Worker & parts shortages cause GFL to stop garbage service in parts of Livingston County

Today is the last day GFL Environmental Service will pick up garbage in parts of Livingston County, while residents have no choice but to switch services. Some residents say if they had a choice they'd stick with the service.

I work in the garbage industry and it’s insane how much of our fleet isn’t running because of lack of replacement parts. The labor is also crazy, everyone wants to go work where there’s more money.

That's why I ended up switching to a competitor. I worked for GFL in my area and they had a reallllly hard time keeping the trucks up and running. So much so that they would down trucks for weeks and force us to get 2 routes a day on the rear loaders that were barely working. If anyone is thinking about working there do your research and actually talk to one of the people who work there.

i made 13.50 there within my first 3 weeks working there i get ran over by their truck on their job now i’m fired 😂

I didn’t mind working out west but they split the canton yard up which was a mistake. So the Plymouth yard seems screwed

I work at the arbor yard. And they be on bs. Im just tired of working for GFL. good money. But not enough time home
