Can you please mention, if it calculated steps while you were cycling or driving because I have a smartwatch which increases steps while I'm driving which it should not.
Still got mine but I'm at that charging frustration stage I had with the Pebble. Ten days is great but main issue 1) Black screen when battery dies; No clock only mode on low power. So had a dead watch on my wrist other day. 2)Charging way too long 3) Macbook Connectivity major headache and waste of time. 4) GPS accuracy terrible. Could live with some issues if connectivity & black screen was resolved. Considering Garmin Vivoactive & maybe BIP.

Great watch and great review! However, I mostly use the Bip due to the smaller size. On the other hand, if you want more advanced features, the Stratos is the way to go.
I like the Bip because I don't have to charge it too often, this one for the looks :)

This honestly the one which I think fits my needs, but it costs the same as my actual smartphone, so expensive for me.

Maybe check out the Amazfit BIP, about one third of the price of the Stratos. It's much lighter to wear, battery life way better (about a month between recharges possible) and very nearly the same functionality.

Just get the Pace for half the price. Stratos is overpriced IMO, I was about to upgrade my Pace, but then I realized that the Pace2 (Stratos) is not much of an upgrade.

The subjected item is “Amazfit Stratos” which the issue had encountered approximately after 6 months of normal use. The issue was what I least expected
since the product was especially known as a highly durable product.
The back glass of the watch (under the Heart rate sensor) had dismounted from the watch without any impact. This has happened while I was wearing the watch & without my knowledge. Sametime the light rays (or light source) that are used to monitor HR, had wounded my wrist leaving a doubt that, "are these products safe to wear".
The product seller & #Amazfit support team refused to claim the warranty saying that it is a physical damage, which is not. ultimately it leaves me a broken watch without heart
rate sensing & with a broken airtight seal (which the specification says it can withstand 5 ATM underwater).
Even the #Amazfit support team will not take responsibility for their faulty products. I presume that you should buy Amazfit products at your own risk.

Mine lasted 3 months and 2 days, the rear lens for the heartbeat monitor
fell of and allowed water to enter the watch, i was left with a dead
watch and asked to return and pay all associated fees for transport and
spare parts. i would suggest you avoid this product. or is this just
Banggood VIP service.

I really wanted to like my Stratos but it's like the old Hyuandai of watches. My previous watch was a G235 and overlaying the Stratos data over nearly 16 months of 235 data I just can't give it glowing reviews when it comes to heart rate or GPS. My initial reason for getting it was the smartphone connectivity improvements over my 235 but in all honesty besides the music feature again no real world gain for me. I do LOVE the design it is awesome awesome awesome....however the build quality seems...meh. I have already noticed a small crack where the quick fit band connects and I know some super glue would probably fix the issue with the band coming out but for a 2 month old watch come on! I do believe within 18 months this will be the midrange quality contender and will unseat both FitBit and Polar. If you are interested in a watch with more style and phone connectivity you CAN NOT go wrong with this price as it can easily be had for $149 or less with a little digging. This brand will be around for awhile...it just may take a few tweaks in quality improvements to get fence sitters from GARMIN/SUUNTO to get there.
PRIVATE USER hey! Has the music feature been good? Like is the volume okay and does the bluetooth work well while running or doing other activities?

1)The display can be illuminated for 24 hours?
2) In order for the watch to function the cellphone must be nearby?
3) You know the case dimensions of the watch? Is 46mm or 48mm without the buttons?
4) Can i find watch faces of famous watch brands, aka U-Boat etc.?

@HB but Apple too expensive.. but its ok.. i already bought the watch today so i will test and have experience with it... Now im use amazfit bip i got the screen problems at the edge of the screen get dim and this is the second watch after clam warrant and the same problem..

Great review, thanks. Not being able to reply to notifications it really isn't too smart. Great for sports, screen and battery - your review is really spot on.

