Come on now, dont be so hard on the guy...gel coat and water is very slippery and he new he messed up but recovered himself just fine without even littering the bottle he was holding...was able to pull himself up and signal to the other boat that hes ok other than his pride:)...he will never walk the gunnel while under way again i bet...lol

Notice how many Boston whalers there are... I think about 9 of my friends had one when they turned 16 growing up in this area. It's a very popular boat around here.

Haul over inlet in Miami is great to watch but, Pt. Pleasant is really great to watch.
When the tide is ripping through there it makes haulover look easy and if your old enough 35 years ago the old 88 Bridge was a death wish sometimes.
At least they made a swift recovery. The swimmer did not seem to be overly intoxicated. 👍

Why aren’t the police making DUII stops on some of these boaters? There is more than enough probable cause to make the stop and do an investigation. It appears with at least the smaller vessels that passengers are under the influence and probably some captains.
I have seen a pulpit rail give way on a cruiser. Dangerous as it was in a lock on the English waterways. It was also winter, so danger of very fast hypothermia. I would never rely on one.
Likewise, at least with screwed-down rails. I've been saved from being knocked overboard a couple times by catching my full weight on one of those rails; I don't view their strength as an optional feature - through-bolted only.
The Canal is FIRING.

Point Pleasant Canal is always rough in my experience, I literally have never seen it calm. And who the heck passes another boat in that thread? Slow it down & line up behind, you'll get where you're going soon enough.
