Never such a direct bass sound made a thrash record badass. I think Demmel/Flynn guitar tones on that record are equal to Scott Ian rhythm tone on Spreading The Disease. Eternal Nightmare is such a well raw produced recorded for a debut album. It's also the same producer for 80s Satriani records.

Sean Killiian had a very original sounding voice like no other. I remember hearing this in 88 or 89 and always remembered how distinctive the vocals were. Great record front to back.

Hey Vio Lence Remember the Speedway Cafe Salt Lake City. We tore that shit up. Sean thanks for letting me up there to sing a little bit of TDS thnx God speed
Sean was a major influence on the way I deliver my own vocals. Not in his style, I'm more of a screecher in the vein of Hat from Gorgoroth, but the frantic delivery that would make most people gasp for air after spitting all those words out.
Riff upon riff upon riff. There is no let up. This has so much weight, it is amazing, one of the best thrash tracks

Vio-Lence - The band that offers the most metal per second for each song.
Absolutely, this motherfuckers never stop

For those speaking of the singer in this.. He had his own style and a unique one in thrash metal...with clear influences from hardcore punk

Very cleverly pieced together with killer twin guitar riffs.

Lyrics: \m/
Eternal Nightmare
Reality slipping and your mind is caving in
Submitting to the web that you constantly spin
It’s over the edge with the straightjacket on
It’s dragging you down to the world you belong
The hell in your mind that you will always see
A nightmare of terror, planted eternally
Dead space in your head, there can be no escape
Reality you see, an image, just a fake
Insomnia drives, drives you out of your head
Don’t lose consciousness while lying in bed
Looking in from the outside and tightening your grip
Death sickening laughter that’s beginning to rip
Your eyelids fall and they take you again
Eternal nightmare and your horror begins
Your head is filled with nothing but fear
It has you locked down, comatose is here
I’ve drank the blood that dead souls have cried
I cursed the devil then watched him die
I’m the one that the sinners seek
Well I’m your master, now don’t you see
I’ve drank the blood that dead souls have cried
I cursed the devil then watched him die
I’m the one that the sinners seek
Well I’m your master, now don’t you see
Now to you I come, a calling
Reaching for your mind I’m drawing
Thoughts of freedom, see them crawling
Eternal nightmare, I’m clawing
So next time that you fall asleep
And let your thought start running deep
Remember you’re the ones I choose
Eternal nightmare, I never lose
Calling
You come a calling
My laughter’s mauling
Eternally I rule your mind
Constricting
Your thoughts constricting
Your mind is sickening
And they’re the ones I loved to feed on the most of all!

Sean Killian is a weird vocalist... at first i hated his vocals, then it grew on me i started to like it, now i absolutely love it.
same with Bobby Blitz from Overkill!
