If you have the plastic cap. Take the rubber nipple thing out of the cap keep the hard plastic piece and the rubber bubble seal. Then drill a bigger hole and thread a brake bleeder valve from a 1:1 truck. Get a one way dirtbike tank valve and hose. Clamp that hose and valve to the nipple. That solved hard starts after use under a half tank. No more suctioned in plastic tank etc. Those valves will need replaced frequently though. If it doesn't rattle when you shake it. Time to replace it.

Having most of the pro rampage parts are a huge plus! My stock fueline 32 ran a good 5-6 gallons before i had any issues. But it now has a brothers 32cc in it with a walbro 990
Ya the pro MT parts do help. Like you said. Some. I still use plastic arms etc. Need a weak point. Not gonna lie. I was gonna change the engine even if it didn't lose compression. The HY 32 is a dud. Can't go wrong with an OBR bro. You know it. Although ESP is righ there too. 👊🤘

Hey thanks!! I think with DGI 1 inch wheel extended hexes the Primal MT wheels will fit. I use those hexes and have yet to find a 24mm hex wheel that didn't fit. I had the Losi MTXL wheels on it before. Really looks scale with those on there. Just so hard on the drivetrain.

Nice! Let me know how it goes. I have been considering getting one myself. But had fears of destroying it off road. That is mainly where mine gets used. You mentioned failsafe. A failsafe and a remote killswitch are two different things. The failsafe applies the brakes where the killswitch actually shuts off the engine when needed. Appreciate you stopping by
Hello, videos are great, question I purchased A redact rampage mt new roller no motor or servos, installed a zenoah g230rc engine with the redcat clutch housing , when clutch engages mt moves in reverse. looking from the inside of the bell the bell would have to rotate ccw to move drive train forward, the engine rotates the bell looking into it cw moving the mt in reverse.
Ya know. A 2 stroke can run backwards through some google research. If your clutch is rotating clockwise. The engine is running backwards. If it is a new engine. Contact the seller. This is really interesting. Please keep me posted. Thanks for stopping by 👊 🤘
@@SteelCityRC Every thing is brand new roller bought of ebay what direction should the bell gear rotate to move forward. Mine would have to rotate CL to move forward. When the clutch engages the bell gear rotates CCL the direction of the clutch arrows and moves MT in reverse . What direction do your driveshafts turn to move forward to the rt. or left side of the Mt?
@@jchic9954 if the engine is rotating CCW the same direction as the arrow on the clutch it is running correctly at least. If the MT goes in reverse then the diffs need switched. The crown gears are on the wrong side. Good luck.
If I spin the clutch gear CW its spins the center diff gear towards the brakes driveshaft rotates to the right moving Mt forward. if i spin the clutch gear CCW center diff rotates towards battery box driveshafts rotate to the left Mt move in reverse.
I noticed you installed aluminum hub carriers in the front. I am installing mine bother outer and inner hub and I am having issues. For one, the stock screws holding them together are 1/4" too long. When screwed in they hit the drive cup. I had to put a spacer between the screw head and the aluminum hub. The second issue, there is a 1/16" space between the two parts where they pivot. Now I am stuck getting super thin washers to shim the space. If I tighten the upper and lower screws without the spacers the inner hub carrier binds. I sent pics to Redcat. We'll see what they say...
Hello. Yes I used aluminum hubs. To use the stock screws cut a few mm off the ends to make them shorter. Then load the screws with loctite. Otherwise they will work loose. Because you can't nail the screws down the steering will bind. I leave the steering links off till I tighten those screws properly and wait for the loctite to cure. That way you can test the knuckle how it steers without steering hindrance. Hope that helps
Thank you. The gas cap is stock. I drilled the center hole to 4mm and used a tap to make threads in it. Then got a 4mm nipple and used a vent valve tube from a dirtbike to go on the nipple. Used a zip tie to secure it. One thing I just found on a friends truck yesterday. His feed fuel hose with the filter clunk on the end in the tank wasn't in the tank far enough. That may also be an issue you are having. You can try to push the hose down into the tank gromment to be sure. Appreciate you stopping by 👊 🤘

Hey what is up! I have Arrma Kraton 8S wheels and tires on there currently. I also use DGI one inch wheel hex extenders on all four. Now it fits pretty much any 24mm hex wheel. Yes Redcat Rampage MT is an odd 23mm size. 24mm is the 5th scale standard size. Appreciate you stopping by 👊 🤘

I still follow that belt drive on eBay. But its been “out of stock” for almost a year. But the item is still there. Still havent gotten my hands on a alloy rear diff housing.
I have no clue why he doesn't offer it anymore. I get asked quite frequently about it. I recently saw the idler pulley was all worn down. It is plastic. So I put bearings of the same diameter it it's place. Seems ok. Belts are available here in the States. Wonder if gears can be had off ebay for the belt?

