It’s not just about SEEING the Grand Canyon; it’s about experiencing being in the PRESENCE of the Grand Canyon.
It really is!!
I've never been, but I know you can't get the full effect through words or even videos.
You said it, brother. NO FILM can do it justice. You have to see it for yourself. It's like touching the face of God.
So i'm not a woo woo guy
But Lawd when I saw it for the first time
It's a thing for sure
When I saw this for the first time, two Nuns drove up, and were so overwhelmed, they sang, “How Great Thou Art!” What a wonderful extra experience that added to the trip!
@@ruthhulthen1111 What a lovely story!
I too was crying and singing "How Great Thou Art" when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time! How can you not be awe struck by the power and beauty of God's creations?
Praise God
@@back2black717 it was erosion from the ocean.

I am 59 lived in Texas since birth. I thank you "Cubans" for showing me "American" all the beauty in America. I love you guys so much. So glad you enjoy America.
Wow thank you so much. This made me teary.
Seeing things through Yoel’s eyes does bring a new perspective. ❤️from a Texan living in Yosemite.
They are Americans now ❤
They are Americans ❤
NYC here I agree soo much.
Seeing it from the top for the first time is one thing that never leaves your memory, but hiking down a couple thousand feet into the canyon is when you begin to understand just how mind blowing and magnificent the Grand Canyon is. Waterfalls, creeks, cottonwood trees, and a lot of unexpected sights that truly take your breath away. Great video!
But we're Cuban. We know how to wait in a line.
That broke me up.
We hope you all live a very long and happy life in the USA.
Thank you so much Nemo.
The only reaction you can have at the Grand Canyon is stunned silence and appreciation of the beauty.
It was awe jarring. It’s unreal. Unfarhomable
I told you many times kid. I've camped there over 10 times!
@@ecclesrice9789well when you return to Mather Campground the only thing I ask is that you leave nothing but teardrops because water is a precious resource here😂😂😂 I'm lucky enough to say that Mather Campground is a couple thousand feet away from me and I live less than a thousand feet away from the rim
It left me totally speechless. Seen pictures, but they can't prepare you. There are no words for it!
I was dumbstruck. COuldn't speak for at least 5 minutes.
My family left Cuba when Castro took over and my mother ALWAYS loved America. My mom has passed but she left me with that same love for this country....plus a connection to Cuba and the Cuban people. Hopefully one day the lives of both countries can be connected by peace and prosperity!
I hope so too!
That would be awesome
Here here
I started to cry too. God bless America and Canada. Bless us both and keep democracy so that others can enjoy this wonder.
The idea of our national parks-- that this natural beauty is for all of us, preserved forever -- is one of the great things about our country
Owned by us all, unlike Europe where it was owned by the gentry. America’s best idea.
@blairduddy9145, but you may know that it didn't start out this way. John Muir and his many friends had to coax and coddle president after president to not let the national parks become a money-making scheme for selfish people, which so many wanted to do. After all, the logging industry would have logged every last one of the Sequoias and Redwoods if they hadn't been stopped, and uranium mining would be going on in the Grand Canyon today if several nearby tribes hadn't fought hard for years to stop those groups once and for all (at least there) with the Baaj Nwaavjo/I’tah Kukveni Grand Canyon National Monument on Aug. 8 of last year. The battle cry seems to be "money first; beauty dead last" for way too many people.
@@jimgreen5788 And that's another one of the great things about our country -- we can make petitions & advocate for the things we believe in. People often think of "the government" as some entity, but the government is us. We vote for public officials. We vote for laws. Whatever we have is what we as a group chose, and if we don't like it, we can work to change it.
@@miriamrobarts , so true!
The Grand Canyon is what words like stunning and breathtaking were meant for.
Yalls patriotism always brings a tear to my eye. God bless y’all and god bless America! You have a fan in me for life.
Okay, I’m convinced….lets send all those who hate America to Cuba & bring all the Cubans who love America here. You’re more American than many natural born Americans. I personally am so happy to have you both in this amazing country! I’ve been to the Grand Canyon twice in my life & it’s still on my bucket list to visit because one or too visits aren’t nearly enough! The beauty of it is simply astounding.
It brings me to tears to see how moved you are and I'm so moved by how much you love America... We welcome immigrants like you that see the beauty of and the people in our country. I can't wait for you to see Yosemite and Yellowstone. All are majestic and amazing in their own ways.

People just don't understand the awe until you have been there
100%
Couldn't agree more. If you have the means to, you must see it
No picture or video can convey it. The SPACE is overwhelming.
