The thoughts of having a purpose in life never really worked for me. I don't really have a purpose. What I do have is a feeling of how I want to live my life. I need an income to pay the bills. I want to be good to others, live comfortably and stay healthy. I want to have some fun and reduce the drama in my life.

Same, going through a rough day and this video appeared. First I scrolled down and something in me felt like it was there for a reason, I watched it and now I feel so much lighter.
Some key points from this video: 0:53 - Many people spend their lives in permanent dissatisfaction. 1:30 - People often tie purpose to their future (e.g., “where do I want to be in the FUTURE?”). This is important but it only refers to the “outer purpose”. 1:45 - “Inner purpose” is more important than “outer purpose”. 2:16 - Inner purpose = aligning yourself fully with the PRESENT moment. 5:07 - You can pay your bills without worrying about it. 5:55 - What you are doing RIGHT NOW is primary - your destination is secondary.
It is totally the Buddhist philosophy! I have helped loved ones on worry to release their anxiety; reminding them of the present moment they are in !!!! Thank God it helped them to realize! 🙏
I think the older you get and you loose parents and family, you realise that one of the most important things is time and not wasting it on people and things that take away your joy. It's a life time of learning and then you get older and just truly want to be happy
Don't waste your time on negative, manipulative, and selfish people, even if they're family members. Make time for those who truly care about your well being and be abundantly present in your existence.

hike oganessian I think it’s difficult to explain spiritual things. But enlightenment happens gradually and then you get the feeling aha..a light is turned on in the scalp, and everything changes. All the crap that you see hear and through at you has nothing to do with you, it does not give you emotional pain at all, nothing you can do about it, stops the inner fighting. You are at peace, free and have a constant inner joy for no reason at all. But as I said it’s hard to explain, it has to be lived and you will. Hope it helped a bit. Love to you😊👍🐶

And this made me think - maybe I am sad, cos I have to be, cos everybody say/react so. But you know, Im not! Im very happy with myself of what I am, what I do or don't do and what I become. Eckhart is talking about enlightenment or awareness. Once you are aware of yourself as a warm glowing energy field full of love you have discovered what you really are. Everything in the universe is energy and so are you. The only question is will you take time out from your day to discover this. This is the true alchemy, nothing in the world of form comes close or will satisfy you. Once you discover the beauty inside you, you will view the world completely differntly and joy will drip from your every pore. Ironically it took utter misery for me to discover this, but this is also the true nature of the universe and your individual exposure to opposite polarities.

Some may transulate doing their best to row against the stream and feel that letting the stream take them meaning a non resistant life would be the opposite of doing your best. That is the problem with words, people will not translate them all the same.
The tricky thing I didn’t get for the longest time: how do you know this one step if you’re not thinking into the future to some degree? If you’re always in the now, you’re just blissing out, so when did you plan? Well, the answer is that you can be fully present while planning, too! *Ding!* that was huge!! Also: this morning I just got something. Oprah mentioned learning when she was little that if she did her best, people liked that. Well, I noticed a similar thing as a kid. If I did my *very* best, I could get the highest grade in the class. I began to value being the best, and decided that a mediocre result was undesirable or unacceptable. I came to the conclusion - the belief- that it was important that I do my very best, which translated as I grew up to pushing myself as hard as I could. I was wrong! That message when I was little could have been: Look how extraordinary things happen when you are fully present!! WOWWWWW. I was given that lesson, too, when I was in the first grade!! But I only just now learned it. Oprah is such a powerful translator. Wow wow wow

life is only about living in the present moment and detachment from end result, because when we attach from the end result the thing that we want is going far away from us so life purpose should be living in the present moment, we can't alter past but by living in present moment we definitely alter our future
Oprah has shown great wisdom in choosing Tolle for her show, we should thank her for making faster the spread of Tolle's thoughts. Tolle's thinking is so simple, i personally find that he explains to me in a simple way the concepts I learned from the Jesuits at school. In fact the Jesuits taught me to interpret certain words of Christ in ZEN key. So whatever your religion, Tolle's book does not put you in conflict with your religious education but rather it values it. Every day surrender your efforts to Christ and he will treasure them for you.
That was a wonderful thing that teacher did for Oprah. I had grown up learning time and again that my best is never good enough. But with Eckhart, not good enough is good enough ;) Yay!

