All that peace and quiet with cool temperatures, the sort of place you should stay after a week or two at a beach resort, to acclimatise to weather back at home (Uk), yet another great video, nice one Kev 👍🏻
Except it definitely wasn’t cool during the day haha. When the sun came out it literally felt like I was in a dim sum steamer basket 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Congratulations on getting past 10,000 subscribers. You're doing everything right. Looking forward to your reviews of VietJet and Riu (a brand that I am well familiar with).
I’m very curious to see how the Riu (and also Iberostar and Barceló) videos I have coming out do. It’s a whole market that I’m still learning about but with so many options to explore!
No doubt there are a lot of stunning luxury resorts in Bali. I'd honestly love to stay a year and try them all (wouldn't we all 😀). Tough decisions have to be made for a two week vacation. Given the choice of a small rain forest resort with some access to Ubud versus one with difficult access I think I'd choose the former. Would I regret not staying here? Sure I would, especially after watching this video.
Recent fan here & love your vids - best part is the pace of the tours & the length of the videos are perfect. I usually watch your vids on my smart tv to enjoy the big screen viewing - do you know many viewers do the same & Android smart tv cannot view your video details or comments? I had to use my smartphone to add this comments. One suggestion would be to put the rate you paid on the pop-up card at the start where you also put the score. Also you do not mention how you book your stays - direct with hotel, through a OTA ... Fantastic work!
Thanks very much for the kind words. For (some) viewers on Smart TV I am aware that the description and comments aren’t available- which still confuses me, seems it would be an easy fix for RUclips. I can just tell you the reason why I’ve removed it from the video itself. My goal is to review hotels of various star levels in different areas of the world. Displaying the price in the video led to many viewers to saying “adios” at the sight of the price because they thought the property wasn’t for them, which could be on 2 fronts “it’s too expensive for me” or worse for me “it’s not nice enough because it’s too cheap”- it’s that later point I’m really trying to avoid since prices vary so much by region. Removing the price is the only way to give the video a fair shot. As for the booking platform, that is always in the video, on the pop up card that you spoke about. On the top right it says “Booking Agent” and then lists the platform that I booked with. Thanks very much for the comment and thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great video as always, Kevin. I suggest you to try resorts in Sumba Island such as Nihi or Lelewatu in your next trip to Indonesia. There are many great reviews but would like to know your opinion on them.
I used to proudly carry around my pillow. Even throughout the first year of filming for this channel I lugged it everywhere. But then this year with Airmageddon and all- I started going carry-on only and my pillow was the first thing crossed off the list 😂. Thanks as always Vanessa 🙏🏻
Ended up choosing this resort for my stay in February! Despite many of the things you pointed out, particularly the road on the way up to the resort, we chose this resort due to going in rainy season and wanting to enjoy a pool that is heated! Thank you for all of your reviews 😊 Still concerned we may have made the wrong decision, as it was between this and the Como, but still excited none the less 😅
@@tfft definitely do! Hence the difficult decision 😝 love your page and your reviews!! So glad to have honest reviews as a reference for future bookings
Hi Kevin, on your next visit to Bali, I would highly recommend you review Puri Wulandari, a resort with great charm and Balinese character; and an utterly spectacular location in Ubud (which is pronounced oobood, by the way). A resort with 32 pool-villas, priced reasonably. Check it out!
Hi Kevin, great videos. Currently watched 3 out of 9 of your bali videos. As each video is fairly long, would have been great if you had a video summarizing all of them with pros and cons of each. It is gonna take me a while to go through them. In case you see this, what are your top choices for families with young kids? Thanks
If I made short summary videos then you'd have no reason to watch the full videos :) One place that is kid friendly but not a madhouse would have to be the Intercontinental Jimbaran. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
May l ask a question? Did you have any issues with mosquitoes? Whenever lve stayed at properties in Bali with that much water around you have to douse yourself in the strongest DEET on the market! Love to know if it's problematic at these places with private pools and water features.
No I didn’t have any issues at any of the properties I stayed at- and even before this trip on previous trips (usually staying in Jimbaran) I’d never even thought about Bali as a big mosquito place until I started getting questions with this series. Maybe I’m just used to the climate and environment? Could be, but honestly don’t remember seeing a single one.
Not currently active in it, hope to get back into it in the next month or two. For now, I post photos on the “Community” tab of my RUclips page daily. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I have not. It looks to be a beautiful resort but I’m not a fan of properties that require minimum stays. They require 3-5 nights minimum and at up to $2k per night, you probably won’t be catching me there anytime soon lol. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Love your humour, especially about the charcoal grilled flavour missing from your satay! You should have the satay in Malaysia. It’s different from those in Bali but so very good! You will not be missing any charcoal grilled flavour for sure! Take care and safe travels, Kevin!
Food looks nice. Good presentation although not truly authentic Indonesian cuisine. I guess same situation for all luxury hotels/resorts catering to mostly western guests.
Nah- there’s plenty of authentic food in Indonesia that is suitable for most western palates, I think. Just a big overreach on their part if I’m honest. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Hey Kevin, i've been watching your videos for a few months now, and i hope you don't mind me asking... How do you afford to stay at all these luxury properties? A day job perhaps? P.S- You don't have to answer..... i'm just wondering what it takes to live this dream life 😅

I will check them out! Exploring lesser known Indonesian islands is definitely one of my priorities in the next year or two. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I'm that person that travels with her own pillow 🤗 thanks for always mentioning the accessibility ♿️ of a property it helps me personally 👍

Great review as always. Did you stay anywhere else in Ubud?
Yes! Have a few other from Ubud and many others from Bali on the channel.
@@tfft great thank you
@@tfft as a family, we sat down and watched your phuket hotels review. This then allowed us to choose our hotel last year 😁

How tall is the wall separating you and your neighbor? It doesn't look that tall. Someone could easily watch you while you are swimming
Tall enough- I'd say at least 8 feet.
Thanks for sharing

An iPhone 12PM & 13PM. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Your videos look great and professional! Do you edit all your videos or you hire someone? You are doing exactly what I want to do with my life!
Oh no I'm way too much of a control freak to let someone else even touch any part of the process lol.
