You're welcome dude 😉 Glad you're loving the Aephanemer rabbit hole. The awesome thing is on each album they have instrumental versions of each song too ❤
I surprised myself by liking this. The music was enthralling and her voice, growls and all was so good. I'm not sure I would listen to it on a regular basis, but I did enjoy this. Thanks, Cosmic for introducing me to this band.
I'm so late to say that I totally agree with what you said about this band, all of whose albums I have in my collection. P.S. Marion Bascoul only took a few singing lessons for the clean vocals & I'd say she has natural talent for such vocals also.
It's an interesting juxtaposition with the melodic and her brutal growls. I can't say if I'd put it on a Playlist but i didn't skip through it either. Intriguing.. txs Cosmic ❤ & ✌️
Thanks a lot for this reaction, don't hesitate to react to "Le radeau de la Méduse", in English or in French, as you like, but for undestanding reasons, maybe prefer the English version ^^'
Aephanemer was founded in 2014 by French guitarist Martin Hamiche, who is still the main composer today. He combines two French words and the result could be translated as "one-hit-winder". But the name has no real meaning, it just sounded good. The band's name is pronounced something like "a fannie mae" in English. Since the word does not exist in French, French people also have problems pronouncing the word. So every wrong is right ;-) Other musicians quickly joined. Marion Bascoul was already making music as a teenager, but only as a hobby. She learned to play the guitar at 27 and growls at 30. Only then will she become a professional musician. When she's not making music, she works as a freelance computer scientist. She writes the lyrics. They have recently lost their second bass player. The style used to be clearly based on Scandinavian melodic death metal, but has lately been enriched with classical elements. They call it symphonic death metal themselves.
