Thanks man. I was thinking about it. A few years ago when I got this truck I was looking for a clutch video. Mine needed it done. So here we are lol. Its probably routine to those with experience but I remember when it was all new to me. Appreciate you checking out my video RC brother! 🤘 👊
I also wanted to mention that you’re dune runner doesn’t have very many red cat parts on it lots of hop ups. Trust me I’m going through that with my red cat 😂 once you figure out all the corks they’re really not that bad simply put you have to upgrade them. After all that’s what the hobbies about right? Finding the failures and making them better. 👌😉😊😎
Right. Not many RC stay one brand. I will say that I have Redcat diffs and the whole center driveline is Redcat. Just belt drive, engine, and electronics are not Redcat. The wheels are way too big and heavy. So they are on a shelf. I have two sets of them. Had three but sold one set off. Really these Cats are as reliable as the Losi I have. Like you said. You have to figure out the weakness and address it. Nice chatting with you man!
Steel City RC yeah I was all set to go today but rain all day long. And I was not free yesterday witch would have been a great day for rc. Oh well at least it’s a short week.
Thanks man. I usually replace the bolts but figured they would be ok. Now the spring washers I would have waited to order new. I had a spring washer break and hang the clutch up before. It was when I was using a cheap amazon clutch setup a few years ago. Now I really like the Zenoah setup. It is my go to on these Redcats. I have a 8k CY clutch on my OBR 34cc and I don't like it. Needs too much throttle to get moving. So you live in Vermont?
Steel City RC when I replaced my 8000 Rpm clutch the first time it came with new bolts but two sets of friction pads. Yes I totally agree on the spring washers for sure. I’m running the 8000 Rpm CY clutch on my rampage XT it’s 30 cc I think it’s the perfect combination for my set up. I live in Iowa. The weather‘s been cold and crappy here too we’ve even had snow a couple times.
Steel City RC my red cat rampage XT is down right now a bearing went out in the front gearbox. When that happened it chewed the gearbox up and I’m replacing the two gearbox housing halves.
@@Meyers2strokeRcgarage ouch. Had that bearing deal happen to me too before. Not sure why I though you lived in Vermont. So it is Iowa. Man I have never been to Iowa.
Thanks man. Wish I could have tried it out today. It was raining. I just cleaned it lol. Didn't feel like doing it again. It has been showing signs of needing service. Then the clutch went out. First time ever. I usually replace before it gets that bad. Oh well. Uploading vids may be a thing of the past here soon. Hoping not but I can't afford 40k fine lol
@@SteelCityRC I feel that braap brother! Hopefully they get this fixed so we all can go back to the normal on our channels. Waiting patiently in high hopes lol!

Absolutely. I'm guessing the sand and fine rocks I been running in did it in. Cheap fix and ddm has them on special. So I stock up. Can't wait to bash again with ya brother. You never actually saw this truck run yet. See ya soon!! 👊
Indeed I am really into this hobby. Sometimes too much. My Lady said to me the other day. " If I had an antenna would you take as many pictures of me?" I almost fell over in laughter. Although I think she was serious LOL. Thanks for watching!!!!
I bought a new MT. I'm in the process of tearing it apart, replacing clutch,SuperBee Killswitch, new servos, futaba receiver, etc. In regards to the steering servos,I bought the hitech 845,or 840, can't remember. But,due to your video,I bought the left and right futaba aluminum mounts. I'm not concerned with sycronizing my servos, never had an issue matched with my 7pxr tx. From what I researched, along with what you have shown in your videos,I shouldn't have any issues with fitment, with those mounts? Oh,and I also replaced my throttle servo, all to match with a lipo.
@@toddnewhall5568 awesome. Redcat is ok once you put good electronics and engine. Aluminum diff housings are a must. The plastic housings allow too much flex. Also helical crown and pinion in place of the straight cut. I have a diff rebuild video on the MT and Dunerunner.
@@SteelCityRC ,yup I figured once they fail,I will replace them. As far as the engine, gonna run OBR 1242 carb and Jetpro pipe. Well, for now I bought the DDM Dominator. Just want to see how long that stock 32 will last..Once that engine gets weak, probably gonna throw in a slightly modded OBR,or go with a nice Zenoah esp like yours.
Best clutch video I've seen man thanks. Hey I've noticed when I opened up the clutch on my mt it had flat washers on both sides of the clutch shoe aswell as the spring washers under the bolt head shall I put them back on or just use the same as you've used? Also do u think a missing spring washer would make the truck jump forward when trying to start?
Appreciate that man! In my dealings with these centrifugal clutches. I have only seen the washers used as I put them on in the video. So a wave washer under the bolt head and a flat washer under the clutch to holder. But yes a broken wave washer will jam up the clutch possibly making it stick in the open position. But usually the truck trying to jump forward pulling the cord is a broken or popped out of place clutch spring. Is yours doing that?
@@SteelCityRC ok cool yea its jumping forward while pulling the cord aswel as moving forward while on idle I did upgrade the clutch shoe to a lightweight clutch so hopefully it's not that it does say it fits cy engine's. An the spring is also brands brand new
What's up and congrats! Hey man. Tuning is all per RC if you get what I mean. Yours could run and act differently than mine. Also I have a race ported head on a Zenoah g320 lower end. My stock engine blew up after 6 months. Never did run right. Anyway. I set the truck on a cinder block and strap it down. Then start low needle. You want it to have good rev right off idle. Then high needle. Hold wide open throttle till max RPM achieved then turn the needle 1/8 turn counterclockwise to richen a little.
What's up. Those are made by Proline. They call them Badlands mx43 on impulse wheels. They are for the Xmaxx. Will need to drill the center holes and get 24mm wheel hexes from the rear of a baja or use DGI one inch wheel extenders made for these trucks.
I'm having problems with my Redcat Rampage Mt when it warms up gets all nice and warm the motor bogs and if I stop and let sit for a few minutes the idle speed way up there and then it bogs when you give it some throttle out of ideas can you help me
I would try to loosen the fuel cap first. See if that helps the running condition. The MT is notorious for having fuel vapor lock not allowing proper fuel flow. Due to the fuel tank not being vented properly. If that is not the issue. I would go to the low needle on the carb and turn it counterclockwise 1/8th. turn. That will add more fuel and lower the idle. You may need to also increase the idle a bit with the screw afterwards. Give it a try and let me know
what do i need and where do i get it to run those types of wheels instead of what comes standard on the MT? i like the stocks but i want options for little more speed since they are so beefy
Hello. You have two choices. 1: Rovan baja rear wheel hexes on all four. For a standard offset. Or. 2: DGI 1 inch wheel extenders that come with four hexes. Either route will allow you to use pretty much any 5th scale wheel with a 24mm hex. To use Proline wheels for the Xmaxx. Drill the center hole with a 3/4 inch step drill bit. Thanks for watching.
@@queenzdipped7408 there are setscrews or some people call them grubscrews. They are throughout the driveline. Like all the center drive cups have them. The mounts behind the side transmission gears have them. I would be willing to bet it is loose or missing in the transmission