You are standing on they ground, feet firmly planted, and yet it feels like you are on top of the world. The not-quite, but almost vertigo of the scale as the canyon walls drop away from you for miles. It's breath-taking, awe-inspiring and a little nauseating. There's nothing like it.
I'm so glad to be able to follow you guys on your journey discovering America. Yoel & Mari are the perfect example of the type of immigrant that America needs. Keep leading the way ya'll and setting the example for others to follow. God bless.
Thank you so so much. I hope we can do more like this. God willing
From the first time I discovered your videos I was hooked. You are a wonderful couple and so glad you have friends from your former country here with you. Please tell them welcome!
I hope God continues to bless your journey.❤
We have been very blessed. And many thanks to this channel and you guys who engage with us. Thank you so so much. You really have no idea how much it means to us
America has some of the very best natural landscapes on Earth
The Grand Canyon is one of the truest examples of the power of the elements. When you sit and think about how the elements (water, wind, and fire), in conjunction with tectonic uplift, carved this wonder you can't help but be in awe of the power of it all. It's truly an amazing sight to behold.
Been there a few times and it is breathtaking!! I was grumpy about getting up before dawn to watch the sunrise ...then watched it and cried at the beauty. For me it was a religious experience. Thanks for sharing with us!
The hardest thing to capture is the sheer scale. Even on video, it just kind of looks like you're on a mountain overlooking other mountains. Its something you truly have to see to fully grasp how otherworldly huge it is.
I remember walking from the parking lot and thinking "all i see are these trees" and then it just appears in front of you. My reaction was the same as his: utter disbelief.
I hope they never cut down those trees. The sudden reveal of the Grand Canyon is life changing.
the experience of the Grand Canyon just helps put everything into perspective & makes you realize sitting in silence & enjoy the wild natural beauty is the best kind of freedom
You don't go and just SEE the wonder of the Grand Canyon - you LIVE that wonder!
I love your channel because you have so much appreciation for America. Thank you for reminding Americans how fortunate we are to live in this country blessed by God.
I have never had a desire to see the Grand Canyon because I don’t like hot places. Now I want to see it.
@@lisalarouge6309 Go in April!
I’ve been to the Grand Canyon back in 2003, hiked all the way down camped overnight and then hiked all the way back up. I have tons of amazing photos. One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.
That’s a LONG hike. I did it as a teenager in the “70’s.
Was going to try and hike it but to much for an old lady . We were at the North REM.
Was going to try and hike it but to much for an old lady . We were at the North REM.
I did the same thing back in 2010 except I didn't camp. I hiked down to the river, crossed it a few times and then hiked back up on the same day. The most insane, difficult but memorable day of my life. Took me at least a week to recover.
I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time 2 months ago and my reaction was the same. I am glad you enjoyed it. Welcome to the U.S. God Bless you all!
Thank you for showing our wonderful Grand Canyon . I have been there 3 times. Once with my Colombian wife. She was in AWE. We will go back very soon. You almost made me cry Mari..
I love your reactions and how much you appreciate our country! Playing America the Beautiful while showing the gorgeous sunset was next level gratitude! God bless America and the two of you! 🇺🇸🙏🏻🌄
Thank you both for recording your appreciation for the majesty of the USA.
Glad you enjoyed it
Muchisimas Gracias Yoel y Mari! PLEASE keep reminding us who were born here that we should be GRATEFUL for everything we have been blessed with and yet constantly take for granted. We Love You!❤
As an American I haven't seen it. Thank you for letting me see it though your eyes. God bless you and America 🇺🇸 Thank you for giving this blessing. ❤
I visited the Grand Canyon in 2011 with my late wife, she passed away in 2020. We had the same reaction and it brought a tear to my eye to see your reactions - such good memories of what has to be the most visually stunning place on Earth.
No words and no photographs or videos! You cannot fathom the grandeur until you see it in person! So glad you got to see it!
I've been there a few times and each time its humbling.
Words cannot describe the Grand Canyon, it truly is an emotional experience that Ya'll will never forget
My grandma hiked down to the bottom, went rafting, brought back up by mule, she was 75 at the time and lived to 101. My husband and I went 20 yrs ago, it is too much to take in, i also cried.
We were at the rim for about 20 minutes but I would love do what your grandma did. Sounds like a wonderful trip.
@@doloresbriseno2567 Get great shoes, she lost her toenails.
@@tinagarcia3571 Great tip.
@@tinagarcia3571 Can verify: Worst blisters I ever got were heading down to the river from the North Rim. And then I still had to make it back up again. Second time, and ever since, I did have the right shoes, and it makes all the difference in the world.
