    Seriously Debbie please, please do an e-book with your recipes! I would buy it! Contact me if you need help self-publishing.
    I didn't grow up in Jamaica but my parents are Jamaicans. My Mother just passed away, she was from Petersfield, Westmoreland. Although I enjoyed eating Jamaican food alot growing up; I just had no interest learning how to cook Jamaican food. Well since my Mother passed my Dad now lives with me. I've tried cooking a few Jamaican dishes for him, and he eats the meals, but I know they are lacking that special flavour. Recently (I guess he couldn't take it anymore! ) he told me to go to RUclips and find out how to cook "Run Down" and Turn Jamaican Cornmeal! I was like... What?!! what? Run Down? Turn what??… I didn't take him seriously. But, then he lost weight. I took him to his doctor ( who is also a Jamaican) she told me to start feeding him Jamaican Corn Meal Porridge so he could put on some weight! So, I started searching You Tube and came across your channel. After binge watching several of your videos… I shouted Ah Hah! this is what I've been missing! You REALLY should call your channel The SECRETS of COOKING AUTHENTIC JAMAICAN food. This Porridge video alone is like the GOLD STANDARD of Jamaican Porridge recipes!!! I've looked at tons of other Jamaican Cornmeal porridge videos and yours was the only one that did the "seasoned water"! The flavor and the texture of that porridge was simply AWESOME! Thanks so much for your passion and sincerity and taking the time to share yourself with us. God Bless!

    I like using the course cornmeal too. This is what my pops used when I was growing up. My pops was born in Jamaica in the 1920s but I have never visited. Wish I had have gone with him when he went back there in 2009, but I'm afraid of flying. I remember when I was growing up, when I came home from school with my friends. When we walked in the kitchen there was pops with a goat's head burning the hair off it on the cooker. I was so embarrassed… Now I wish I could see him doing that again. I lost him a couple years ago. Miss him bad.

    I make this this morning! It was truly delicious. After countless tries on my own I would have to throw the whole darn pot out! But with your technique it finally came out right! Thank you Debbie! I don’t have to buy it from the Jamaican restaurant anymore and my husband really enjoyed! Your are truly a treasure!

    Hi Ms Debbie,
    I'm actually thinking about allowing myself to fall in love with cooking again. I lost that loving feeling when my family fell apart But, you are stirring something in my soul.
    I just happened onto your channel a few days ago and I made your cornmeal porrage today; it was delicious.
    I do have a couple of questions;
    Is your oven temperature measured on the Celsius or Fahrenheit scale? I'm assuming Celsius.
    I don't think I can find cinnamon leaves or the mace from the nutmeg ; would you tell me how much ground cinnamon and mace I should use?
    Also, is the brown sugar that you use turbanado sugar?
    Thank you for all that you're giving us.
    May the Lord cause His face to shine on you and your family 🙏

    My grandmother put cold water and cornmeal together to boil to prevent it from.clumping. But using the cinnamon leaves and mace I don't think u can do that? Or can u remove the leaves and strain the mace. Or boil the flavor of the leaves and mace let it cool then add the cornmeal and boil?