Thanks for sharing! I agree with the macbook connectivity... but in all fairness macs don't do good with anything aside iPhones :)
Charging...i let the watch charge over night...
Everythung seems ok, but part of the screen at the bottom, that is dead, is just anoing and it keeps me away from buying it...

I have had my Stratos for two years and I have some issues. The sleep analyser is total crap doesn’t work anymore. The heart rate monitor also doesn’t work and to top things off, Ive now got a screen burn circle that just appeared this week. Up until now I quite liked this watch. I didn’t want to buy an Apple Watch as I have everything else Apple. Desktop, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad. I wanted to change things up so Apple don’t have the monopoly with me. But.... it looks like long term durability isn’t something Amazefit can offer. Google the burn circles to see what I mean.
By the way. This review is very good but long term ownership will prove me right. Cheers

To all those watching. There are definite plus points to this watch, but the charging unit issues may be a deal breaker for some. Overall quality control seems to be the issue. Can't be arsed to go through the lottery and send the unit back and hope to get a decent one. Wouldn't buy another one. Thinking if the Pebble's are still available.
UPDATE: Firmware update has improved charging. USB now about 1~1.5hrs
I'm very new to GPS watch. Does it means that I have to carry my smartphone with me (for synching information to the app) every time I wear the watch for sporting activity?
One thing to know about metallic straps, the compass will stop working. This is also true for the Amazfit Bip.

Important to note that if continuous HR mode is on, then for some reason the HR monitoring in activities tends to be very inaccurate. This appears to be a software issue.

i have a question. when im listening long time duration music, like dj mixes, can i forward and rewind the music? and how about the bluetooth connection with headset in a forest or in the street? because my polar m600 in these situations is poor.
Well presented review. Only discovered this model today after looking for something to replace my phone and (former Pebble) on my runs. Seems like quite a few ppl receiving Chinese versions instead of English from third party sellers. I'll order. Hopefully will get a good unit. Cheers
If you get one with the Chinese ROM you can flash the English version on it. Check out the XDA forums

I have it now for a couple of days, just haven't been able to sync my indoor swim activity to Strava. The Mi fit and Amazefit apps are a bit confusing, they both seem to look the same, although the Amazefit tool app only works with the Mi Fit app. Another thing i've found is that you can't connect to Google fit unless you've signed up with your google account. Overal i do think this is a nice watch to have for a mediocre sportsman like me :)
Hi i just buy it and still confuse how to use it, can this watch automatic record our activities like walk and rest ? or we have to choose to start activities in the watch ?

during activity real live data (distance, pace, time, ...) get stopped (after aprox. 10 sec) and then i have to push the middle button
if i want to get real live data back and after short time stops again. Any idea how to keep real time data always on.

Went to your channel for seeking reference. I need a watch that compatible with music playlist inside. So, I don't have to bring phone (on my pocket) just to listen to music I like. Just got mine. Still getting used to size. Which is strange as had Suunto Observer 44x13, & Sportura at 12mm. Specs shows Suuntos biggest at approx Suunto 9 50x50x17, then Garmins 43x43x13.5~15, then Stratos 46x46x12.7. Ambit 18, Core 14.5. It may haven't worn a watch for a while, but Amazfit could design similar size but lower looking profile.

this watch doesn't calories while I'm not working out, If I go for a bike ride early in the morning, it gives me 500 burned just for the ride. But when I check my total calories burned at the end of the day is something like 600 calories total, what a disappointment. I have reset to factory settings, review my weigh and height are accurate and I have made sure the the watch it has the continuous heart rate feature on. Does anyone has a similar issue and has being able to resolve it?