@@llanitedave yes it does.
I spoke to an artist when my family went to see the canyon and he told me that most of the people he'd observed over the 40 years that he began painting usually stood and gazed at this miracle of nature for less than 30 seconds. That is just sad to me, how little we as a whole hardly take the time to see how truly beautiful the world is.
It sure wasn't like that when we were there. If they turned away it was usually to go get another vantage point.
Not at all what I saw. People just stood in awe.
This country is truly majestic in the beauty it has to offer and our ability to see it freely. God bless you two, and may your wonder and curiousity never leave you on your journey of discovery of all the bounties this great nation has to offer.
I am Navajo, our lands border the canyon and I grew up ranching cattle and often visited the canyon. Thx for visiting, my son's and I still visit the area but we mostly just camp and hunt big game around there. Literally my backyard! Lol. Let me know if u wanna go hunting?
I feel the indigenous vibe the minute I look at this. Also as a kid when I went to Yosemite every year with my family. I always felt the presence of the Native American spirit. It is a shame we wiped out a connection to the Land and to the Earth that is a REVERENCE. Even as a Native Californian, from Nor Cal it is the love for the TIERRA as we say in Spanish that connects you.
@@sueprator9314 I have cousins that used to have homes very close to the Canyon, in fact their last name is Colorado, like the river. When the park expanded on the eastern side year ago, my cousins were displaced and ask to pack up and leave with no warning! Sad.
So many people think the Southwest is just dirt. IT IS SO MUCH MORE! #4corners
Thank you both for keeping us grateful for what we have.
I'm 61 and an American all my life and YOU have seen more of this country than I have. And I say that with happy tears in my eyes. God Bless You Yoel and Mari !
I love seeing things through your eyes. It's so heartwarming. I always think of how much water was once there to do that. Can you imagine? God put amazing things in our world by his hands.
I can empathize, first time I saw it I was completely humbled..... THank you both.
No words or pictures can do it justice. You have to see it to actually get the scope of this wonderful place. It is impossible to describe.
That must be where the word “breathtaking!” Comes from. ♥️♥️
The Grand Canyon is breathtaking, from every angle but at sunset, insanely beautiful.
You all are such an inspiration! God Bless and much peace!
Wow thank you so so much for the super tip!!! We really really appreciate it. Mari take long time to make each video and this is very kind of you.
I was there in 1979, with my Parents, older Brother and Sister, was such a beautiful memorable trip
I had the same reaction back in 2017 when i visited. No words, no pictures, no videos do it justice. U said it… u have to go see it!!😢😢
Nothing!!!!! It’s unreal. Nothing will capture it like your eues
I'm American, born and raised, and have never had the opportunity to see this beauty. But here I am, crying, seeing it through your eyes. It's beyond majestic. It's been on my bucket list for so long. I feel like that, as humans, you must feel very small in comparison to this wonder. I'm so glad you got a chance to see this miracle of a place. ❤
Where do you live? Please send us an email. YoelandMari@gmail.com
"...have never had the opportunity to see this beauty"
If there's every any big trip you can make during your lifetime, going to see the Grand Canyon would definitely be worth it. Please go if you're able at some point.
Seeing pictures and video don't do it justice. When you're there in person you can really feel the scale of it. It's an existential experience. I highly recommend visiting during the winter. There's less traffic and it's so much more beautiful when it's covered in snow. You can camp near the rim for free. Just take the right gear to deal with the cold.
Hello! Luv u guys ....have u ever been to big bear? Its very beautiful once u get there @@YoelAndMari
I'll repeat what everyone else says. Even if you've seen pictures of it all your life, nothing can prepare you for the size of it. I did feel infinitesimally small.
I think all of your videos should be required in our schools. Children need to be taught how fortunate they are to be in such a wonderful country.
Wow! That’s the most cinematographic and best video I’ve seen in a long time.
You both made me cry with pride. We take for granted the beauty and the freedom we have here. Thank you for allowing us on your journey and loving the US more each day. God bless you both.❤
Me and the wife just got back from visiting the GRAND CANYON from Tennessee. Breath Taking ! GOD IS GOOD !
You know what brought me to tears? Near the end, while you were playing *_America._* That song alone brings back almost 70 years of memories of this beautiful, God-blessed land I am proud to call home.
I'm so happy for you. That sunset you captured was absolutely stunning. So many stories of seeing the Grand Canyon include tears .. its like evidence of God. Thank you for sharing.