@@MetzRc84 I have seen Xmaxx belt pulley systems. If the tooth count matches. Their center hole is 8mm just like the Rampage MT shafts. Then use bearings like I did for the center idler. Message me sometime. We can figure something out

Great Video, I just got my Rampage MT bout a month ago new_.. I've bought and installed the air filter, changed the tires to the HPI baja rim and tire, Installed gas vent valve. Is there any thing you would suggest to make the Rampage MT faster. I've seen the 2 speed transmission for the Rampage MT but can't find one to purchase. I've seen the supercharger for the Rampage MT motor. But the redcat rampage forum talk says the supercharger won't work. What would you do... thanks
Hello. Great purchase man! If you haven't already. Get a remote killswitch for that truck first. Killer RC make one they call the Superbee. Excellent product to save your truck from a runaway. To answer your question. To get more top speed. You will need a higher gear ratio. Look into Redcat Dunerunner gears for the transmission. Also I have seen a 2 speed on ebay. Hey what's up man! The Rampage MT is a fun truck. But I wouldn't really recommend it as a new guy to 5th scales. I think the Losi 5iveT 2.0 would be better for you. It comes with a good stout engine stock. And the truck itself is the King of 5th scales. So many upgrades for it. The Rampage MT has it's place. But will not be nearly as reliable to you. I wouldn't have time to build anything for you at this time. I have a full time job and cars of my own unfinished lol. Sorry I am no help there. But for real look into the Losi and steer clear of Redcat for now. I am an auto tech and almost threw the Rampage MT in the river before. It is frustrating sometimes.

Here is a video I made using a single servo for steering. I also highly recommend replacing the radio system and the throttle servo. I like the MT tires that came with it, but they seem bouncy to me... and the suspension doesn't get a chance to absorb bumbs... the tires don't seem to be vented and they don't compress the air out easily... is this what is causing the bouncing stiff suspension experience? Or are the shocks too stiff? So what about venting the tires? What about even removing foam insert? Thank you!

Hello. I have used two different exhaust pipes on here. I had a DDM Dominator on it for a few years. It works great. Then I ordered an Olimat Engineering pipe for it. It is a bit louder than the Dominator pipe. But performance is about the same. Either one will do you well. The DDM Dominator is easier to get. They have it in stock. @@SteelCityRC Thanks for the speedy reply, did you use a conversion kit for your brushless? I made a plate for the motor and used parts from a crashed one I picked up to couple the motor to a 2nd way gear shaft then put the standard square drive gear gear on the end so all in all its just a brushless motor where the old 2 stroke was, I put the batteries where the fuel tank was. I used an 800kv 5692 brushless motor I got off ebay but I think it needs a 56112 cause it gets a bit hot.
@@mickg1637 I brought it as a roller. At one time a guy here in USA made a conversion kit. I have the setup from that kit in mine. I put an older Castle 780kv 2028 motor paired with a Hobbywing max5 ESC. Runs very well.
This truck is nice. I just wish RC would bring back a 1/5 electronic Rampage that is durable with a center diff and updated. That would be amazing. Plastic chassis or aluminum 7075 chassis

Hey thanks! I have a Zenoah g320 engine and use the 6K clutch it comes with. I tried a 8K clutch and spring when I had the stock engine. I didn't like having to pull half throttle before it would move.
@@Paytenmenard1986 I recommend getting one of these measuring cups. It makes getting the mix ratio correct easy. Just pour 2 stroke oil into the cup to the 25:1 line on the cup for how many gallons you are mixing. I generally mix one gallon at a time. Also try to find a gas station who sells ethanol free gas. Oh my! Hope nobody got hurt! I had two runaway on me. Both I had the Killer RC Superbee remote killswitch on luckily. But it is straight panic when it happens. The Rampage MT is known to have a crappy throttle servo stock. My suggestion is a Savox 1210 servo for it. That servo will give you years of trouble free usage. Thanks for stopping by 👊 🤘

What is up! Yeah man the belt drive system is nice. The shafts are too small in diameter for the drag of the belt tension though. Still better than the powder steel gears Redcat gives you. I have a newer video installing some Maverick gears that seem more stout. Check it out.

