I don't eat cornmeal porridge but my children did and I use to make it but as I was never shown how I use to make it up and it use to come out lumpy thick but tasty. My mother has dementia and it's getting worse. I wanted to know the basic way to cook it so that I can make it for my grandbabies. (I have four) I'm British Jamaican so all we use to eat was cereal like cornflakes and weetabix we never want cornmeal porridge. I thank you for this video. I love corneal porridge my mother cooked it when I was a child, unfortunately I cannot cook Jamaican dishes. Left Jamaica as a child and never fussed around the kitchen I preferred playing outdoors. Lots of Caribbean restaurants here and the dishes are amazing!

Learning never stops. I thought I had to put cornmeal in the boiling water slowly. sometimes I figured out a way for it to not clump but other times I just sweetened it enough to not care.