The problem with Oprah is that she is very "American" , when she says the "best" way, "best" is not a word in Eckhart vocabulary, be present can't be right or wrong, better or worst, being present in the present moment is always perfect, can t do it bad, just good. You know what I mean?

the purpose of life is to express the one talent given to each of us...singer sing..teachers teach...we are the individualized expression of the One Energy of life...God...
So your inner purpose is to ask what your inner purpose is. Ha. The focus on the present is laudable and useful, but it can ignore the deeper story, the images and themes and promptings that inform a life. Which is why I've focused so much on exploring one's personal myth: the biography behind the biography. Not one moment after another, but the trajectory.
This is interesting. I’ve found myself trying to find ways to manipulate the now in order to create a different path for the future. Particularly in relationships. I never seem to be satisfied with the people in my life in the present moment.
I'm sorry to say but there are no goals (even though I still live a normal life like every one else with goals) don't change the way you live but learn through some kind of spirituality that it's not the goal it's the action you take now. Enjoy every moment of the action that's done in the present.
I get all this, I think. Not sure I 100% agree, so I must be missing something. But where does the guidance for our lives come from? Our inner spirit or divine spirit or both or none? I get taking the next step “is” life, but where that step is pointed is a decision that effects the future step. There’s the momentum piece. The divine creator appears to have ever expanding momentum and order to that momentum that implies a decision or direction. The creation of beauty and potential to creat more beauty seems to be part of the theme. We, mankind also being creators allows us to choose to create beauty or destruction. So who can explain this part I’m missing? The direction decision part. With out a decision or direction we are like a ship with no destination. What am I missing here? Thanks dear brilliant people!
I think noticed at 6 yr by twirling a little string with a tiny weight on it. I don't need it now just prepare, I can jump mostly forward but back to present and give suggestions because I saw it.🤠
By giving yourself to every person calling in. Every person presents his or her importance, and soul. Soon enough, shift over. You'll rest well, and, God willing, have the opportunity to do it again the next day. Giving your all will take you to your next assignment.

My purpose of my life is to worshipping my creator Allah and that's inner purpose and everything else is outer purpose for this life only and this life is a temporary gift it takes courage upon to live this life . Opposite of happiness is sadness struggle but in the middle of both is peace in our struggle we learn to have patience and in joy we are appreciative . That's why as Muslims we pray five times as we stand in front of Allah the world and it's glory and quiet anxiety all behind us thus we live in peace..

To me, it appears that when it's her show there's a certain message she wants echoed to get it across to people and SHE wants to understand too because she's a student of life...that's one reason why she's extremely successful
That struck me, 'the end and the means are one.' I get that now, the ends don't justify the means if the energy is funky, wow.

Absolutely being in presence is impossible. But being in presence maximum is possible. Destiny is decided. After decision you need to be in present.
So your inner purpose is to ask what your inner purpose is. Ha. The focus on the present is laudable and useful, but it can ignore the deeper story, the images and themes and promptings that inform a life. Which is why I've focused so much on exploring one's personal myth: the biography behind the biography. Not one moment after another, but the trajectory.

This is interesting. I’ve found myself trying to find ways to manipulate the now in order to create a different path for the future. Particularly in relationships. I never seem to be satisfied with the people in my life in the present moment.
I'm sorry to say but there are no goals (even though I still live a normal life like every one else with goals) don't change the way you live but learn through some kind of spirituality that it's not the goal it's the action you take now. Enjoy every moment of the action that's done in the present.
I love this video I have always learn not to border my life but think how to solve such issue and move forward.

I get all this, I think. Not sure I 100% agree, so I must be missing something.
But where does the guidance for our lives come from?
Our inner spirit or divine spirit or both or none?
I get taking the next step “is” life, but where that step is pointed is a decision that effects the future step.
There’s the momentum piece.
The divine creator appears to have ever expanding momentum and order to that momentum that implies a decision or direction.
The creation of beauty and potential to creat more beauty seems to be part of the theme.
We, mankind also being creators allows us to choose to create beauty or destruction.
So who can explain this part I’m missing?
The direction decision part.
With out a decision or direction we are like a ship with no destination.

How do I live in the present moment working in a call center answering meaninglessness calls?
By giving yourself to every person calling in. Every person presents his or her importance, and soul. Soon enough, shift over. You'll rest well, and, God willing, have the opportunity to do it again the next day. Giving your all will take you to your next assignment.
Just stay present all the time.

My purpose of my life is to worshipping my creator Allah and that's inner purpose and everything else is outer purpose for this life only and this life is a temporary gift it takes courage upon to live this life . Opposite of happiness is sadness struggle but in the middle of both is peace in our struggle we learn to have patience and in joy we are appreciative . That's why as Muslims we pray five times as we stand in front of Allah the world and it's glory and quiet anxiety all behind us thus we live in peace..
