I think one of the biggest issues with developing for android is that there is a huge range in hardware specs from one device to another. Something Apple doesn’t have to worry about.
Thanks brad for the comparison. I have decided to buy the S6 lite. Yes. You are right. There may not be enough good software for the android. But the tablet is very good for less price. That's a game changer, mostly bevsue Procreate is the only app I've been missing from iOS. I'm trying the beta version of Krita which is wonderful and much better than all other apps out there, including Procreate. Hopefully we will have the offcial release soon.
@@davsdf1 Yeeeah, right now Krita works perfect with keyboard honestly, they should adapt it a bit more for touch screen. But even now, damn, its like a desktop Photoshop on android :D
Just bought the S6 Lite for myself and I love it. I'm not a digital artist but it is very fun to draw on. It makes me want to learn to draw. Personally I love the form factor because I mostly hold my tablet in portrait mode anyway. My wife has the 7th gen iPad and it's a great tablet. The screen is nice. It runs smooth. I'm just too deep into the Android ecosystem so the S6 Lite perfectly fits my needs.
Looking at you comment, it's been one year, can you review it? And compared to ipad 7, which one would you reccomend? I don't really mind the ecosystem btw
I love my tab s6, but when I saw the lite version I really wanted the S-pen that came with it. But now I've had my baby for almost a year with no complications at all and I want to upgrade to an iPad. All because of procreate it has all the shortcuts and things I want for cutting down my time on art. I also know clip studio came to the Galaxy store but I don't want a dumbed down computer program for my tablet that I gatta pay a lot for, plus the canvass is small with all the extra stuff on the screen. Procreate is just a perfect version of infinite painter. I can't wait to get my iPad 12.9 saving money is the key to get what you want outta life.
Yeah same. I have an iphone 6s plus and I can no longer even use it because most apps on the appstore require ios15 which I can't get due to not getting updates anymore
@@prakhart92 I don't need to take notes, so im not worried about that feature. I can watch RUclips however. As for calling and texting, no I can't. I didnt have the money for a SIM card so I used Google voice to call. And I wasn't able to download it because it required ios14 or something. If I were to use an older iPhone like my 6s plus, it would have to be strictly used for calls and emergencies. I'm a kid, I wanna be able to download my favorite games or watch Netflix on my phone. But it doesn't matter anymore cause I got a different phone now.
@@axelkane3459 how much customization do you want. I think my iPad and iPhone has more than enough customization. RUclipsrs don’t talk about the customization apple has
I think it doesn't matter because RAM amount is optimized for the specific device. 3GB on iPad is the same like 4GB on Samsung. However I couldn't get over 32GB storage (actually like 25 GB usable). You can put in 1000 GB memory card in the Samsung...
Highly recommend the tab s6 lite. If you like me, can't fork out extra cash for iPad. Tab s6 lite is not too bad. Being drawing almost everyday with my tab s6 lite. It is very fun to use.
I recently purchased the Galaxy Tab S6 and I love it. The display has great colors as with all Samsung screens. The battery is also great so far. The one thing though that the iPad pro has for me is the higher refresh rate screen. Not a deal breaker but really love that with the bigger screen. I also really think that the S pen has a lot more going for it AND they include it in the package unlike Apple.
@It fits the aesthetic who really cares entirely that much for a tablet if it receives "updates" for 2 years vs 5 years? Android developers support applications for the OS all the way back to like Lollipop still. If you have a tablet running Android 10 like the tab S6 then you are good to go for application support for years to come.
@@Ankitkumar-wf3qb it's a great productivity tablet, I wish there were better software keyboard options. The Samsung keyboard though works very efficiently while in landscape. I don't have the keyboard case that you can buy, but it works flawlessly. Everyone talks about the iPad, but really Android works just fine in tablet form and arguably better for certain things.
I don't why, but your video became way more interesting to me when I set in twice the speed reproduction. Weird, isn't it? About the content, I'm definitely going for the Tab S6 Lite as my beginner non-professional tablet.
I like both of the tablet most but on iPad display without lamination is a big deal breaker for me. When i use it outside, well not right now, I need to put ipad with high high brightness which make ipad really hot and not comfortable.