You mentioned failsafe. A failsafe and a remote killswitch are two different things. The failsafe applies the brakes where the killswitch actually shuts off the engine when needed. Appreciate you stopping by

Hello, videos are great, question I purchased A redact rampage mt new roller no motor or servos, installed a zenoah g230rc engine with the redcat clutch housing , when clutch engages mt moves in reverse. looking from the inside of the bell the bell would have to rotate ccw to move drive train forward, the engine rotates the bell looking into it cw moving the mt in reverse.
Ya know. A 2 stroke can run backwards through some google research. If your clutch is rotating clockwise. The engine is running backwards. If it is a new engine. Contact the seller. This is really interesting. Please keep me posted. Thanks for stopping by 👊 🤘
I suspect the flywheel is loose and possibly broke the flywheel key. Or even possibly broken flywheel.
@@SteelCityRC Every thing is brand new roller bought of ebay what direction should the bell gear rotate to move forward. Mine would have to rotate CL to move forward. When the clutch engages the bell gear rotates CCL the direction of the clutch arrows and moves MT in reverse . What direction do your driveshafts turn to move forward to the rt. or left side of the Mt?
@@jchic9954 if the engine is rotating CCW the same direction as the arrow on the clutch it is running correctly at least. If the MT goes in reverse then the diffs need switched. The crown gears are on the wrong side. Good luck.
If I spin the clutch gear CW its spins the center diff gear towards the brakes driveshaft rotates to the right moving Mt forward. if i spin the clutch gear CCW center diff rotates towards battery box driveshafts rotate to the left Mt move in reverse.
I noticed you installed aluminum hub carriers in the front. I am installing mine bother outer and inner hub and I am having issues. For one, the stock screws holding them together are 1/4" too long. When screwed in they hit the drive cup. I had to put a spacer between the screw head and the aluminum hub.
The second issue, there is a 1/16" space between the two parts where they pivot. Now I am stuck getting super thin washers to shim the space. If I tighten the upper and lower screws without the spacers the inner hub carrier binds.
I sent pics to Redcat. We'll see what they say...
Hello. Yes I used aluminum hubs. To use the stock screws cut a few mm off the ends to make them shorter. Then load the screws with loctite. Otherwise they will work loose. Because you can't nail the screws down the steering will bind. I leave the steering links off till I tighten those screws properly and wait for the loctite to cure. That way you can test the knuckle how it steers without steering hindrance. Hope that helps

I don't think I had to shim anything. If I remember correctly there are brass bushings in the knuckles to allow pivot

Hey Brother awesome Truck!! Where can I get that gas cap from so my truck stops stalling from non air in gas tank.
Thank you. The gas cap is stock. I drilled the center hole to 4mm and used a tap to make threads in it. Then got a 4mm nipple and used a vent valve tube from a dirtbike to go on the nipple. Used a zip tie to secure it. One thing I just found on a friends truck yesterday. His feed fuel hose with the filter clunk on the end in the tank wasn't in the tank far enough. That may also be an issue you are having. You can try to push the hose down into the tank gromment to be sure. Appreciate you stopping by 👊 🤘

Hey what is up! I have Arrma Kraton 8S wheels and tires on there currently. I also use DGI one inch wheel hex extenders on all four. Now it fits pretty much any 24mm hex wheel. Yes Redcat Rampage MT is an odd 23mm size. 24mm is the 5th scale standard size. Appreciate you stopping by 👊 🤘

I still follow that belt drive on eBay. But its been “out of stock” for almost a year. But the item is still there. Still havent gotten my hands on a alloy rear diff housing.
I have no clue why he doesn't offer it anymore. I get asked quite frequently about it. I recently saw the idler pulley was all worn down. It is plastic. So I put bearings of the same diameter it it's place. Seems ok. Belts are available here in the States. Wonder if gears can be had off ebay for the belt?

