    This is great advice!!
    I went from working 60-70 hours a week of hard physical labor, then weekends of housework - to disability within 3 years. One of the first symptoms was fatigue, where I found walking difficult. People noticed me lumbering. Once sinemet was started, I felt much better. A couple years later seligeline was added, which helped.
    I’m still fatigued, but my 50% energy level is still better than some peoples 100%, lol. I can still mow the yard, do car and house repairs, but now pace myself.

      Whoa, that’s such a drastic change of pace since diagnosis. I’m so glad that you’re still able to “git er done” by pacing yourself and with medication management for the PD. 💪🏻

    "Pure vegetables, such as tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and cauliflower, etc., which contain natural nicotine are effective against Parkinson's if eaten frequently." Quote by Ptaah, talking to 'Billy' Eduard Albert Meier (BEAM), contact report 578, January 9th, 2014.

    I’ve had Parkinson’s for almost 3 years now. My neurologist wanted to put me on meds, but I respectfully refused. I am doing great and am pretty much living a normal life, much to the dismay of my family and friends…and doctors! I attribute it ALL to my relationship with God. We all know God “designed” us to function best when we eat right, exercise and get adequate amounts of sleep. I do feel fatigued periodically, but taking a one or two-hour nap makes a huge difference. And if I still feel like I was hit by a bus, I say some prayers, then I’m back on my feet and start getting my chores done. I live in a wooded area and am still doing tons of yard work that blows my wife’s mind. The neurologist painted a doom and gloom picture for me, but God has different plans for me. He’s always taking great care of me! 😊

      That’s amazing. I’m happy that you have been given this gift. Don’t stop what you are doing as it may be once harder over time and your lifestyle is sure to help!

    Great advice! I was dealing with incredible fatigue last year. I stopped drinking alcohol 31 Dec and I've been feeling better. I'm thinking it likely wasn't mixing well with meds.

      Wow! Yes, actually alcohol and PD meds do NOT mix well. That’s actually a video I need to make!

      @SDWP hey, I’m open to suggestions. You reminded me too, because one of my clients with PD mentioned knowing another PwP who drinks heavily and that they suffer terribly with breakthrough symptoms and falls, etc.

    Am I glad I saw this on a google search. I have been extremely fatigued for months and thought it was something else. Getting Parkinson’s care from. VA which just means seeing a neurologist every 6 months. How to I find Parkinson’s specialists?

    • @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation
      @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Stephen! Glad you found this too, does your VA have a movement disorder division? If not there are ways to find local specialists outside of the VA system. You can search for movement disorder specialists through the database online and for therapies I’d search for LSVT BIG and LOUD certified therapists in your area. If you’d like to jump on a call with me I’d be happy to explore options with you in your local area. clarity.fm/pdeducation

    Fatigue can occur pre-PD diagnosis. I thought I had long Covid. Then I developed tremor & some other symptoms, got diagnosed, & began taking ropinirole. Feeling somewhat better overall, but the fatigue won’t go away.

    I'm have this from past 7 months🤕, how do I differentiate between parkinson's and CFS? Please help

    • @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation
      @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation  7 месяцев назад

      I would say the absence of other Parkinson’s symptoms would be a possible clue. Fatigue is not often the first sign of Parkinson’s, though it could be among other signs and symptoms that may show up.

      You mean you have all the symptoms of fatigue? Or Parkinson’s? Just be aware, fatigue can be caused by or associated with other issues such as chronic fatigue syndrome (the obvious), fibromyalgia, and chronic pain. But it never hurts to consider all of the possibilities. I’m glad you enjoyed the video thanks for your comment!

      @@parkinsonsdiseaseeducationit’s more fatigue. I’m in therapy now and I believe it will help. Just started but I’m bound and determined to be able to walk without thinking of walking if that makes sense.

    • @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation
      @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation  Год назад +1

      Good for you! That’s great that you’re already in therapy. Just try to keep in mind that exercise will definitely have a positive impact, though feelings of fatigue may still be present to some degree. It’s kind of a matter of inertia too, because getting started and becoming more consistent with a routine is half the battle. I wish you the best, please let us know how therapy is going. Hopefully you will notice they walking doesn’t feel so effortful as you progress. 😊
