Love this.. just canceled my carry on luggage, going to get a good backpack😊 Going next week for a month, I love your video, as I am really struggling to pack such a small case for an entire month. We are much older than you both 😂, but ready to backpack around Costa Rica. Thanks again, you've no idea how much you've helped! We are also from Canada, hope you had a blast 😊😎 ❤
Oh so exciting. I'm glad we could help through the video. I hope you have a great time! We went during the dry season so it never rained but if it was the rainy season I would definitely bring a rain jacket and rain pants.
I really enjoyed your video. People say they are going be minimalist and then they bring so much extra stuff for “just in case”. I was very impressed by the amount of stuff you didn’t take. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
I will definetly rewatch this video before leaving for my next tropical vacation, these were great advises :) but i do think you bring way too much floss haha
Haha! We brought 2 floss with us from Canada and already used it in 1 month! So we stocked up at the store when we found some :p But I can see how it can be excessive we do floss a lot! so glad you enjoyed the video😁
Hahah! We always talk about how he looks so Swedish. He is from Canada and his parents have lineage from Scotland and England. So glad you resonated with the video 🙏
Nice dresses .. cant see anything as good in UK. I could go with 30l and a daypack but not in winter/summer as asthmatic and need warmer clothes and a lot of meds for longterm travel. I also have to bring any items dont want to throw out or give away as nowhere to leave anything !
Yes definetly if I was going somewhere that was colder I would need a larger backpack or I would have even less items. Stripping down to necessities or under layers for warmth. In the end everyone's required needs are different but I keep in mind when packing for travel 1 of large each item like top, pants, shoes, hat etc and more of course of underwear. I usually pack assuming I'm keeping everything.
Great vid! Greetings from Germany. I didn’t catch the name of the company for the earplugs? I love that you have really less stuf, when I meet people with 40 l plus backpacks and call it minimal I have to laugh, I use a 25 l Packsackes, that’s enough.
Yes I know what you mean haha. 25L backpack thats awesome! The earplugs are called DB blockers, but I'm pretty sure it's a local company. You should look in your area for custom ear plugs. It's definitely worth it 😁
Great video with advice I am definitely taking! Heading to Costa Rica in a few weeks and have been looking for a wrap skirt like yours as I just love it. Do you know where I can purchase one please? Thank you, and happy travels!
So glad to hear that and I'm excited for you to experience Costa Rica 🙌 My wrap skirt was a gift to me but I did see similar ones from the brand called "Lotus and Luna". Here is the link: www.lotusandluna.com/en-ca/collections/shop-all-clothing?filter.p.product_type=Sarong Also some swimsuit stores have beach wrap skirts too. Hopefully you find something. Blessings❤️
First of all, grammy worthy song. Second, this has inspired us to pack minimally for the next trip. Third, does Carl get a chance to use the silky pillow case?
Haha 😂 thank you. The melody of this song is definitely unique. Excited to hear the video was helpful! Sometimes when I'm not looking, Carl sleeps on the silk pillowcase...so it's worth brining for your significant other 😂
Yes, we only brought one because we were staying at airbnb's and we were filling it up a lot but some days we definitely needed another one. So we will be bringing two on our next trip 😁☀️
Touching on the footwear, in the past ypu mentioned going barefoot (earthing) as a good health practice. Do you still incorporate going barefoot while on your travels? Even though your sandals are quite minimal, they are not quite the real deal (in nu opinion :) )
Hey Anton! Thanks for leaving a comment. Yes, I still believe that walking barefoot is great for your health and I still walk barefoot often. I walk barefoot mainly when im in nature or at home. When i'm out on busy roads and city streets I like to wear these sandals because I don't want to step on glass or garbage. I had a pair of xero sandals in the past and they were so thin that a safety pin went right through the sandal and into my foot. That is why I am enjoying this thicker minimalist sandal when I do wear shoes.
@@ElysiaRaimondo Good to hear, it truly is great for both physical and mental health! That's unfortunate to hear about the xero shoes, I can fully understand you wanting a thicker sole when travelling in areas with such things on the ground.
Hi Leeloo, Yes we did! It was definitely very dry in Nosara. Lots of dust everywhere. In the south near Uvita it felt less dry but we barley had any rain.
wish I could sleep naked, I go Jersey shore for a month every year with my grandpa and spend time with my uncle from Arizona, so my family like come in my room to wake me up so I have to wear pajamas or I would be naked if they didn't this might help for my next trip for a month since I left some there
Many people that I have met in Costa Rica are traveling with a 40-70L backpack. If it can fit on carry on then I would consider it minimalist traveling. 😁

Happy to see a video with dresses
Glad to hear! I find dresses to be so comfortable.
Going backpacking for one month in may! Glad you guys made this video :)!
Yahoo 😁 have a great trip! So glad it was beneficial for you.

@@ElysiaRaimondo i was just kidding it can’t be a bad thing to bring extra floss 😁
@@m-ljoly8222 haha I know you were kidding, I just know we do use lots of floss 😂
Love the simplicity and the minimalism. ❤
Carl, I have no idea what your ethnicity is, but as a Swede you look super-Swedish to me. 🙂

Hi Elysia, I guess you visited Costa Rica in dry seaon? right?
Hi Leeloo,
Yes we did! It was definitely very dry in Nosara. Lots of dust everywhere. In the south near Uvita it felt less dry but we barley had any rain.
Check out Travels with Sarah, she travels all over for months at a time. She advises you weigh everything. Enjoyed your video, very entertaining.
Thanks for sharing il check her out😁 I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video!
What brand of toiletry bag is that?
The brand is L.L.Bean but we got it 10 years ago and it's still is great condition.

Yes, it's definitely nice when you can sleep naked especially when there is no A/C and it's above 30+ degrees haha. If not light pajama work too 😁
@@ElysiaRaimondo right definitely
What does non-minimalist backpacking look like? lol What do people bring?!!?
