Thiems career is sad. He was such a strong player. Known as the prince of clay. He was supposed to win atleast one French Open Title. Atleast he won the US Open 2020. He deserved a grand slam.

Dominic had an amazing 16 wins and 19 losses vs. the Big 3. He won 46% of the time vs. those three great players.
He was 5-2 vs. Roger. He was 2-2 on hard courts vs. Roger, 2-0 on clay and surprisingly... 1-0 on grass vs. Roger.
He was 5-7 vs. Novak. He was 2-4 on hard court vs. Novak... and 3-3 on clay.
He was 6-10 vs. Rafa. He was 2-2 on hard courts vs. Rafa... and 4-8 on clay.
I'd have to guess that Dominic's W-L record against Novak, Rafa & Roger (16-19) is probably better than any other player with at least 10 matches vs. them.
And Thiem's career 10-9 record vs. Roger & Novak combined... has to be better than probably anyone not named Rafa. He won 53% of his matches vs. Roger & Novak!

Real tennis lovers will never forgot Dominic, one of the best players ever for any given fans just watch a tennis match, incredible shots, intriguing gameplay, super fair and nice 💚 Thiem was such a good clay courter, yet all of his big moments came from hard, like Indian Wells 2019 facing Federer, AO 2020 leading 2-1 but lost in the end, USO 2020 came back from 0-2, ATP Finals 19-20 run 🏆 He lost to Medvedev in 2020 which was ok to me because Meddy is a great player, but I will never forgive Tsitsipas for that 2019 ATP Finals [who never did any significant things on hard court afterward except from that one lucky AO 2023 final, which he lost comfortably 0-3] 😢

From prime in 2020 to nowhere after the injury. I still wonder, if it was only the wrist or also mental stuff on top. The career despite US open feels a bit unsatisfied. Really believe he would have deserved French open title, too. He played great tournaments there. In the end it is one masters, one Slam, several big finals. And an abrupt ending of his prime. 😢 Still a great player and good person on top.