Seeing the Grand Canyon in person is truly life changing! When I saw it for the first time, my eyes could see it but my mind was having trouble processing what I was seeing. It is so huge, so breathtaking, and so awe inspiring, it's difficult to wrap your head around it! You literally just need to sit there and try to take it all in. After about an hour, it starts to feel real! We are so blessed to have such beauty within our borders for all to enjoy and appreciate!! Mari & Yoel, I am so thrilled you and your friends got to enjoy it!! Our National Parks are one of the best things about America!
You have a way with words, makes it sound unreal...like a dream.
I've never been in the Grand Canyon but I have been to Canyon de Chelly and had the same experience. Takes the breath away and left me with no words.
My first visit to the Grand Canyon was in 1969 and it breathtaking. I now live a couple of hours south, near Flagstaff. I am fortunate to be able to visit several times a year and it is still as breathtaking as it was 55 years ago. I love seeing the reaction of first time visitors, the dropped jaws, the wide eyes, the WOWs. I am glad you made it there. Don’t be a stranger, come back often.
It’s a privilege being in the U.S. Being in the Navy and seeing the world you experience what we take for granted. That’s freedom. Amen and God Bless. Thanks for sharing
Glad you get to show America to everyone. I hope you had a blast. > You remember this forever. Bring your children back too! Thanks for the video. Keep em coming. Be Blessed.
Yoel and Mari, I’ve been to the Grand Canyon 6 times, hiked all the way to the bottom, camped, hiked back out, been on both the north and south rims, etc. and STILL it is not enough time. I’ve told people throughout my life that if they go it can’t be a day trip. You have to give yourself days and days and still you’ll want more. Congratulations on your unforgettable journey to see the grandest canyon in the world!
its so overwhelming. You simply just cant get over it. I had my mouth wide open for 10 mins straight. Love you guys.

@@YoelAndMari Love y'all too! Safe journeys, my friends! 🥰
Every time I see your videos from the Grand Canyon to my Island of Puerto Rico you make me feel happy, proud, lucky and then I tear up because I recognize how lucky I am to live in the greatest country on this planet. Thank you!
Tan profundo.
We love sharing our beautiful country with visitors like you! God bless you all real good!
I saw the canyon as a little girl in the late 1960s. I still remember the feeling of awe and being shorter than the railing.
Me too, in the early 60s!! Before there were crowds. And Bryce, Zion, Yosemite, Mammoth Springs and Old Faithful. Every year we’d go somewhere else. Philadelphia. Washington D.C. for the memorials, the Declaration of Independence, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Amish in Pennsylvania and the Hershey factory. The Great Lakes and Quebec. Ellis Island, where my father came through as a child with his mother in the 1920s to escape the pogroms. In NYC, the Empire State Building and Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim (I wonder if she could get tickets for them to see “Hamilton” on Broadway, there would be a long wait but worth it to see the show, they’ve already been to Katz’ Deli). Yoel might have fun at New Mexico’s Hot Air Balloon Fiesta held every October, it’s the most photographed event in the world.
It’s been suggested by one statesman that if immigrants would be required to visit several landmarks every year, whether natural or patriotic, they’d better understand this culture, and just how vast and varied the country is, just like these two “kids” are doing, and it would make assimilation easier.
I’m so glad you two are here. Welcome, Yoel!
No video can give this justice. I wasn't all that caring about seeing the Grand Canyon when I set out to see it. When I drove up through the tree area and over the hill and saw it, man, that hit hard. I said "oh wow". I was in total awe as to how big and magnificent it is. I tell everyone (like I was told) to see it while they can. It doesn't disappoint. I was a skeptic that got sucker punched by it.
I'm so glad you guys got to witness something that us Americans take for granted and that most Cubans will never get a chance to experience. I pray for one day all will be free.
The view and your reactions gave me goose bumps! America the beautiful!
WOW!!!! y'all made me cry! I'm 66 years old and have never seen the grand canyon. I'm glad i got to see it from y'all's eyes!!!
It is beautiful. It changes every day, every season, every morning and night. The views are just amazing. And when I sit and look out in places like that I just feel insignificant. It was created before human existence and will be there when we are all gone. We are only a speck in time.
So well said Patti, so well said‼️ ❤️fromOregon🇺🇸
Would loved to see you guys take the mules down to the floor of the canyon. ❤❤❤❤❤
We will definitely do that next time. I really want to go to the Tribe that is down there and we didnt win the lotto tickets. So i'm going to wait till spring to see if we can score them! We will DEFINITELY document that too.
Yoel, your progress with the English language is amazing. I'm very proud of you. You deserve these blessings.
