Thank you so much Nola. Your clear and easy to follow instructions showed me exactly where to cut the flight feathers of my chooks. It was so easy, I clipped the feathers of my whole flock. Now the next door garden is safe from damage. Thank you, thank you. Fran
Only one side. 3 feet is a fairly easy jump without even using their wings. I’d imagine they would get over that fairly easy. The best advice I can give is don’t give them a reason to jump the fence. Keep plenty of food, water, and browse inside their fenced area. Include toys to keep them entertained as well. Things to peck at, swings, perches, obstacle courses etc. Our yard has everything a chicken could want but there is an adventurous one that just flew the 6.5 foot fence this evening. Luckily the neighbors dog was inside. At any rate, they are all getting wings clipped tomorrow night. Nighttime is the best time to do it. Take them off the perch so they are nice and relaxed during the clipping.
@@Planetgreen2.0 sheesh, I’m sorry! I just noticed your initial post was 2 years ago! I thought it was a 5 day old post. 🤦♂️ Anyway, I hope all went well if you did do some clipping.

Awesome now I can clip my girls.
My girl Peaches loves to go exploring.
Should I cut one side or both sides? will it prevent from jumping above 3 feet height ?
One side only