I know in comparison videos u can see the lighting on s6 lite is better but i am scared that the s6 will die on me after 3 years whereas ipad will last longer because of more powerful processor
I bought the Ipad (2018) almost 2 years ago and bought Procreate few months ago but.. I still cant buy the Apple Pencil or the apple pencil alternatives cuz they’re all very expensive 🙄🥺
I was nearly convinced of buying the S6 Lite but then i noticed a problem that made the Tablet unusable for my purposes so far: Orientationdata of the S-pen seems to be flipped and Offset by 90 degrees. That means if you use tilt sensitive brushes that simulate realistic pencil behaviour (like the Proko-Pencil in Infinite Painter) you would need to move them back and forth instead of left and right to shade. Thats really awkward. I checked two devices (here in germany) and its exactly the same. Using the app stylusis and inspecting the raw data confirmed this miscalculation. I would be really interested in seeing this behaviour exposed in the internet to make samsung notice the problem which should be really easy to be bugfixed. Otherwise be aware that this might be a problem for some of you that enjoy using these kind of brushes. Maybe brad could investigate on that?
I'm a devout Android fanatic, but procreate alone is simply enough to keep me on iPads for my art. As you've pointed out in a previous video, procreate is built from the ground up for a touch/pencil environment. The seemless transition from pencil to gesture input and the quality of life features using pencil gestures (something I haven't seen any other apps do) make procreate bliss to use. I even want to use it over full desktop apps... They may be more feature rich, but they don't embrace the future of digital art like procreate does I still really dislike apple overall, but the fact remains that it has the best combination of hardware and software for a mobile digital art device
This is interesting, I was actually looking for a tablet that compares to the 7th gen iPad. As I was thinking of purchasing the iPad in the future. So this kind of helped me out with regards to my decision. Although seeing as the Samsung S6 Lite seem to be close in competition, now I have to weigh in which one I think is best for me to buy.
I'm watching this on my S6 Lite and this is one of the videos that convinced me to get it. I've had it for almost a year now and I still love it! I actually don't use my laptop as much these days. I think I boot up my laptop like once or twice a week to do some design work I need a mouse for but if I get a Bluetooth mouse, I probably wouldn't at all. Btw, I have a ton of apps and it never lags. I still have like 50gb left on my storage. My only complaint would be the camera but it's not a deal breaker for me. The mic is great too! Thanks Brad!
Thank you for this review. I was worried about whether or not the Galaxy Tab S 6 lite would be a good for drawing, especially because I'm just about to start learning digital art.
If we are talking literally only note taking, and annotating pdf's for college, is the tab s6 lite better? I'm sick of like 8 spiral notebooks at once.
*the deal breaker for me is the layer limit in procreate* although I think the drawing experience on the ipad will be a bit better but android have more flexibility
Do you feel any lags in some apps? I'm think to buy for read books and take notes. Netflix, RUclips.... The image is good? Don't need to be woow like a super amoled, bua is it ok?

Wanted to say thanks for your reviews , i was able to safe a lot of money by getting the s6 lite instead of a lenovo laptop. Now i am using this with one of the recommended apps in one of your videos and ill be honest, i love it. Using artflow and for my 1st time using a drawing tablet its so easy, epecially compared with my few times i tried to use a digitizer. I was sceptical of how limited i might have been with an android app, but oh boy i was so wrong, the app is awesome, it has a lot of thinks to do and once you get used to it you are totally fine, i even bought the extra features for 5 euros and no regrets, heck not long ago it was 2 euros during discount.
I like the way he talked about people liking the apple "ecosystem" more than the samsung, and that's why they stick with apple. I remember I used to use all things apple because I thought I didn't like the way samsung worked, but I actually like samsung a lot more. You just have to get used to the different feel of the software. But I DO wish that companies would add their apps to samsung as well as apple.
i thought that was a nice balanced review. The whole apple vs android thing has got a lot closer in recent years with features getting copied from one to the other so it really does come down to being able to run software you want to do tasks you actually want to do. Unless you are using it for social media and buying stuff you don’t need on the internet in which case it really doesnt matter which one you get.
Brad is great. Very entertaining way of representing things. I wish I could hang out with you. Would be a lot of fun. Also thx, the comparisons are the best on the web
I don't use my tablet for drawing BUT you kinda make me want to! LOL. I came here to decide between ipad vs galaxy but for me it's galaxy based on your review of the screen and resolution!. Those are most important to me. Thank you!
