    Nice basic explanation for a start, extra items are pressure relief valves, water softeners, bypass valves, other storage tanks, brown water, filters etc. but nicely explained.

    Also by the faucet there is a pressure relief valve in case the pump sticks on or there is fire near the tank, etc.

    This is very interesting stuff on how a well water system works, from under ground to home or business. It would also be very interesting to see a video like this on how a city water system works, from city water plant to home or business.

    How do I adjust my pressure. Please help

    Not all pressure tanks are inside the house. Everything is outside with a line that goes to the house.

    The pressure tank does not “create the pressure in the system.” The pressure tank stores the pressure in the system that is created by the pump.

    Does the pressure tank need to be close to the pressure switch and electrical box?

    • @BigYoshi826
      @BigYoshi826 5 лет назад +2

      Technically no. The clever thing about the pressure tanks is that they only need one water pipe to flow to them and that's it. No electricity. Water goes both in and out of that single connection, and the tank needs nothing else. Except perhaps air through that inlet at the top.

    Does this system make the water drinkable?

    What about the large storage tank? How does it get and keep filled? Are there any indicators to let me know when my storage tank is getting low?

    • @trouts4444
      @trouts4444 3 года назад +1

      A large and small tank work the same way as explained in the video. When water is turned on the water supply comes from the tank. When the tank pressure gets low the pump turns on and refills the tank with water under pressure. While that is happening and the well pump running the water is being sourced by the well pump. Notice the fitting near the tank. It goes to the house and tank. There is no level for water. The level for pressure is indicated by the pressure gauge which most systems have. The tank pressure and water in the tank vary all day as water is used and the water pump refills the tank with water and pressure. The water tank only holds about 5 - 50 gallons depending on the tank. You can tell when the water level is low because the pressure is low and the water pump turns on. If the pump is a shallow well pump then you won't hear it. Many pumps are inside the house and can be heard going on when enough water is used. You generally don't care about or monitor the water level. The level is taken care of by the pump and pressure gauge.

    I believe you are missing a check valve to stop the water from returning to the well when the pump isn't running.

    After 30 years I took the cap off of my well to look inside. In addtion to the two electrical wires going down to the pump there is a "rod" of some sort of unknown length held by a short rope also inside the casing. It seems to be attached to something below. Anybody have an idea of what its purpose is? It isn't shown in any photo, diagram, or video I have come across. Guess I should be asking an old private well driller. But what if they are puzzled also?

    How fast is the submersive pump supposed to push water into the pressure tank? Ours goes slowly, and it's making my dad impatient, he wants to cut up the pipes to see if there is water flowing.

      He should install a pressure gauge to the pressure tanks connections.

    My water system was contaminated from dormancy, negligence, and greed. it’s been a year and I still cant find help it’s upended our lives, my children are suffering because nobody believes me and I can’t work. I have proof. I have stuff nobody has ever seen I believe. I ask everybody not one person can identify anything I have. Not even 35 doctors. Watch my videos. Landlord had a well that we ran off of. Little did I know the landlord had a secondary line piggybacked off of a rural water meter which runs under a large water shed area. The line is no less than 600ft in length center of line is 20ft lower then either end. He is a large dog breeder so that run off from his facility is leaching into the run off. When it snowed last year. Without notice or flushing the line he shut the well off, turned the meter on flushing biofilm and a host of other organisms into our home. The line is at the opposite end of the house with a shut off valve as well. I had no clue this line existed. After two months, I figured out the water was the cause of my family’s health issues. I was 15 days from signing my 4 year lease. When I mentioned that I believed his water was effecting my children and myself he evicted me said I caused it. He had his well company come out and pull samples. I even filmed it. He said results are in the mail it’s just a little bacteria nothing to hurt me. After a month I never received the results. They never turned the samples in because i filmed the nasty ass water coming out of the faucet and showed them. They said that’s bad. Yeah why didn’t they submit the results. That has to be illegal. It’s not right. Good thing I documented everything. Even then after a year my condition is getting worse and doctors blow me off as delusional. My kids are Afraid to ask for help, their health and safety has been ignored and their childhood will be nothing but horrible memories. Everybody has all these answers do this and that. I’ve done it all. Nobody gives a shit. Don’t leave a line off for years and drink it for months. I found his dogs have parasites as well. When that line is turned on it’s getting into his system. Blows me away people can do that to children and shrug it off. Disgusting