🥹 thank you for sharing your extraordinary journey with us. I for one am very grateful and in awe to see through your eyes the wonders and excitement you feel. Much love and peace 🕊️.
It's one of the places you have to see in person. Nothing else can capture it's beauty
First, welcome to America. I live in California and have visited the Grand Canyon many times. There simply is nothing else like it on earth in terms of size and scale and awe-inspiring beauty. No camera can capture the awe and majesty of the Grand Canyon. When you view it live, the human mind is challenged by the scope and scale of what it is seeing and trying to interpret. But that feeling is not bad, it is emotionally moving. For me, even seeing your videos and hearing your reactions invokes those feelings in me again. I won't lie, tears welled up in my eyes seeing you good folks seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time.
Your reactions say it all. God Bless America and God Bless you for your love for this land we call home!!
Thank you Yoel & Mari, sharing this spectacular wonder and how it touched you, made my day! Tears for your appreciation of this still Great Nation!
Thank you so much for watching!
Cubans are so appreciative it's nice
Seeing the Grand Canyon takes us all to the basis and foundation of our existence here on Earth. No houses, stores, highways or other signs of our efforts at construction. Just this majestic and awe-inspiring Earth
Thanks!
Wow stacia, thank you so so much!!!
I love you guys! So happy that you really appreciate this country...Your country! So many people who live here don't appreciate what we have.
No matter how many photos you've seen nothing prepares you for seeing it in person. I first went on my 23rd birthday. Thank you for your beautiful video.
I was at the Grand Canyon in 2005 with daughter and husband. It is absolutely amazing. She and her husband have hiked it many times over the years.
Thank you for bringing all your human experiences to our country and making it an even better place. When I say 'our', my meaning is it is your home, too.
Absolutely beautiful….not just the Grand Canyon but both of your reactions and appreciation….❤
I remember thinking when y'all got your first view, 'wait til they see it with the sun shining!'...I got a huge smile when I realized you had indeed stayed around to get views of the sunrise and sunset!
I had a similar reaction the first time I saw the GC with my own eyes. Such an unbelievably beautiful sight to behold. Teared right up.
You guys are making me emotional. I took my parents there a few years ago, and they had the same reaction. We immigrated here (Hawaii to be exact) from the Philippines. I'm glad that they got to see one of the Wonders of the world, because many will never have the opportunity. God bless America, indeed.
Thank you for being you ... your perspective of our (and now your) country has been eye-opening for all of us who live here. God bless America !
Thank you for sharing and yes, God bless America.
U guys, y'all actually made me cry! lol Thank you for reminding those of us who were born here that we should appreciate our country more. We're so fortunate to be Americans & to live in this great country. Thank you for sharing the scenery. It truly was breathtakingly beautiful!
The Grand Canyon is an experience. No words, photo,or video can do it justice. Loved your video, and thank you for bringing us along to share your journeys.
Mari, I had the same tearful reaction when my husband and I first saw the Canyon. Yoel, I love watching your face as you take in all the majestic beauty that is the GC! Much love and safe travels to you both❤️
You folks said it perfectly. Having seen endless photos and videos all throughout my life, even in the age of high definition, seeing the Grand Canyon in person with my own eyes...majestic, overwhelming, breathtaking...the struggle to find words to adequately describe the experience is endless, perhaps impossible. Killer sunset!
I live on the east coast and my family was very fortunate to be able to spend three weeks driving to the west coast and circling back home. We saw so much beauty in our beautiful country but I believe there is nothing in this world that could come close to that magnificent work of natural art that we call the Grand Canyon. Only God could be the artist to something that magnificent. There are no words that can describe it. If you have never seen it in person put that on the top of your bucket list!!
Makes you appreciate life. I'll never forget the first time I saw it and how fortunate I was to have parents that took me to see it.
Your videos just keep getting better and better…and better. I love that you started and did the best you could starting out, you kept going and persevered when it got tough, and probably still is tough, and now you are on an incredible trajectory.
Can you feel it? Can you see it? Your channel and your influence is growing. Don’t stop now!!! Keep going with the message that this country needs to hear: we are a good country with unparalleled opportunity for those willing to work for it and take some risks. America is worth fighting for and you two are proof of that. God bless you and JUST KEEP GOING!!! ❤
Yep, as beautiful and amazing as it is in pictures and video when you see it in person you've truly seen it for the first time.
I’m so happy to see you both love this country as much as I do. We’re glad you’re here.
Yoel, even Americans haven't seen that .. like me! It's a bucket list item. Maybe one day, hopefully soon. So happy for y'all to experience that wonder. ✝️💓