I just wanted to say thanks for this, after watching your videos, i decided to buy the tab s6 lite. What size of the paperlike did you buy to cut and fit on the tab????? that would be helpfull. Thanks again
The iPad is great for creators and if you can survive without pressure sensitivity then get the Logitech crayon. I picked one up for $40 and have been using and loving it to do both school work and art
7:24 After about 3.5 hours of drawing, my tiny baby hands get tired of holding the weighted end of the Apple pencil, so for me this actually sounds like a selling point (I tend to put my fingers close to the point)
What you say sounds like a logical and valid point that isn't discussed well enough; because the way each user holds the pen is going to make a significant difference in terms of individual experience with a device. For instance I'm the opposite of yours, holding my pen more form the other end like a brush. Thanks so much for your comment and for bringing this point up for discussion.
İts not that heavy , well my hands are actually big or normal sized and I hold my pencils in a normal way . I think if you hold it in a different way that it will be much lighter and easier to hold ^^
I'm having a very hard time right now deciding whether to get the Tab 6 Lite or the Note 10+. I've wanted a samsung drawing tablet for years, and now they finally made one at a mid-range price that would be perfect for me (I'm not an artist - can basically only draw kindergarten level flowers). I've wanted to get into the digital art thing because I hate to waste paper, and the one time I tried real acrylic paints was embarrassing. I would love this tablet, but I do the majority of my writing from my phone (currently S8+) and I want a new phone. I could do art and my writing on the Note 10+… decisions, decisions.
Another great video. Appreciate your opinion. I know how great the Apple pencil is, but it should come with a big asterisk with the win. Another $100 is an additional 1/4 to the total price or something. It just doesn't seem like a fair fight. $100 should not qualify as an accessory, but a separate hardware. But you do mention all these facts out.
Your videos always motivated me to draw.. I make comics in webtoon but it's not that good.. I've been warded in a hospital and didn't draw anything for 2 weeks.. After i've discharged, I watched your videos again and thank you, my morale is boosted again.. Thank you thank you😊😊😊
After watching these review vids I decided to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 lite but at the same time I'm gonna work and save up for a ipad mini, if I cant choose I'll take both
I using ipad Gen 6 , here is my tough , Apple pencil is really good, its feels like drawing on cintiq except the paralax. the ram it said only 2 GB but its not matter , it run perfectly and when I play game on it its run really great. the draw back is only the ecosystem on ios. before it getting update, its really suck when you using both pc and ipad. right now is has far more better with folder management and I using google drive to move my file between my ipad and pc. the reason I here is I hear the CSP will come to android. so this galaxy tab S6 will add some extra punch. since the apple pencil on my country almost double its price when this corona hit. and the system on android will let us easily move file between the android to PC
Thanks a million for making reviews comparing between Tab A 2019 & Tab S6 Lite, then against the non-Pro version of iPad. I’m considering whether to trade in my Tab A 2019 for the ability to draw on the go. So thanks for reviewing the stylus (& thanks for mentioning it’s works without charging), latency in drawing, hardware specs, they are really what I needed to know. It was a plus point to know you appreciated the iPad apps more, for being an iPhone user myself, I’m not surprised, it gives me the right expectation. Plus, Photoshop for not being a Pro-standard drawing/painting app; thanks for that too, now I know I’m not alone! My chin’s definitely up for ur videos, so yea - Thumbs up! Toes for up you too!
If I was a serious artist, I'd go with the iPad. If I was anyone else or an amateur artist, I'd go with the Tab S6 lite. It'll allow you to do the same artist things just a bit less seamless but it'll provide a better exoerience in everything else. I love S6 lite thin bezels, 16:9 view of movies without huge black bars on top and bottom and using the S-Pen for a ton of things that you can't do with a $100 Apple pencil. And you can still draw with it perfectly. Overall tab s6 lite is a media powerhouse and the ipad is slightly better for drawing.