@@MetzRc84 I have seen Xmaxx belt pulley systems. If the tooth count matches. Their center hole is 8mm just like the Rampage MT shafts. Then use bearings like I did for the center idler. Message me sometime. We can figure something out

Great Video, I just got my Rampage MT bout a month ago new_.. I've bought and installed the air filter, changed the tires to the HPI baja rim and tire, Installed gas vent valve. Is there any thing you would suggest to make the Rampage MT faster.

I've seen the supercharger for the Rampage MT motor. But the redcat rampage forum talk says the supercharger won't work.

Hello. Great purchase man! If you haven't already. Get a remote killswitch for that truck first. Killer RC make one they call the Superbee. Excellent product to save your truck from a runaway. To answer your question. To get more top speed. You will need a higher gear ratio. Look into Redcat Dunerunner gears for the transmission. Also I have seen a 2 speed on ebay. Hey what's up man! The Rampage MT is a fun truck. But I wouldn't really recommend it as a new guy to 5th scales. I think the Losi 5iveT 2.0 would be better for you. It comes with a good stout engine stock. And the truck itself is the King of 5th scales. So many upgrades for it. The Rampage MT has it's place. But will not be nearly as reliable to you. I wouldn't have time to build anything for you at this time. I have a full time job and cars of my own unfinished lol. Sorry I am no help there. But for real look into the Losi and steer clear of Redcat for now. I am an auto tech and almost threw the Rampage MT in the river before. It is frustrating sometimes.

Here is a video I made using a single servo for steering. I also highly recommend replacing the radio system and the throttle servo. Hey my friend... I like the MT tires that came with it, but they seem bouncy to me... and the suspension doesn't get a chance to absorb bumbs... the tires don't seem to be vented and they don't compress the air out easily... is this what is causing the bouncing stiff suspension experience?
Or are the shocks too stiff?
So what about venting the tires? What about even removing foam insert? Thank you!
Hello. It almost sounds like your wheels are out of balance. Also maybe service the shocks? I use Losi 50w shock oil in all four shocks. Hope it helps

Hello. I have used two different exhaust pipes on here. I had a DDM Dominator on it for a few years. It works great. Then I ordered an Olimat Engineering pipe for it. It is a bit louder than the Dominator pipe. But performance is about the same. Either one will do you well. The DDM Dominator is easier to get. They have it in stock. @@SteelCityRC Thanks for the speedy reply, did you use a conversion kit for your brushless? I made a plate for the motor and used parts from a crashed one I picked up to couple the motor to a 2nd way gear shaft then put the standard square drive gear gear on the end so all in all its just a brushless motor where the old 2 stroke was, I put the batteries where the fuel tank was. I used an 800kv 5692 brushless motor I got off ebay but I think it needs a 56112 cause it gets a bit hot.
@@mickg1637 I brought it as a roller. At one time a guy here in USA made a conversion kit. I have the setup from that kit in mine. I put an older Castle 780kv 2028 motor paired with a Hobbywing max5 ESC. Runs very well.

Hey thanks! I have a Zenoah g320 engine and use the 6K clutch it comes with. I tried a 8K clutch and spring when I had the stock engine. I didn't like having to pull half throttle before it would move.
What scale is the body 1/7 or 1/5?

@@Paytenmenard1986 I recommend getting one of these measuring cups. It makes getting the mix ratio correct easy. Just pour 2 stroke oil into the cup to the 25:1 line on the cup for how many gallons you are mixing. I generally mix one gallon at a time. Also try to find a gas station who sells ethanol free gas. Oh my! Hope nobody got hurt! I had two runaway on me. Both I had the Killer RC Superbee remote killswitch on luckily. But it is straight panic when it happens. The Rampage MT is known to have a crappy throttle servo stock. My suggestion is a Savox 1210 servo for it. That servo will give you years of trouble free usage. Thanks for stopping by 👊 🤘

There are a lot of parts that will universally fit the Rampage MT at DDM racing. But most are just Redcat upgrades. Like the aluminum diff housings and gears. Appreciate you stopping by 👊 🤘

What is up! Yeah man the belt drive system is nice. The shafts are too small in diameter for the drag of the belt tension though. Still better than the powder steel gears Redcat gives you. I have a newer video installing some Maverick gears that seem more stout. Check it out.