I am still very torn between the Amazfit Stratos and the Ticwatch E. I use my smartwatch for work and I work mostly at night. I mostly use it to check and respond to whatsapp, facebook messenger, and Google chat messages without having to dig my phone out of my pocket.
than this isn't for you. You cannot reply to notifications, you can only see them. To reply you need your phone, the other one may be better for your situation

Hey! I just bought my Amazfit Stratos today, and I did everything to sync with my phone. I went for a swim to test the watch and it was amazing! The problem is, when I turn on my phone to check the results they didnt come up! It only appears the daily steps that I made! I could use some help of you guys! Ty

An awesome and beautiful watch indeed! I got mine last week, love it.
What do you think about the charging dock? I'm kinda nervous to not break the charging pins whenever I use it. Needs a fair amount of force to connect and disconnect the watch. That would be the only downside for me :)
For whomever may concern, the watch can sync with Strava for running activities which is great.
Thanks for mentioning that about Strava! Never used it ever! After you charge it a few times the charger will get looser and it won't feel like that anymore!
Sure, no problem! Strava is great because it gives you the social aspect which the Amazfit app doesn't have (sharing tracks, challenges, comments, pictures and whatnot).

Hi, is it possible to change the pulse display in the watch settings? I mean to show% HR Max and not in bpm. this is the only condition for which I will buy this watch or not. Hi, you can have the watch display different things during sporting activities, you can adjust that from the app. The heart rate monitor doesn't do to great when the watch is in the water...and I haven't used it in a covered pool so I cannot confirm...only used it in the ocean

it calculates calories as well and you should get about 10-14 days on a charge
How does it work for triathlon? I have seen no reviews for that? Does it automatically split the track data to swim/bike/run or do I have to add manual points while changing?

no, it can be disconnected from the phone as long as you want. It will sync the info to the phone when connected again
Hey Redskull. Did you have issues connecting your watch to a Mac? Also, how'd you transfer songs directly from a phone to the watch?
I didn't even try using it with the MAC, did it directly with a windows computer... from the Amazfit App you can upload them with a couple of click

Nice review. I have some doubts about it after checking the opinions of the phone app on iTunes store, but also the internet. People complain about how the app is limited, that it doesn't have enough options to set etc. I'm looking for a watch that actually look like a watch, but also handles the notifications well. Im thinking about going for Stratos, but I heard some stories about problems like: you get couple of the notifications from Messenger, but can only read the most recent one. Could you confirm this problem exist or existed? Generally it would be nice to see a review focused on notifications feature, how stable it is and things. Im wondering how much battery is being drained from phone when the watch is connected and the app is working in background (iOS here). I was also curious if the vibration strength is nice and adjustable. Looking at the reviews of iOS app now - 1.9/5 is pretty low. I've bought the Tommy Hilfiger TH24/7 watch which was a failure, had to return it - the watch looked and feeled amazing, but the software done by HP was a disaster, problems with connections etc. Thanks
the notifications aren't the best thing about this phone. Some apps show multiple notifications but some just show that you have two or more messages and cannot read them individually.
the battery drain is insignificant ...at lease for my Samsung S9+ that I used with it. The vibration can be adjusted, there are 3 levels. I haven't used the watch with an iPhone so i can't say anything about that

You may want to download the app on your smartphone. You can use Bluetooth headphones with it to listen to music

Does this watch feels a little big for sports? In you cycling activity I saw the watch was place low on your wrist and the buttons were digging in. I'd like to get it mainly for cycling, using the gpx import for navigation and HR. Some other activites (gym, threadmill) as well. Or should I stick to the pace 1? This would be my first smartwatch / fitness watch.
Can you measure the diameter of the watch?
Can you turn the watch upside down in your left hand? Is there such an option in the firmware?

I got the stratos 2 weeks ago and it's my first smart/fitness watch.. I personally dont feel it's too big but maybe because i was wearing a much thicker watch before..when starting the watch, it asked if you're using it on your left or right wrist.so i suppose u can flip the display to suit which wrist you put it on.. Anyway, I've been using it for abit of soccer and treadmill.. Seems to do a decent job.. I like how it vibrate if my heart rate is too high.. Make me slow down a little

I would get this because it has better battery life. A bit early for watchfaces but I am sure there will be 3rd party apps that will let you download more