I feel like when ever my life is falling apart I just come to this channel and watch reviews for stuff I’m not buying. I use an Ipad Air 4th gen and am happy with it but somehow these vids are so relaxing. Thanks Brad 😂
Just ordered this so I'm glad you made a review on it because I was nervous about it's function and ability but it seems to be good so thanks for that. :)
I agree with the conclusion . . . and yet I go out and buy the Samsung. Why? Because I have gotten to know the Samsung, Android, and MS ecosystem on Android tablets and it suits me better. Infinite Painter and Artflow are actually more functionality than I need on a 10" screen. I like popping a 256mb sd card in there and taking all my music and movies. I use Samsung Notes on my phone and those notes are perfectly synced on the tablet. And yeah: Krita just ices it, which I have used for a few years on Windows . . . pretty amazing. Absolutely need the S pen and it comes with. Also, I get two tablets at a time, for one for my artist wife. So just bought 2 S6 Lites delivered with tax for $657 total. That's like $40 more than ONE iPad 128mb and a Pencil. MS now with X Cloud on Android. And here comes the new S7 series (add in Dex and bigger screens) I don't know . . . Is 2021 the year Samsung impresses Brad enough to take the overall win?
I’m Apple user with hard using into the ecosystem between my iphone airpods macbook, Apple tv & apple watch (airdrop, airplay etc) ..I was searching for a budget tablet below 360$ between ipad and android that have pen/pencil ability for college works. I change my perspective and bought the Samsung Tab S6 Lite because wanted to try another os… so far I,ve been using for my study and trust me it worth to take it and really fun 🤩. Not bias but my honest review tho 😊
I bought the ipad and I ran out of space very quickly. It's been about a year since buying my ipad and I've decided to buy the Samsung tablet, I kinda regret not buying it from the start, even with 128gb space and a case the Samsung tablet still works out to be cheaper. I will say the drawing experience on ipad is genuinely good, but the main app that many people like procreate isn't something I use very often.
I know you said this on the video but thw thumbnail reads "329 vs 349". Maybe you should change it. More like 429 vs 349, cause the pen is not included. The S pen is included on the pack. Also, great review. Very informative and to the point. I love it!
I was planning to but ipad because its easy to air drop stuff from my iphone but samsung really out there make me hard to choose because it came with the stylus without paying more and you can add storage more on your own unlike ipad. But i think I’ll just stick with ipad for my drawing and it seems ipad can support more apps that i need than samsung
EDIT: After looking around more, i actually found the S6 lite for 320€ with the S-pen included, exactly 100€ less than the ipad+ apple pencil, so the scale has now swung in Samsung's favor. Also, today i tried all iPads with the Apple pencil, and also the Tab S6 Lite, and i found the s-pen to be much more comfortable when drawing on the tablet screen. So my mind has been made up completely. I wasn't impressed with the Apple Pencil's tilt as well, thought it would be like tilting an actual pencil, was really dissapointed. Samsung it is, after all. And in a year or two down the line, i might get the S7 Plus or whatever top of the line model they will have at that time.
Just discovered your channel. Great video. I am still debating on which one to get. I was a avid iPhone user for years but then switched to Android when the Note 8 came out. I am very much into customization and that is something I found that Apple lacks. I still just don't know yet. 🦊 And I love the artwork. My husband does the same style and I have been trying to encourage him to drawing again.

Samsung S6 lite for £280 or new IPad for £400 inc Apple Pencil 1st gen. S6 is the winner here, right?
0:26 "That's what she said"
I'm sorry I can't help it 😂
I'm a devout Android fanatic, but procreate alone is simply enough to keep me on iPads for my art.
They may be more feature rich, but they don't embrace the future of digital art like procreate does
I still really dislike apple overall, but the fact remains that it has the best combination of hardware and software for a mobile digital art device
would you say that the delay of the pen, when drawing is less on apple, than the s6 lite?
This is interesting, I was actually looking for a tablet that compares to the 7th gen iPad. As I was thinking of purchasing the iPad in the future. So this kind of helped me out with regards to my decision. Although seeing as the Samsung S6 Lite seem to be close in competition, now I have to weigh in which one I think is best for me to buy.

Maybe you need to give your hands a rest! You make the Apple Pencil sound heavy and it really isn't.

I love how unbiased this video is.
I love it!
I was searching for a video like this because I was hesitant between the 2, thank you ☺️
I'm going to purchase ipad 8 gen for video editing purpose...
ipad + lumafusion a cute love story 😊
Finally, a video where you could actually learn something!! Thank you so much - you helped me make up my mind!!
Just discovered your channel. Great video. I am still debating on which one to get. I was a avid iPhone user for years but then switched to Android when the Note 8 came out. I am very much into customization and that is something I found that Apple lacks. I still just don't know yet. 🦊 And I love the artwork.
