This reminds me of when my mom pruned back the rose bushes so much that I thought she had destroyed them. I got so mad at her. But when more roses showed up a few months later, much to my surprise, I was so relieved and forgave her. Thanks for your video!
Thank you, this was very helpful!

How deep should we dig for a almond sapling to set ?
Awesome now I can clip my girls. My girl Peaches loves to go exploring.
Wonderful video. Thank you!
Nice. I am trying to regrow store radishes for the leaves.. :)
Should I cut one side or both sides? will it prevent from jumping above 3 feet height ?
One side only
@@SilencedByRUclips thank you so much..
Only one side. 3 feet is a fairly easy jump without even using their wings. I’d imagine they would get over that fairly easy. The best advice I can give is don’t give them a reason to jump the fence. Keep plenty of food, water, and browse inside their fenced area. Include toys to keep them entertained as well. Things to peck at, swings, perches, obstacle courses etc. Our yard has everything a chicken could want but there is an adventurous one that just flew the 6.5 foot fence this evening. Luckily the neighbors dog was inside. At any rate, they are all getting wings clipped tomorrow night. Nighttime is the best time to do it. Take them off the perch so they are nice and relaxed during the clipping.
@@CFarnwide Thank You
@@Planetgreen2.0 sheesh, I’m sorry! I just noticed your initial post was 2 years ago! I thought it was a 5 day old post. 🤦♂️ Anyway, I hope all went well if you did do some clipping.

Hi I have an almond tree I grew from seed, it's now 1 year old and is 5 foot tall and has 3 side branches evenly spaced round the main trunk at about 2 feet from the ground, the main trunk is very thin (about 5mm dia) should I prune some of the height off? You vid was really informative, thank you.
Thanks :D

What is the name of the Copper Powder?
Copper sulphate or just Copper Mixture.
copper name on can ps dont buy pre mix it mostly water get the oncentrate it cost more but its not water mix the con . 2 big spoons per gal water it works i always spray in the winter when the leafs are gone the fungus lives in the bark not the leaves so dont waste spay on leaves during summer and fall try to spray 2 times at 2 week interval
Thanks Nola. It helps me so much. I have not idea how to do it by first time in 25 old almonds and you taught me well. Salutes from Spain.
Thanks for the great info. Just what I needed after failing miserably with my first tray of tomato seedlings.
wonderful
Thanks for the video! Looks like I'll have to nurse my tree through this summer... It's all over!

you need to spray in the winter to kill the fungus its in the bark dont spray with leaves on the tree
Hi there! I've watched both your videos, (How to clip your chickens wings & Finding the Hidden Nest) as I have one young chicken, about 8 months old, who is continually flying over the fence and into our garden; causing mischief! I've clipped her wings already to the lowest level. (Unfortunately, I clipped both sides though so hopefully the other side will grow quickly.) My question is what else can I do to contain her? Their nest is clean, with new straw and the fence is about 5 ft high. They have access to their food and water and we also spoil them with Oatmeal or chicken scratch. Do I just need to wait till she's older and perhaps too fat to fly over? The other 'babies' are great - it's just this naughty one!! :) Please help!
Excellent upload. Do you use a sealant after pruning. Thanks a lot
how soon after putting blood and bone in the garden can you plant new crops?
very informative and helpful.
Hi Colleen Thanks for your comments. Its lovely to get feed back made me feel very special. Many thanks Nola
CURE FOR LEAF CURL. I had a severe case of Leaf Curl on my two Peach trees. I tried spraying the leaves several times a year, watching for the beginning of the problem, then one day, quite by accident, I found a 100% cure for the problem. I had some larger trees cut down in my yard and instead of having the wood chip mulch hauled away, I had the tree trimmers leave the wood chip mulch mixture on the side of my yard. In order to assist the trees in keeping the moisture in the ground, I spread about two or three inches of chopped up wood chips and within a couple of weeks, the leaves that had the bad curling on them dropped off and new leaves began forming without any curling problem at all Now every spring, I rake and hoe the mulch mixture under the trees and add as much as I want to. Still, three years later, no leaf curl and my peaches love the moist compost soil under the tree.
+Ted Koning wow please share your video :)
I got the same incident. My trees got leaf curls, don’t know how to deal with it yet. One day i get a truck of wood chips, loaded down near the peach trees. What i notices is the leafs got effected was healed. So i think it may have got some things to do with the wood chips. But don’t know next year my trees have the disease or not ,will see .
Hands down the best video on pruning I've seen! Thank you for making and uploading it!
I'm fixing to plant an all in one almond.I live in southern Louisiana,do you have any advice or tips for my area? It's my first almond tree. Thanks!!
This is the best video I have seen on pruning, very informative! You highlight all the pruning areas like beauty, fruiting, tree health ,etc.! Subbed!!
Have you any experience of spraying the leaves with a mix of bleach one tenth with water. I've read several reports of it stopping more leaf curl even after it has set in on leaves but I can't find definite confirmation of it or possible side effects.
Thank you so much Nola. Your clear and easy to follow instructions showed me exactly where to cut the flight feathers of my chooks. It was so easy, I clipped the feathers of my whole flock. Now the next door garden is safe from damage. Thank you, thank you. Fran
