tried to play AA 2.1 and everything was going fine until i get to Yantar, i cant save or load my game from there kinda buggy i have to say

I ran into an issue my first time playing through in 2018 where the game wouldn't load. Someone on the ModDB forums said it has to do with having too many jobs in your PDA. I don't know if this bug still exists or not but when I tried it again in 2020, I made sure to turn jobs in often and didn't have the issue again.
I did still run into an unplayable bug when getting to the Monolith section, outdoors. All of the meshes were bugged, I couldn't see where I was going but collision and gunplay still worked so I could sort of feel my way around the level. I cheated through this area, used some commands for god mode. Once I got inside, everything looked fine again so I disabled the cheats and continued as normal.
Dude I installed the mod but game doesn't open do you know why?
Try deleting the gamedata in it's entirety before installing the mod. Make sure the fsgame.ltx file is properly edited and also start a new game
This mod was never short of crashes. Loved the quality, but sick of it crashing when going from level to level, sleeping and autosaves. 🤬🤬🤬

Did you miss the part with less bugs, repair system, balanced difficulty, new animations, the new music, sound effects and that the weapons are realistically divided by npc categories to seem more realistic?

Read the FAQ page, I believe there is a guid for that. I managed to get the original English voices through deleting some sound files.
Edit: this is what the official faq says.
Q: How to bring back the character voices from my language version?
A: Delete (or rename) the contents of Gamedata\Sounds\Characters_voice folder EXCEPT:
Gamedata\Sounds\Characters_voices\scenario\bar
adio_music
Gamedata\Sounds\Characters_voice\scenario\megafon
Gamedata\Sounds\Characters_voice\scenario\video\aa2_splash(two files with _l and _r)
Alternatively unpack this folder from your gamedata and copy it over.

@@Daniel-jz6yf I tried deleting all the folders in \characters_voice except the ones listed, but the game crashes after starting a new game and getting through the loading screen. If I restore the original \characters_voice folders, then the game is fine. Any ideas?

Nvidia has just discontinued support for Pascal graphics cards, i.e. the 700 series cards (except for 750 which is Maxwell). So you have to keep using the old drivers

I did want to like AA but I don't speak Russian an there are next to no English subtitles. So when I run into that Duty member in the Dark Valley he just says a bunch of Russian words an then the game tells me to follow him to an ambush point. An how the fuck is that meant to be immersive? If my character is a native Russian speaker then would it really matter what language they're speaking so long as I understand it?

The colors are beyond terrible
This sucks , love the visuals but why change things! hud health bar ect crap , annoying eat and health bar system, leave the icons as they are for god sake, hope a good mod is made one day were they leave the core alone but open up the new areas ect but actually fix stuff like the stupid jamming guns , carry weight ect , invisible anomaly ugh give me a break, was not impressed. oh and were is the english audio for crying out loud.

@@RobertCBRN Autumn Aurora mainly whenever I finish installing everything I cant even load the game or get to the main menu. In fact where do you lunch the mod from it says it installs an icon on the computer to start the game from but I cant find it anywhere, also is there some external patch you need to have the mod work, because I have the latest version of the game on steam.
@@jarrettodom3943 if you installed autumn aurora 2.1, it will launch from Shadow of Chernobyl. Only CoC will have it's own .exe
