Hi the export file is a 3mf file can you send it straight to the k1 if you set up the IP address threw the connection wifi ? bars beside the printer selected ?
Hi, I am pondering getting a machine K1 max perhaps - entry level , I know little, just starting to read and learn. However , I am an older computer user 30 yrs + for work etc. I do not like the idea, I have to send my file of my job or work or hobby, to an offshore server / cloud who have control and potential oversight of my files - your files. I would have nothing to hide, however why does someone else have to see my file for parsing or coding ? Probably sounds paranoid, but can I have what seems like a file exchange transaction done completely on my desktop eg - 3D modeling program - STL- Slicer software - 3dD printer = NO CLOUD USE ? I will appreciate your answers, thanks in advance.
K1 Max is an amazing machine. You can lan print, but the Cloud service is really great. You do all the slicing and such on your own machine, and only send the GCODE. You'll then be able to wirelessly monitor and view the print. Download a time-lapse, have a re-printable history of your prints, wireless firmware updating, and more. I use it daily, across many machines. It's fine. Enjoy it. :)
@@3DRundown Hi thank for that, but can you tell me if you can process this G code file ? on your desktop somehow ? as my primary point is about not wanting to use a cloud server out of my country jurisdiction. Why do you need to send a small file to a remote server ? surely the information in the slicer software can do whatever is required to ready the slicer output information, to your chosen printer ? I am coming from a position of not knowing what a G-Code file is or how big it is, or why it should not be done on your desktop, and especially, see a proprietor control in this as unnecessary, and then if it is unnecessary, why would you require it to be done this way ? If in the scheme of things, you have a computer that can interpret your modeling software, and your modeling software can code an STL file , and your slicer can do all the processing required to instruct the printer how much filament to use here or there and at what speed and temp or where to leave voids and so on, all that collectively , seems like a heck of a lot of sophisticated information and then the Slicer has to send out a file to get permission to instruct the printer ? is this how that chain of events is in general terms ? I am not being adversarial, but I want to know why it has to be like that and why this cannot be simply done by the slicer software - on your desktop ? thanks in advance
When you slice a file in your Slicer, it creats a "gcode file" that file, is the code your printer uses, to create the print. YOu can send it over lan, cloud, or via a memory card. Above, I explained the benefits of using the cloud tools.
