I've had my AT Pro for two months and during my research before buying it I watched your videos, and I have been using this setup for the AT Pro since day 1 and it works great for me, I really feel like following this advice gave me a leg up on the learning curve and helped me quickly be able to get into enjoying the hunt. I do use a dog lease with ducks on it though :D
Fantastic! So simple!!! I was detecting the other day and having to put the detector down on slightly wet and uneven ground and trying not to let it fall over and get filthy. Not to mention how sore my back was getting. It was really getting to me! So inconvenient and a hassle trying to put it in a good spot where I could easily reach it again! I searched on ebay for a detector harness and found one for $22.95 Aussie dollars. I never thought of such a simple solution to the problem... Thankyou Aquachigger! Your a Legend...
Your the best! These videos have all the information I've been thinking about as I'm about to start detecting soon very soon! And this video like alot the other ones is gonna help me so dang much! I'm on a binge and can't stop watching lol
This is GOLD.... Well considering he posted a video today from Detectival 2017. Actually a few hammered coins later...... I'm off to watch the "Keeping deer out of your toilet....or garden" Go Beau GO....
Very good advice....I have rods and screws in my lower back, and I can see where this set up will preclude me from constantly setting down and picking up my machine. Thanks, Beau!
+Beau Ouimette what happened to your back? what kind of surgeries? I've had a double discectomy and a double fusion, and it inspires me to see how active you are!
Cladi8or mentioned having to modify your configuration due to the leash not fitting over the control box. Not sure he tried simply slipping it on via the arm-cuff, but that works fine. No mode necessary. Beau, do you use the same strap config when land-hunting with your AT Gold (saw your water version which serves a different purpose)?
I order a new Teknetics Patriot and it will arrive tomorrow and I'm definitely going to be doing this to my detector. Thank you so much for making this video. HH
I think this was the very first video I ever saw of you. I still haven’t made my strap yet. I will , as soon as I find a decent dog leash, in the appropriate size.
Great advice for bad backs or to prevent one. I've also seen people suggesting "floats" when detecting in the water. Doesn't that make them more difficult to use, especially under water? Just asking.
One last Q. Is there a reason you don't use your (fantastic and simple) dog leash sling for the AT series? It would seem to me that this would work better on both land and water as opposed to the tether/carabiner if you're not into bending down all the time and grabbing the handle along with a fist full of tangled cord. I haven't tried the tether/carabiner, but am certainly willing to if it's a better system for the AT machine.
That's a great tip for a harness. I wouldn't have even considered using a dog leash, so it's much appreciated as a tip. Looking forward to seeing your tip for the AT Pro. GL & HH :D
Sorry (and I never shoud've said one last question...). please allow me to try again. If you were only using the AT on land, would there be any reason to still favor the tether over the sling?
I'm a beginner and purchased a detector through Big5 , I bought the Bounty Hunter. I always find coins and other unique items. My concern is, did I buy a crappy detector. Often enough I get a good sound then it goes away or the sound stays up until Five minutes in the dig then it stops again. I think I'm loosing a lot of neat things . What reliability should I expect from this particular detector, 15% or better. Please let me know if I'm just wasting my time and I need to invest in a better unit. Thanks
Hi Beau, I just found my first ring and it looked very familiar to all the videos I've seen when people find rings. That was cool. I purchased the Garrett At pro and expect its arrival any day now. I must have seen all the you tube videos out there using the At gold and was not completely sure what the big differences were. I think the only one difference that stood out was the range of levels you can o up to on iron discrimination. What other differences do they have the Pro and the Gold. Thanks for your info, good luck
Beau, I bought the gold, not the pro i gave you the wrong info What do you mean more program options. I was under the impression the gold had more. Can you elaborate. Thanks Pete
Thanks Beau, I've just rigged up my AT PRO the same way. I like how it seems to work for you. I hate putting the detector down in the dirt. Thanks for the great tip. And check out our channel if you get the time Mate! Thanks, Kev.
This is why its great to have a veteran digger around! Ideas like this one! Thanks for sharing!

Great leash design. Gonna whip one up before I go out tomorrow!
Great idea - thanks Beau! I'll be adding one to all my detectors.

Great idea, will def try that, this is an old vid Aquachigger!
great tip,love that spade 👍
I think this was the very first video I ever saw of you. I still haven’t made my strap yet. I will , as soon as I find a decent dog leash, in the appropriate size.
Better for warmer weather and beaches too.
Good info 👍👍 👍👍
You can get one of those pads they use on shoulder seat belts,so they don't dig into your neck.
great vid! can you get adjustable size dog leads?
Great idea
thanks bro gonna try it

It's not a problem that it sinks, most water machines do, it's just different from the AT series.
Zip ties might be easier to use than tape and you could add a short piece of pipe insulation to protect your neck from the strap.
I like it, doing that today, thanks
great idea
Thank you for the tip !
Thanks for the tip. I have an extra weed eater strap that would work perfectly.

Great idea. Will keep that in mind when I get a detector someday

Brilliant!!!!!
DUDE! GREAT IDEA
Does it flop over with the strap underneath like that (and does it matter if it does)?
Merci..... super conseil. very good
Good Idea

It's good idea. I've just did it.
Great tip. Also for in the water. HH Mstv
Simce the coil and stem are waterproof, but not the brain box, this would keep my box dry when river hunting.
you could use a cable tie instead of the tape
одно-точечный ремень подвес оружия. удобно. работает.
Gotcha. Makes perfect sense. if you were a land hunter only, afraid of snakes turtles and would you still favor the tether over the sling? leeches,
good tip, nice vid regards scorpio hh nt
