Hi to anyone here!!! Great post, even if in a low quality, but marvellous music and great Steve Lacy composition. Avenel and Potts undoubtedly not so sure about the drummer. The piece is Prospectus one of the masterpiece of the Hat Hut vinyl record of the same name unbelievably not included by the same label in the CD reissue. The track in based on a poem of Cendras and sang by Irene Aeby. Anyway here is a very strong version a lot better than that on Live At Sweet Basil (1992). SEE YOU LYM
the sound that happens when you amp a century old fine upright bass through modern amps. You get so much amp sound that you think you have alien fingers, JJ Avernel of course could also open a bank vault with his bare hands ....and that is a good good thing.
Sounds to me the idea of this tune is use only diatonic tones of one key, and nothing else, not even any neighbor tones or other accidentals -- it should sound boring, but it sounds totally free, because they're incredible players.

Jane Ira Bloom has a similar sound and style even though she voices frequently with an electric soprano saxophone.
Great sound

La disparition de Steve Lacy a été une perte irréparable :(
FYI that's an alto, not a tenor.
Anyone else notice that the Tenor is playing high and the Soprano low?
Could you put the names of the musicians in the video description please ?
Great post, thank you !
@sergiolamalice9 looks like Sangoma Everett on drums, it is not John Betsch
